Having moved the action away from the dark tunnels of Moscow's underground onto a train, going into the unknown and forced to make stops throughout the journey, Metro Exodus' authors created a memorable interactive adventure consisting of happiness from discovering love and grief from irreplacebale loss, hope of better future and despair from understanding the truth. On top of that one might call Exodus a distorting mirror that reveals the most horrible sins of mysterious Russian soul: heresy and servilism.

The best post-apocalyptic survival game of the generation, that innovates in terms of both its varied gameplay mechanics and its incisive storytelling.

It still has some of the technical issues we’ve seen from 4A Games before, but Metro Exodus stands as a terrific post-apocalyptic shooter that expands on the series’ customization options and environments without ignoring its survival roots. 4A Games remains committed to turning author Dmitry Glukhovsky’s stories into (barely) living and breathing worlds, offering brief glimpses of hope in an otherwise depressing and occasionally nihilistic tale. Exodus establishes Metro as one of the great narrative-focused shooters, and it proves that exciting action doesn’t have to come at detriment to story.

Metro Exodus is an entertaining post-apocalyptic shooter that isn’t afraid to take chances with the series’ formula.

Metro Exodus feels like a solid simulacrum of someone else trying to make a Fallout game, for all the benefits and drawbacks that entails. Its maps are fun to explore, and effort has been put into making the side areas rewarding in both narrative expansion and bonus upgrades to your gear. That said, Exodus doesn’t have the same handle on ambient storytelling and visual interest to drive you to investigate every corner of the map.

While Metro Exodus doesn’t do anything wrong as a blockbuster shooter, where the original titles were original and refreshing, Exodus is yet another in a ever-deepening pile, and the Metro franchise deserved better than to be exhausting.

I feel like much of the criticism from users stems from the speed of gameplay or difficulty. These are two of the reasons this is such a standout title for me. I have been playing on ranger hardcore difficulty and it seems to be one of the only shooters i have ever played that is optimized around the max difficulty. For me, this makes the game punishing but fair. While the challenge is immense, i never felt like it was insurmountable. I compare this to the CoD games where when the difficulty is cranked up, it is clear that no one was meant to play it in that manner. Instead of increasing AI intelligence or line of sight, the developers give every NPC perfect accuracy and limitless grenades. Another reason why i love the game how it provides an incentive for well thought out and deliberate decision making. For example, because weapon quality affects performance, and the cleaning process is a relatively resource heavy process, i make a point to avoid terrain that would make my weapons more dirty. The decision making is extended to the crafting process when you must decide between making, gas masks, air filters, or more ammo. I could go on and on for hours but i was overall extremely impressed.

Although i did give the game a 10/10 there were a couple of things that have annoyed me. The biggest problems have been invisible walls that block both movement and bullets, and NPCs talking over each other. For a game that tries so hard to make you love the NPCs, it can be hard to understand their dialogue as they are barely audible over other NPCs.

Its a nice game andI just finished the game and you can see footage on Youtube (PS Play NL). It took me around 14 hours and i had a blast. Its a nice game and follows the footsteps of Metro Last Light and 2033. The atmosphere is fantastic, graphics and sounds are good, but the gun shooting could use an improve. It's easier to shoot beast with shotgun and human with rifle.

I like the more linear style. So the chapter in the beginnen like The Volga was a bit disappointing. It was more like go here, do this and next. What you expect from an open world game. After that chapters are getting alot better and the chapter Dead City was great! The game was a bit short and i wish i had more story to it.

Did you like 2033 and Last Light? You will like this game. Sometimes there can we alot of dialogs, but you can skip that if you want. If you see it on sale, buy it.

The apocalypse is here, and the gaming industry is making 2019 the year the world ends with games like Metro Exodus, Far Cry New Dawn, Rage 2,The apocalypse is here, and the gaming industry is making 2019 the year the world ends with games like Metro Exodus, Far Cry New Dawn, Rage 2, and Days Gone. That is just the first half of the year too. The Metro Exodus is the one I was looking most forward out of all of these and for the most part it holds up. Exodus is the third entry of Artyom’s journey through the metro fighting mutants and bandits alike. Being that this is the third entry they had to turn it up to 11 with this game and take you completely out of the metro this time around; which was an excellent choice.

The story is a on the road type of apocalypse type of story or in this games case it is a on the rails journey due you travel through Russia via a train the whole game. The game also decided to take literally every single post apocalypse story and cram it into one game. We get the cannibals, religious cult, the baron of a wasteland who controls the gas, and the people who have been trapped in an area and are ignorant to any strangers. You get all that and more!! This does make the story more focused on the characters and their journey and not on any event that was happening unlike Last Light’s Soviet invasion. Artyom still doesn’t talk which truly hurts the scenes where you and Ana (his wife) are supposed to be having heartfelt moments which fall flat because he won’t respond to anything. The worst part of the story is the ending. The ending was cliché and anti-climatic which sucks for something that should be the last in the series of having a lack luster end game.

The game itself looks and plays great. They introduced this crafting mechanic that isn’t too complicated, but necessary if you want to survive. The crafting makes sense because it is the end of the world there wasn’t going to be any shops laying around for you to buy bullets. One mechanic they introduced I need to see in more games is their human AI. This AI is more tactical and won’t just sit there waiting to be killed they also do something no AI ever does and that is surrender. If you are a killing machine like myself the bandits will drop their guns in which point you can leave them, punch them, or my favorite do a knife execution. The shooting feels nice, but the limited type of guns available meant I really just use the same two throughout most of the story. This time around it is open world which works well with this game. I never did much exploring through the various worlds, so I assume there is much to see I just can’t say for sure.

Overall it was a good game my only issue is that I don’t know if it’s something that I’d ever go back to. I think that the story never hooked me, and I never ended up caring about the character while the gameplay was fun it wasn’t enough to leave me wanting more. I give this game a nice solid BARGAIN BIN.

Metro should have never been an open world game, the developers **** everything up. The graphic hasn't been improved at all since the last Metro games, the loading screens are extremely long, the game freezes now and then. The story is shallow, the dialogues are long and superficial, the movements are heavy-handed and exploration is boring. Unquestionably, the worse game I've ever played. Expand
