Madden NFL 20 has reached an additional milestone thanks to the addition of significant new features. It remains the best American football experience.

However it got here, it’s a distilled, slightly faster game that focuses on ironing out its rough spots rather than introducing anything that could cause new ones. And as much as we love the spectacle of an attempt at interactive story or the novelty of a quirky new side mode, enhancing the part people actually play could be of more long-term value.

The unveiling of Superstar X-Factors had long-term fans of the series cowering, but happily they inject welcome freshness into a stalwart that had grown a tad stale. [Issue#166, p.86]

Madden NFL 20 maintains important elements of previous deliveries, but it is still an experience of contrasts with successes and specific errors that may change in the future. Despite this, it is a good football game that will keep fans entertained throughout the season.

Madden NFL 20 takes a step in the right direction and I really enjoyed the X-Factor additions to the series. While I still think some form of competition would force EA to make more drastic changes, I’m not optimistic with any developers taking a spin with the football genre (maybe the XFL?). If you haven’t caught the pigskin for a few seasons, Madden NFL 20 is the right route to run for this year. With the new consoles coming (most likely) next holiday, I’m looking forward to seeing what EA builds upon from Madden NFL 20 and brings over to next gen. For now I’ll enjoy taking the Broncos to the Super Bowl, while beating up the cover pretty boy, Mahomes (not bitter at all).

The greatest show on turf gets a bit more personality with Madden NFL 20’s new X-Factor abilities. While this headline addition only applies to the sport’s biggest superstars, it injects new life into the on-field action. The new QB1 campaign may have potential in the future, but in its current guise it’s a step back from the Longshot story explored in previous entries, while the fan-favourite Franchise mode continues to see neglect. Ultimate Team is unquestionably the series’ underlying bread-and-butter, and with tons of new challenges to complete, it’s sure to become your new obsession as American football’s 100th season gets underway – just be wary of investing too much money into the mode.

Simply put, Madden NFL 20 just isn’t all that enjoyable as a whole. Gameplay still has unfixed issues that have been prevalent for years and Franchise is still lacking the complete overhaul and player control it’s needed for years. Face of the Franchise is a total flop, serving as more proof that it’s time for EA to give up cinematic sports stories. Sure, Ultimate Team got some needed improvements and some X-Factors are fun to mess around with – but this year is more proof than ever that Madden needs a serious overhaul in nearly every aspect.

All pro doesn’t even provide a challenge where as when I play on madden it is challenging but the main problem I have is fumbling, I will be running with an xfactor running back (also turned fumbling off because it pissed me off so much) and they will still strip me it is ridiculous Expand

The game is bad! Microtransactions rule the game, franchise continues to get neglected. MUT gets all the attention and it's basically pay 2 win.

Worst game in existence. The game is almost decided right after the coin toss. The game rewards people who do the same **** 20 times in a rowWorst game in existence. The game is almost decided right after the coin toss. The game rewards people who do the same **** 20 times in a row but makes it impossible for people who try to choose the right play for the situation. If madden is going to keep being made, it shouldn’t be by EA. Here’s an example of how bad it is:
I was playing with my friend and I ran up the score real quick so it was 42-21 at halftime and I get the kickoff. Tell me why the returner fumbles it on a hit that’s not even a hit stick. Then his guy picks it up and three guys try to tackle him but he breaks through all of them. I get the ball back and guess what? Another fumble. He takes it back bc somehow Juju can now moss Earl Thomas. I get the ball again and I scramble with Lamar and guess what? Another fumble. He turns it around and scores after James Connor jukes our three linebackers at once. It’s tied now. He makes a 56 yard field goal to win it. I hate Madden so much.

Game is so trash. Unfortunately it’s the only football game around. Just got done playing a game online, that almost had me take the disc outGame is so trash. Unfortunately it’s the only football game around. Just got done playing a game online, that almost had me take the disc out and break. The game always has advantages set to one side of the players. I had three occasions where the game cheated In the first half. And led to the other player having a 17-7 lead. First occasion was a had manually user my player to block his tight end, he through it to him. What should of been a guaranteed lurk and pick, was a drop picked by my user. Next was another pass by opponent that was thrown directly to my guy who drops it. This was the same drive, then the final straw was. It was 4&1, he ran up the middle which I put a all blitz and guess run up the middle. Guess what the middle was wide open. And not only did he get the first down, he got the touchdown. This game is trash and deserves to be thrown in the trash. So glad I didn’t buy and got it for free. Not worth 60$ maybe 10$ game is trash. 0/10. Expand

Madden has great potential, and probably great devs but they only spent time adding cool colors and cover athletes to appeal to kids. EAMadden has great potential, and probably great devs but they only spent time adding cool colors and cover athletes to appeal to kids. EA removed all good features after Madden 13 because they couldn't transfer all the coding to PS4, and yet 8 years later they haven't brought back a single feature and if they do it's for marketing like the pro bowl, like create a team for example isn't that hard to do, but they only want to appeal to FUT fetuses who pay all their mom's money on a useless gamemode Expand
