    I'll state this right off the bat: I'm someone who essentially only plays franchise mode. Just not into MUT like a lot of people are nowadays. I understand why EA would cater to their most popular mode that just so happens to rake in the $$$. But as a longtime fan of Madden? I'm offended EA continues to consistently give us a completely stale Franchise Mode.     The rest of this review is going to be me simply ranting about a few specific things I don't like about the game.

    Team Re-Branding:
    How many years in a row have the options for team re-branding stayed exactly the same? Just embarrassing at this point. Re-branding and design is an area that NBA 2K absolutely blows Madden out of the park in. Which is yet another sad reminder of the type of game we'd have if 2K could still make NFL games...but I digress.

    Fantasy Drafting:
    Something I always love doing in Madden is starting up franchise mode, making myself the owner/coach of every team, and doing a huge fantasy draft where I make the picks for every team. In past versions, there was a ticker on the left hand side of the screen showing which picks have already been made and which teams were coming up. This year, it's gone! It makes no sense to me why they would take that away. This may sound like a pointless complaint, but that's the sort of weird crap I do with this Madden every year, and having that taken away is a big deal to me.

    Customized Draft Classes:
    Draft classes you can upload to franchise mode? That's awesome. I love that. That's one thing I can easily applaud them for. But it might be the only thing.

    Soundtrack is Generic and Terrible:
    Does anyone remember a time when the Madden soundtrack was actually legit? Feels like it's been getting progressively worse since the early 2000s. I remember how exciting it used to be hearing a new Madden soundtrack for the first time and getting all of those sweet jams stuck in my head. Heck, even to this day almost 15 years later I still have Yellowcard's "Way Away" playing in my head on loop... all thanks to Madden 2004. But Madden 19? I simply have no words for this abomination of a "soundtrack." It's a generic disgrace. I can only assume they're going this route now in order to save money on song royalties. That's so incredibly weak on their part.

    Thoughts on Actual Gameplay:
    I know they've improved a few things here and there...but I promise you that I literally couldn't tell a single difference in gameplay between 18 and 19. I'll admit that I don't have the keenest memory of what 18 was like (it's been awhile) and that I also didn't play 19 for very long. Would I have noticed some differences if I had played a lot longer? Probably. But if I didn't notice anything different within the first 5 or so minutes of playing both defense and offense? That's all the time I needed in order to realize it's simply not worth the 60 bucks.

    I'm glad I played it safe by renting it at Red Box first before opening up the copy I had just received from Amazon. Now I can return it with peace of mind knowing I only wasted a few bucks instead of 50. I wholeheartedly recommend renting first to anyone else who purchases annual sports games. I can't believe this is the first time I every thought to do that...but I'm sure glad I did.    … Expand

    Probably the last game I'll purchase from EA Sports. It's like a web of advertisements to give them more money that it ruins the game. I like to play games to escape being hounded by money at every turn. Already paid ~$80 for the pre-release, and wish i could have it back. This business model is bad for games, and won't support it.
    On a happy note, it's fun to play against my friends.

    Another game used by EA as a financial pawn to simply milk more money from the players. Another game infested with increasingly prevalent micro transactions. Another game which focuses on online modes only and which does little, if anything, to actually make improvements to the base game. If you stop purchasing mediocre, rehashed games you already own, instead of clamouring for the latest release, then EA would be forced to change. Instead the same happens each year, and not just Madden but all EA sports franchises: skin upgrades, roster updates, abandonment of improvement in any mode except the online mode, increased focus on micro transactions, complaints from the public but ultimately good sales, disgusting amounts of money made, and a rinse and repeat attitude for the following year. People have to start taking a stand otherwise we will never have the sports game franchises we deserve. EA has followed the path of pure greed, with no concern or respect for the buying public - hitting them in the wallet is the only way to effect any change. Buying their awful products - products most of us know will disappoint - and then bemoaning their quality after the fact will do nothing. I hope by the next iteration things will have changed but the sad reality is that is will not. Honestly, boycott EA, all games - it is the only way to make an impact on an increasingly avaricious industry.… Expand

    All they care about is ultimate team and not the gameplay. This is not a simulation game but a game based off of animations.

    I decided to get my old GameCube out and play some of my old games during Christmas time. After awhile I ended up playing Madden 08, which is the last Madden game I played. I had a lot of fun creating my own team, then playing with that team in franchise mode on Madden 08. I then got a wild idea, "I should get Madden 19 for my PS4! It will be so cool to see how much progress this gameI decided to get my old GameCube out and play some of my old games during Christmas time.     Franchise Mode:
    Upon loading the game up I realized that the "create a team feature" has been removed. I then found out that I can relocate my team in franchise mode. You can't really create a team, but it's fine. I then got to my first off season. And this is when I realized that Madden 08 is a more complete game then Madden 19. All you do in the off season is sign free agents, complete the draft, and that's it. The whole franchise mode has been drastically simplified. It's pathetic. There was so much more to do in franchise mode in Madden 08. Madden 19 is a watered down, simplified, lazy, and engaging mode.

    Gameplay:
    The games play pretty well, as you'd expect. It gets annoying though because the announcers are horrible. And it cuts to showing the coach way to often. I literally don't care at all about the coach. So holding "X" after every play to skip the cut scene of the coach's reaction to the play gets profoundly annoying.

    MUT Mode:
    I refuse to play this piece of garbage. This mode is what's wrong with the gaming industry. Imagine if instead of MUT we got a complete franchise mode experience.

    This game is trash. I rated it a zero, because I bought this game. And after playing it for a couple days, I will be returning to Madden 08 on the GameCube.    … Expand

    Madden 19 is an absolute disgrace. Last year's game was bad and this is actually worse. I'm a Franchise mode player and I would rather chew on broken glass than this. I can't wait for 2k to come out instead. 0 out of 10. Game is terrible.

    Madden NFL 19 is a game that I have a love hate relationship with. On the one hand, it's graphics are beautiful. The animations recieved a much needed upgrade, and crowds look the best they've ever been in a madden game. Some modes, like Franchise mode recieved some nice upgrades (the ratings upgrade system is significantly improved), but was largely left ignored. I'm biased in sports games because these mods are my favorite in sports game, but Madden has largely left these modes ignored for the fifth year in a row. That said, there's still plenty of good. The commentary is improving, the sounds on the field are realistic, and the overall presentation is solid, with the execption of replays, which often times leave you on an awkward angle where you can't even see the play.

    Without question, the most infuriating mode is Home Coming. The mode is absoletely a joke, lasting a mere 3 hours without completing an NFL season (again). This mode is an embarrasement to sports gaming and needs to be done, from the ground up.    … Expand

    How the hell is this game getting 10/10!? Even if this was a free to play game, the microtransactions would still be ridiculous. But no, they charge **** 80 DOLLARS!! FOR THIS **** There's barely a game to play. Everything about the singleplayer has been downsized so they can spend more time on figuring out how to rape your wallet. Do not buy.

    This Game Sucks. Franchise update is a fail, still no assistant coaches, no training staff, no stadium or facilty upgrades, stat tracking is out of date. Bugs and glitches everywhere. Create a player is the same garbage it has been. Mut is pay to win football for dummys. Its just a Roster update Don't be like me Don't buy this game.

This is the worst Madden I have played in quite a while. Madden 16 was such a monumental step in the right direction for the next generation platforms in terms of gameplay feel, player control/responsiveness, weekly skill building drillsI have been a die hard Madden fan since Madden 2000. I buy the game every year, the day it comes out, and it is literally the only game I play all year. This is the worst Madden I have played in quite a while. Madden 16 was such a monumental step in the right direction for the next generation platforms in terms of gameplay feel, player control/responsiveness, weekly skill building drills in franchise mode, etc. Madden 16 was also a year of a quality soundtrack with a variety of genres. This year’s gameplay feels super off. Ball carriers are slow. The soundtrack is horrible (no variety in genre). Homecoming is a joke. After almost 20 years, it’s time to stop giving my hard earned money to a franchise that invests less and less into the product each year, and is going in the wrong direction (again)! For the first time ever, I am returning this game for a full refund. Not worth my time or money.… Expand

    I pre-ordered Madden and played it day 1. After loading into the main menu, the FIRST thing i noticed was that the only menu tile that had any color or distinction was MUT mode. This is EA/Madden's microtransaction mode where you can buy players to build an imaginary team to play against AI versions of other people's imaginary teams. On the main menu, every other game mode tile was greyI pre-ordered Madden and played it day 1. I'd already spent $60 for the game!! I then tried the other modes and there is NO improvement from past years. It almost seemed like an afterthought to EA. Even the online head to head mode seems barebones. I refunded on day 1 and will be putting my $60 towards something else.    … Expand

    I love Madden I really do and this years edition held such high hopes what with the positive reviews from critics and that’s rare. But when I picked it up and played I thought what!!! I’m playing on rookie level ok, kids level if you will and my offence wow it’s crap.     I've been a Madden Player for a few years and i think this is the last one i will buy. My favorite mode to play is franchise and no matter what difficulty you play on, its impossible. Running the ball is simply not an option as right when you get handed the ball, you barely have any time to move and the RB is so slowwww. No matter who you use, they're incredibly slow. Passing is alwaysI've been a Madden Player for a few years and i think this is the last one i will buy. It's the year 2018, we're playing on next gen consoles and EA has been making a killing on the micro-transactions for so many years now so we know they have earned the resources needed to improve the game anyFor me, this is the last year I purchase this game. I am truly disgusted with the lack of effort put into anything that isn't tied to the micro-transaction heavy mode that is MUT. It's the year 2018, we're playing on next gen consoles and EA has been making a killing on the micro-transactions for so many years now so we know they have earned the resources needed to improve the game any way they see fit to do so - yet CFM is as shallow or worse than Franchise Mode was a decade ago.

    Speaking of MUT, if you think Battlefront 2 was P2W before EA removed the loot boxes, go play MUT and tell me it's not as bad or worse. I wish football fans were as steadfast as the Star Wars community that stood together and forced EA's hand to remove the micro-transactions from the game.    … Expand

    In it's current state as of this review (August 11th), Madden is a bug riddled mess. While some bugs are comical in nature, such as the LB turning and staring at the referee which makes me think of some humorous situations where such an action would happen in the middle of a play, others are not so funny, annoying, or downright infuriating. One of the most common bugs that is fairly annoying but not too bad is the injury notification that flashes every other play when no injury occurs. This will pop up several times in a game when noone gets hurt and will scare you a little the first time it occurs but will become annoying once you realize it is just a hoax. Another glitch involves the use of coach mode, in which the offense will run on autopilot as the mode intended, but the defense will not. This isn't even a situation where not touching the controller will put autopilot on, as if no action occurs, then the player will stand idle. The game soft locks if you spectate a field goal attempt regardless of you kicks it. LBs will stop in place to allow CPU RBs to break off for big yardage. CPU LBs will phase through linemen to tackle your runner behind the line of scrimmage on All-pro and All-Madden difficulty. on harder difficulties, QBs can break off multiple sacks in order to make a big play even if your defense plays flawless. If you use the 3rd person camera for defense, the game does not autoflip the control stick for tackles, so when you go to tackle, your guy will dive away from where you want to since the game is reading the stick in the opposite direction. During the pre-snap, the QB will sometimes wonder toward the sidelines and rarely , though quite infuriatingly enough, not come back resulting in a delay of game. If you call an audible on offense and also a hot route before snapping the ball, the game will sometimes not allow you to snap the ball unless you reset the play to the one you originally called. The player lock-on focuses on the player, but does not position the camera to where you can see the ball, so you are for the first couple seconds playing blind to what the offense is doing. And last but not least, Leveon Bell can teleport across the field, don't believe me look it up.In its state as of writing this, this game is annoying to play really needs to be ironed out.… Expand

    Updating the rooster on Madden 16 would be a better experience then this awful excuse for a micro-transaction mining software! I have played mobile games better than this game. When will EA understand that we want a full-featured football game. All    PARENTS: DON'T BUY THIS FOR YOUR KIDS. IT'S ALL ABOUT BUYING MORE FEATURES AND SPENDING MORE MONEY! THIS GAME IS TRASH! ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!

The series has been pretty bad ever since EA admitted that they couldn’t make a product to rival NFL2k5 and so simply bought a monopoly license so that all competition was removed. However, this year’s offering is surely the worst edition yet. Madden really no longer even resembles football. The on field actionI’ve played Madden nearly every year since it appeared on the Commodore Amiga. The series has been pretty bad ever since EA admitted that they couldn’t make a product to rival NFL2k5 and so simply bought a monopoly license so that all competition was removed. However, this year’s offering is surely the worst edition yet. Madden really no longer even resembles football. The on field action is all canned animations now. There’s no organic play, no mechanics or physics in the game. Players are sucked into each other, clip through each other and act in scripted ways rather than as actual intelligent or organic competiion between entities of differing attributes. The presentation is amazingly lazy and basic. It’s almost embarrassinglly bad. The game these days is just a glossy wrapper for the micro transaction system of Ultimate Team. This will now never change because people keep buying the game and wasting their money on it. It’s a shame really because foolball is one of the biggest sports in the world and fans don’t have a game to represent it, aside from this utter garbage.… Expand

    Why isn't there a player look customization tool with facial features, body type, etc?

    They do this because the millions just buy it, then throw tons of money at Ultimate Team after that. This is why having one company with the pro license is really bad. Nobody pushes the genre forward.

    I think NFL needs to open the license for competition again. I think that games should either be free platforms with microtransactions, or pay one price and play with all features. No mixing the two.

    The NFL games, and EA sports gaming in general are getting worse the longer they go on with exclusive rights. They make hit games by buying the licenses. The sitting on them and adding Ultimate team microtransactions. They are hit games because they are the only choice for the given sport. (At least FIFA has PES to compete with. But look at PGA, it got tons of competition and then EA gave up. Look at basketball, NBA2k is now the dominant franchise. It is possible to compete with them, so much so that when someone else innovates EA crumbles.)

    I would like to see NFL19 sell 20-30% less and have EA actually have to really dig and make a great game again to draw players. Or for the NFL to allow multiple publishers make competing games.

    Creating a player gives you a choice of a couple of generic faces based on which skin tone u select. No facescanning or sculpting, no selecting hairstyles, facial hair noting.

    Franchise mode hasn’t been fun since the Madden was on PS3.

The menus are confusing and overly complicated because they're filled with advertisements to buy in game currency. 99% of every loading screen is just another ad for one of their microtransactions.     I like to play D-line when I play and the linemen all have this ability to get magnetically drawn to the O-line. This has been like this since the Madden 90's era. Forcing the lineman to butt heads. Also the offense is just as bad. When a dime zone defense lines up on a fake punt offense and the pass completes for 40 yards it is almost as bad as a goaline blitz 90 rated defense watching a 62 rated HB run up the middle untouched from 15 yards out for a touchdown.
    The only reason Madden gets the reviews it does is because of team/player licensing and nobody else wants to try and get in the business of football games because EA has cornered the market since the early 90's.
    All in all just another EA game with purchase options to boost your Madden Ultimate Team(MUT) to whatever your wallet can handle to blow away single purchase players online with booster pack players.
    As far as the "haters will hate" posts, there is nothing else out on the market to duke it out with EA. Nothing to hate about other than nobody else will try.    … Expand

    This years iteration of Madden feels like yet another step back for the franchise, with Longshot failing to improve and build on last years release, gameplay wise the game feels no different, and the even more insidious microtransactions that have infested Madden make this a game that should be avoided.

Don't get me started on the stupid double tapping for turbo. We have reached a point where it feels as though EA keeps slapping a new coat of paint on an old beat-up truck. If the NFL refuses to extend licensing to create competition here, then please EA, take a look back at your roots. Look back at Madden '04, '05 etc. These games were fun they were not bogged down with overly complicated control schemes. You just picked them up and played. If Madden '19 played like Madden '05, but with these updated graphics, then you would be looking at a 9.5 out of 10 title. One last thing.....Real time physics engine please!!     I think it plays better than 18 but not saying much. Franchise got a coat of paint if that, still severely lacking. Lots of bugs that need attention. MUT supersedes all and this game will not be better util that changes.

    Another money draining franchise which is not worth revisiting. Take Madden 2010, put on nice graphics and other additional **** charge 60$ and make additional money from buying packs. This is the prime example of the games nobody should buy.

    When a game is released on annual basis with the same content and skin, it is nothing more than a cash grabber. EA's sport games have become its cash life support, and the creator doesn't need to care about the quality because there are always fans who are willing to buy. Maybe there are players who enjoy this product, but it doesn't deserve to be called a game.

The QB throws the ball horribly on the 10 yard hitch, if you dont throw it perfetly, the ball flies way over instead of underneath.     Madden 19 is noticeably better than 18 when you play it. It is not perfect but it is more fun to play. The player movement is more responsive. Seeing the entire field when passing is better, they must have improved the cameras a bit because now when my QB is in the pocket, I just feel more comfortable seeing which receiver to throw to. The running is tougher but I like that. The A.I. isMadden 19 is noticeably better than 18 when you play it. It is not perfect but it is more fun to play. The player movement is more responsive. The new scheme fit and player progression system makes you stop and assess your teams strengths and weaknesses especially with the Fantasy Draft feature and Rookie Draft which they had the foresight to indicate which players fit your scheme.     I am playing on PC. The PC controls suck so you have to use a controller but when i use my controller the buttons are a mess. The game frequently crashes and save files corrupt easily. The game was a slight improvement than 18 but it still has a long way to go.

Franchise Mode is very good with Players Archetypes with skill points, new depth positions and schemes fit..

    I haven't played Madden since Madden 10 and this game feels great so far.

    I really enjoy how franchise mode plays out and the overall feel of the game is much better than the previous one I played on xbox 360. The player motion feels great and the AI seems much smarter.

CPU blitzing is also more effective in this years version. However, I do wish at some point they'll release all-pro or all-madden solo challenges that don't require us to grind out so many rookie and pro challenges.

    Overall, Madden has been consistent in making slight improvements at best year to year. No one should be purchasing this game unless they plan to play online competitive modes because everything else is pretty trash and way to easy. This game is still great for online competitive play. The improved computer blitzing and nerfing plays that have been way too effective year after year due to poor game engine/mechanics will make online more competitive, which will continue to challenge online players in a new way.    … Expand

    Issues:
    1. Run Game/Tackling - Offensive linemen cannot hold blocks and are not intelligent with blocking assignments Many times they run past defenders without engaging. Running also feels "chunky" in that you're player can only run in four directions, north, south, east, or west. There is no room for making fine cuts and taking precise angles. to hit a hole. Its either you run right into the back of your lineman, or you bust it out too wide, causing a defender to catch up to make the tackle. The new "Run Player Motion" is an absolute disaster. Why is a running back hitting a hole standing straight up?

    2. Passing Offense/Running Physics - In an attempt to make the game have cooler plays, it sacrifices the fluidity of a pass play. For instance, the moment that the ball is released by the QB, you can see the the defender make an unrealistic change in their direction to make a play, usually an interception (because all defenders seem to have 99 catching and 99 route running). Defenders who are in coverage of other receivers, and who are 15+ yards away from your intended receiver, change their direction immediately when the QB begins his arm in motion. No person can react that quickly to make a break on a ball. DB's/LB's are able to change direction on a dime to make a play on the ball. It is completely unrealistic.

    3. Option - The option again this year is still insanely nerfed from when it was first introduced into Madden. Many times, when a read is made to hand the ball off because the DE/LB stays at home, and "handoff" button is pressed, the game will not hand off the ball, even though the QB and RB are still in mesh.

    4. Player conditioning - For the situations of scrambling QBs (for a mobile QB) and DBs on interceptions, they get tired way too soon to be effective. My QB was below 20% stamina before he got 10 yards downfield. The same thing goes for DBs right after a pick, they have severely low stamina, and their speed gets cut in half. This is unacceptable.

    5. Interception Issues - Another issue that goes back 3+ years. When your defender has intercepted the ball, and the screen turns to take control and the player holds forward on the joystick, the game does not understand that the field has been reversed. So when you hold forward, with the screen turning to have you run forward, your player tries to run backward, and losing running momentum, making most pick 6 opportunities impossible.

    Conclusion - Clunky and same game play continue for yet another year of Madden. They try to have beautiful graphics, at the massive expense of mechanics. EA has been incompetent in providing a quality game for its fan base. Classic EA.    … Expand

    The constant mut messages(a mode I rarely play) are constant and annoying...they obviously want even more of my money. They don't care about anything but mut, so they slapped on another yearly gimmick to try to mask that, this time being 'rpm' system, but it's HEAVILY FLAWED. One, it ONLY effects the ballcarrier, forcing you to pace yourself before accelerating, while the defense runs full speed at all times, so it's not balanced. Secondly, the system itself is glitchy, causing ballcarriers to run goofy, or even worse, sometimes JOG even when I hold the sprint button. The worst and most unrealistic part of it is that defenders are coded to shed their blocks AS SOON AS YOU HOLD THE SPRINT BUTTON! The ai can't run the ball at all, and I've had several games where I've held them to negative yards rushing. Physics have taken a step back, and every LB in this game is super alert at all times. Screen passes DON'T work since your dumb rb often runs into the back of his blockers, and the defenders are right in your face as soon as you hike the ball.

    Speaking of hiking the ball, you have no control over your qb until he does his backpedal...NO USER CONTROL! The pass rushing mechanics are so generic and need to be fixed badly(they are saving this for the future to sell newer madden games). A LOT of the player models look off, or flat out wrong, unless they are superstar/notable players, inexcusable lack of effort. The challenge system STILL doesn't work right, injuries are everywhere too. I had a game where all 3 of my RBs got injured, so since the game isn't smart enough to put in a WR, they put in my starting RB who was 'hurt' and not supposed to return, so he literally can't run, and just stood there will he got the ball! This is a bad game, I wish I didn't cave in and buy this.

    Menus are slow, the soundtrack sucks and has no variety, the mut reminders are constant and everywhere, hardly any bad weather games in franchise mode, presentation is horrible. Shame that nfl 2k5 is STILL the best football game out, and look at how long it's been.

    I'm going to cut my losses and get a meal out of selling it back to gamestop...at least then that would be the first good thing madden 19 has done for me.    … Expand

    Just ignore all of the bad reviews, if you're a die-hard Madden fan then you'll love this game! Each year Madden just gets better and better, though the music is a bit lackluster this year that doesn't take away from the exciting hard hitting action! Get in the game!!!

At least with Fifa's the Journey you get to play as many games instead of watching cutscenes, and the Journey as fun to play. Madden Ultimate Team mode has been fun to play if it didn't have any of those stupid microtransactions. The game is still fun to play with your friends. The franchise mode it better than last year with the addition of draft classes in the game. EA is nothing but a terrible company that doesn't listen to there fans, makes the game worst, and lastly ruins everything that made Madden great in the first place. If EA didn't have to buy the whole license in the first place, there still would have been NFL 2k vs. Madden today. Imaging if NBA 2k decides to obtain the entire NBA exclusive license to destroy there competitor NBA Live and NBA 2k would still be the exact same thing year after year, and people would hate the game even more. However, the sim stats in franchise seem a bit unrealistic, with edge rushers consistently getting nearly 20 or above 20 sacks, among other statistical issues. For the bad, Longshot I’ve heard was meh, but that’s not what I play the game for. Online, the strip ball mechanic can be overpowered at times. The commentary is pretty bad and doesn’t capture the excitement of the game. Finally, the running animation is really awkward and weird.     After my opponent had a WR that was WIDE OPEN on a streak, and the WR made ZERO attempt to even turn around and look for the ball...the ball hit the WR right in his upper back... this is on a 30-yard pass mind you, wide-open, plenty of time to look back for the ball... BUT NOPE. The ball hits the wide-open WR right in the back of his upper back.

    After that incident, I've literally DELETED this game from my XBOX.

    When I went out to buy this game, I said to myself, "The glitches on Youtube probably don't happen that often." And that's true: The teleportation, the missing hand and forearm, and the inability to pickup a fumble at all...that's only happened to me a few times. So I said, "Alright, I can deal with this if this doesn't happen that often."

    Problem is:

    From a completely unbiased standpoint here and based solely on observation, the AI in this game is about as intelligent as the sheep that run off the cliff in Red Dead Redemption 1...

    In fact, this game is so bad, I've spent more time joking about how bad it is then actually trying. It's really, really brutal. I don't know what else to say. I've DELETED it from my Xbox after PAYING $60 for it. Unless EA gets their **** together, I definitely will PLAY 20 first before buying...and this is the FIRST year I have ever said that.    … Expand

    I actually did have fun with the game at some times, like playing online and pulling off tricky plays, but that only happens rarely. I ended up running a Hail Mary with 9 seconds left in the 1st half, up by 10. He was in Cover 2 Man so it seemed like an easy TD. Keenan Allen beat his man and Rivers threw a dime to him. It bounced off Allen's hands and landed in Travis Benjamin's hands off the tip, and ran it back to the house with no one ahead. This happened a few hours before writing this actually. But the cons still out weight the pros and they seem to focus on MUT instead of Franchise.

    I see little to no improvement with Franchise mode, but I do like the new leveling up system. If they could add back superstar, or even just add a 2k like career mode, i.e go through college, and then get drafted by a good or bad team depending on how you preformed.

    Longshot, oh how much I hate longshot.. I spent a few god ugly hours on longshot trying to squeeze some fun out of it. I can't understand the childish humor that is expressed throughout, and I understand it is a E rated game. It makes me sick to know half the resources were put towards this

    MUT is a mode that I enjoyed for a while, then noticed the flaws. MICRO-TRANS-ACTIONS, you cant escape them, no matter where you go! Last year I actually thoroughly enjoyed MUT, but now its just you getting your ass kicked by some 90 overall in seasons mode! I don't understand where they were going with this, 3/10    … Expand

    Madden 19 is an average game. The speed is too slow the ball carriers are in slow motion. The soundtrack isn’t good, it’s all trash. The wide receivers are unrealistic, you get lightly hit and drop it but get blown up and make a one handed catch. In franchise mode trade logic is bad, it’s easier to trade for Luke Kuechly than it is to get Andre Hal. Homecoming is cheesy and boring.Madden 19 is an average game.     I usually dont review games but you guys forced my hand on this one. I love football and because I do, I talk myself into buying Madden every year. The game is usually bad but this year is absolutely disappointing. Scripted gameplay and game altering glitches take every ounce of fun out of this game.     Absolutely the worse madden I’ve ever played. Preordered it and it crashed my PS4 the first two months while in franchise.

    This is not a quality game at all. This is probably the worst madden game i have ever played. There are no additional features, besides longshot (nobody asked for it) and it just feels like the game has been copy and pasted but somehow with worse gameplay. way to many glitches that affect the outcome of the game and forced animations that dont make sense in anyway. im late but madden 20This is not a quality game at all.     Haven't played since Madden 16 and wished I had kept it that way. The game is still clearly scripted to keep the games close. If you're up by a couple of touchdowns the CPU just goes nuts to put you in a position where you have to drive on the last possession to win the game with a TD. EA seems to think it's fun to have every game be a come from behind victory on the last possession. ItHaven't played since Madden 16 and wished I had kept it that way. The game is still clearly scripted to keep the games close. If you're up by a couple of touchdowns the CPU just goes nuts to put you in a position where you have to drive on the last possession to win the game with a TD. EA seems to think it's fun to have every game be a come from behind victory on the last possession. It isn't. Interceptions are still through the roof even if I knock the sliders to 0 I'm throwing 3 picks a game on the regular.

    The game looks beautiful and I like the feel of the plays. They really need to put in a quick presentation option though as you end up hitting X after every play to avoid the replay and commercials.    … Expand

But if those were the only problems with the game, I'd probably give it a 4. However, not only was it branded as a new game, but EA payed critics to give it a good review, that, combined with all the mindless sheep who continue to buy these games EVERY YEAR and constantly pay for micro transactions shows how despicable this company has become. To everyone reading this, boycott Madden NFL 20 and every game after it, it's obvious that these games will never become good again so long as the continue to get rushed each year. We need to tell EA that enough is enough and that we've had it with their **** and the only way to do so is to not purchase ANYTHING from them, thus making them lose money. Consistently QBs with 50 break tackle and strength would run over opposing players with strength in the 90s.... what is the point of the strength metric??? A safety with high Hit Power and Strength more often should have more violent encounters against smaller weaker players and vice versa... Im sick of seeing my giant strong TE get taken down so easily by smaller weaker players.... it should be a struggle to bring him down.

    Additionally, if i have catch and catch in traffic 99.... i dont want to see multi drop games ... players with poor catch rating... vice versa.... in the running game, which is slow and plotting, If you have a numbers advantage and the defense doesn't adjust... that should be a good gain and vice versa...2 cant block 4.
    This game was such a lazy iteration. It doesn't feel like football. It doesn't feel like the ratings of the players matter... the stars should play like stars... In this game N. Suh and A. Donald regularly finish games with no stats.
    If there is a difference of 20 in overall within a match up... the screen light up and somebody should be getting embarrassed LIKE IN REAL LIFE. Also after a QB gets popped 5 or so times (DEPENDING ON THEIR STATS) take them out of the game.... i cant stand seeing my safety go out of the game for his first tackle on the QB and its the 9th sack of them game and QB is totally fine.

    Madden NFL 19 is a sublime example of what can be achieved with a sports title. The Real Player Motions generates that feeling of not 'controlling' players, but rather living as the players instead. Seeing how lifelike all the players are within a match, and how they communicate with each other before and during plays, and then watching them seamlessly get into the next play, is freakishly uncanny.
