What’s most important is that the game works without giving me the slightest bit of motion sickness, and as a fan of trash B-grade science fiction, I was really able to appreciate the inherent silliness of it all. There might not be much depth here over the long term, but for some short bursts of frenetic action, it absolutely has the lightgun genre nailed.
For both better and worse, Mortal Blitz is effectively Time Crisis in VR. In some ways, it’s the game you dreamed of playing since you first picked up a G-Con gun in 1995; physically taking cover and trading fire with the enemy can be intense and thrilling. At the same time, though, its design is overly simplistic, and lacks the twists and hooks we’ve come to expect as the VR shooter begins to move into its second year. There’s plenty fun to be had here, but it’s dated even by VR’s standards.
An amazing game with combine the speed of time crisis with the cocepts in base of house of the dead, the reviews theyn show the fun and action of this game, see youtube videos and fun comvencete, price is standar for PSVR games but the fun account each dollar. Epic game.
I know. A 10/10 is extreme, because that means it's on par with the MGS2/4's of the world, as well as The Last of Us and so on.
But you know what?
I don't **** care!
This game...
Whooooooohoooo.
It's without a shadow of a doubt the best representation of the possibility of VR Time Crisis that exists so far on the PSVR platform!
If this doesn't show the Namco devs that Time Crisis needs this revival, then i argue that they hate money!
But for real. If the marked was full of these games on PSVR, then it would prob get a solid 7/8 out of 10.
But due to this being the only one, and being one hell **** at the same time? 10 out of **** 10.
Slow motion, dualwielding, time management, different units, really bad story (Time Crisis standard, so a good thing) and amazing use of the PS4's power. Didn't play on PS4Pro, and was amazed that it ran so smoothly, with all of those things happening on the screen.
ONE NOTE!
Had to buy it through my american account. (From Denmark).
THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED! I hate devs who are excluding part of the market. This game could be a major hit here, but they choose to keep us in the dark. I'll speak its praises, but i know that there are a lot of players that only have 1 account, which makes it impossible to get it.
FIX THIS DEVS! AND YOU SHALL BE RICH!
Good job, and please, a sequel or another game in the same vain is needed. I will purchase Collectors Edition if that so happens!
This shooting gallery sparks your interest, but gets as generic as its name too fast. It serves as a solid variation of Time Crisis in VR, but leaves too much potential untapped.
We had some fun with Mortal Blitz's brief 90 minute campaign, but it’s hard to ignore the lack of imagination that’s gone into its makeup. For every moment of glee, mostly afforded by the VR headset than any real design philosophy, there’s an equal moment of disappointment. As a genre, it perfectly suits the VR medium, but the repetitive and uninspiring design leaves little to reflect on with too much positivity.
To those who remember the good old Time Crisis Games, this is a must have little gem. Just make sure to turn up the volume on options menu for a better experience. btw, not a 10 because the guns don't sound as great as they could, but otherwise, I had a BLAST!
The first impression of this game is exceptional, however the fun fades out every quickly with its tedious campaign and illy-performed story.
But, after all, it desires at least a 6 or 7 when finishing the first walkthrough, compared to the available games on VR market
However, the post-campaign design is beyond-imagination extraordinary bad.
- Meaningless difficulties and 3 forced exact same play-throughs (only difference is enemy's HP) (-1)
- God da*n training mode (-3). This mode is so stupid for its 30, 40 ,50 level. It is luck-based meaningless hard because of bad game mechanism
If you are 100% completion-er/ platinum hunter, please avoid this game. It is pain in the ass
Mortal Blitz is highly recommended Time Crisis like VR game. Unfortunately I don't see what everyone is talking about. The game is very short and generic. Overall just boring.
I was really unsatisfied/disappointed with this game. The trailer certainly makes it look like enough fun to warrant the price, however it falls far short of that when actually playing the game. The sound effects are either not there where you would expect them, or are plain terrible. The gameplay feels very static/rigid. You can move your guns around fine with the motion controllers as well as any game, but the enemies are so rigid and dull. You're never fooled into thinking any of these characters or monsters are possibly real in any context. The game is super short, and even the training mode won't last long until you are bored to tears with it. In training, getting to level 30 is super easy, then actually beating level 30 was pretty frustrating. The environments are not convincing, and you feel more like you are in a low budget version of MGS2 on the PS2. The good is that the game runs fine and had no glitches that I noticed in the short time I had with it until everything was finished. The biggest reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of maybe a 6 is that the price is way way too high for this experience. If it's on sale for $5-10 when you're reading this, it would be a fine game to grab if you're hungry to shoot at things with a gun in each hand and aren't expecting a polished game. The whole game feels very homemade. Sorry for the bad review but I was just very unhappy with the game for what I paid ($27 CAD). I ended up getting a refund which I would have done before playing for an hour and a half if I had thought of the idea. I was thinking I was stuck with the game and trying to get something out of it in a feeling-sorry-for-my-wallet type of way. If it was priced at a third of what it is, I would be giving a bit of a different review as you would be expecting what you're getting here.
