Sony San Diego eschewed developing splashy back-of-the-box bullet points in favor of refining an already great game, exhibiting a confidence that is itself quietly remarkable — just like this series' consistency.
Let’s be honest here, many of you are going to upgrade every year regardless of what is added or changed. For those of you that look for major changes before jumping on board, I do think this year’s changes on PS4/PS3 are well worth the purchase.
This game is way more amazing then the reviewers in general are giving it credit for. The most impressive aspect is not the graphics or the immersive feel of the game, but is the way that when you think like a batter, or like a pitcher, the game responds realistically. When you get a foul off late on a secondary pitch, then throw a fastball, it's a satisfying strikeout. As well as this, pitchers will follow real to life pitch selection and locations of those same pitchers against those same batters. You will also see at bats change over the course of the game. if you have a base knock on that pitcher's fastball, expect to see his secondary pitches next time. Not to mention reading body language for runners stealing and the best 'be a pro' mode in all of sports games in general! The complete package.
Easily the greatest baseball game I've ever played. It's incredibly realistic and the games feel and play out like you'd expect in real baseball. Definitely worth picking up.
For someone playing the series for the first time the commentary will sound pretty good. However those who do so year after year are sick and tired of hearing the same things and not having the emotion from the announcers to match the big moments. It's well past time for SCEA to make a change in this area.
As a baseball simulator, MLB 15: The Show delivers on almost every front, and it would be unfair to penalize the game for being too good, for too long. However, a good review score doesn’t necessarily mean that the latest edition is worth $60, especially to players who bought last year’s version.
This new episode still is a great baseball simulator, but we think fans deserve a truly relevant step forward. If you own MLB 14, you should think twice, but if you don't and you like baseball, you won't find anything better.
Because there's such a massive disconnect in quality between the online and offline versions of MLB 15: The Show, I'm really not sure how I feel about it. The former is absolutely awful, so bad that if I weren't a massive baseball fan already it would make me question how anyone could possibly like the sport.
It’s weird when you feel so unenthusiastic about a game that you know is “good.” This used to be a series that I would never miss. These days, I’d probably take a long break from The Show if I could.
I never play MLB 15 before but i played MLB 13 i want to have this. i don't know how the gameplay look like because i never play it or watch videos. i wish they will make MLB 16 the show
I am a huge baseball fan, and I look forward to the relase of the new MLB The Show game every year. This years instalation is still a solid baseball sim. This years release has improved some of the things that hampered last years release. First of all, there are little to no glitches left in the game. In MLB 14 I would get pink screens, game crashes, and weird clipping glitches. So far the games has not done any of that. There is a huge focus on diamond dynasty mode this year, and it's a fun distraction from the typics road to the show and franchise mode. Overall all the core game modes remain the same so if you're looking for innovation it might be better to hold off. My biggest complaint is that road to the show ultimately remains the same. The people at the show should really consider adding a story or more depth the the game mode. I am also hoping that maybe one day they'll add a make your own ballpark and create a team mode, but for now it's wishful thinking. To wrap things up, the Show still prooves it does baseball right, but with the lack of innovation it's closer to going down the road of Madden, with every installment being a roaster update.
Great addition to a great simulation series. I did expect more additions and fine tuning this year and that is why I rated this game a 7. I am mainly a franchise game mode player and this game still delivers a great simulation of the game of baseball. No doubt the show is still at the top of baseball simulation games ever. Graphics are better than last year not by a lot but still better. There are some new animations as well but again I think this game should have been polished better I think the franchise fell short putting out a jaw dropping game for the next gen console that fans have been waiting for. This is still a great game for baseball fans and I am hoping for bigger steps next year.
Opening the packs of virtual Baseball cards is a real throw back thrill.
Chucking your old cards into your bike spokes virtually
is called feeding or training your (RTTS) Road to the show created ballplayer.
Don't worry too much what cards you feed him, he can play any position, the Ultimate Utility man.
A surprisingly fun mode to play. The game makers promised a free pack of cards every 9 days of logging in,
after logging into this game daily for 15 days, I still have yet to receive the reward, a broken promise.
You can also create a Franchise using your favorite team or having a draft and playing with your picks.
The franchise mode is very playable, and fun, in the offline mode.
There is also an online Franchise mode, I guess,
as I have yet to be able to get into an online league.
Making a league(Franchise) online, is a labor of love I have tried, but,
have consistently struck out at due to its complexities.
So I stick to the offline mode, this is a big disappointment.
DD was to be the main reason for owning this product, but beyond the card collecting, the game is pure frustration.
The game crashes, opponents quit, I quit, the fun factor in game play of DD eludes me.
It takes 40 minutes or more to play a game, if you are on the short end of a blow out in the 2nd inning,
do you want to waste 40 minutes of life watching Joe Game Expert pound you into submission!!
This type of game outcome is common place, to some a 3 run lead in the 1st inning is the blowout handwriting on the wall,
and I not only cannot blame people for quitting, I have joined them.
Frustrating to the dominates of the mode, and with good reason they will complain.
I won't change and expect to see more "momento for quitting" cards in lieu of a real player card,
coming from the game creators following a "quit".
There are many other flaws to the DD mode that move people to quit a game, many are in game antics that exploit frustration.
The players you field in DD, to me, have little effect in a game mode that is much more about gamers skill.
The pitching is truly outstanding but is so overpowering to the uninitiated that it makes DD a no fun mode.
Another feature is the Homerun Derby on line, short in length and
very fun to compete with your "Miggy" against their "Stanton", but,
the game crashes as often as it finishes,
and results in so many "unplayed" matches, it is, in the end, an exercise in futility.
Overall the MLB15 is a big disappointment, the most playable modes are all offline modes,
and most are equalled or exceeded by minimal graphics games like
OOTP Baseball,or Baseball Mogul both PC games.
Played at my friends and its the same game as last year right down to the ps3 looking player models and the jerseys still have no cloth physics, all in all its just a 65.00 roster update.
