I see so many complaints here about Peta's involvement, as an animal lover I despise Peta myself yet please do not let this detract from the game play itself. The game is developed by a designer who used to work for Ubisoft so of course this is a great point on it's own. I think a lot of people honestly were too hard on this game. The process of saving animals from terrible situations is great and process. Also the sound effects are very simple yet on par with what would fit the game's color scheme and premise. I loved the color palette for the graphic design and the simple side scroller style of the game. Not every game has to be some advanced graphical 3D specimen to be fun, entertaining, enjoyable and over all fantastic. I would pay for this game with no question, the fact that it is free is just a bonus and very satisfying for me as a gamer and well known Graphic Artist/Youtuber/Cosplayer/Twitch Streamer. Expand

I'm not saying this game is phenomenal, but for free it's actually a lot of fun. I downloaded Kitten Squad because it was free and therefore the perfect game to play for my YouTube channel. I've downloaded games that I've known nothing about before, but I've never enjoyed one enough to create 4 lets plays as I did earlier today with Kitten Squad.

When I downloaded the game I had no idea of PETA's involvement. Initially when I discovered this it was a turn off. Despite considering myself an animal lover I tend to disagree with PETA's tactics and I expected this game to be heavy with propaganda. But it's not. It's instead a top down game in the style of Binding of Isaac where cats save whales, dolphins, and other animals.

The game offers a local co-op option and the selection of guns available allow for strategic play between you and your partner.

Overall it's a free game, so you can't go wrong. It's a fun top down dual stick shooter that actually turns out to be surprisingly addictive. I will be going back to this. If you'd like to see our lets play check out YouTube.com/thegameplayas

Kitten Squad is a twin stick Binding of Isaac clone with no depth.
This game is brought to you by PETA and is completely free for everyone on the PlayStation 4.
You play as a kitten and collect missions and quests before you set out the free orcas, dolphins, and sea lions from an aquarium by blasting through robot enemies with a variety of guns that are picked up from enemies and by smashing gates.
Frustratingly though there is no button prompt for picking up these guns, you simply walk over them and they switch. so it’s easy to pick up a junk gun by accident amongst the mayhem.
Sadly though the guns are the only variety.
Kitten squad is very linear. After you’ve cleared and area you go to the single door that opens and repeat.
You collect coins and heart but these coins are only used for cosmetics and hearts only refill depleted health.
The gear you can purchase from the shop unfortunately adds absolutely nothing to your character which makes saving up the cash for shades or a new cat absolutely pointless.
Every missions is basically the same excluding the 1 single boss fight in this game.
    There’s 1 boss, he’s boring, it’s anti-climactic.
    He’s just there, defeat him.
Kitten squad is a decent challenge, but shallower than the water Olivia the orca gets to swim in at Sealand.
I don’t see many coming back for more or actively choosing to sit down with this game after their initial play through.
PETA ironically made a game for the trophy hunters.
    For what it is,
