This is going to make me sound insane, but I never saw these titles as fighting games until now. They were just flashy vehicles for whatever Shonen Jump series Bandai Namco had gotten the rights to. And yet, underneath all that is a complex yet accessible game that rewards exploration, experimentation and practice. A proper fighting game, in other words. If you’re looking for another 3D fighter, give this one a shot. If you’re a My Hero Academia fan however, you absolutely can’t miss My Hero One’s Justice. This could be the start of something beautiful, after all.

My Hero One’s Justice is a good fighting game that shines the most in the multiplayer and that will be truly appreciated by those who already are fans of the manga/anime. Despite its lack of depth regarding single player content, it is an enjoyable experience due to the fine adaptation of the heroes and villains as well as because of its fun customization system.

The game's visuals and atmosphere are a blast and it is great fun to wield the expanisve variety of abilities. The combat system, while certainly playable, could use a bit more nuance, and storytelling seems confused about who its aimed at. Overall, My Hero One's Justice is a strong first entry with mountains of potential in what we hope will become a long running series.

There’s definitely fun to be had with My Hero One’s Justice. It’s super easy to pick up and play, the action is fast and beautiful to look at, and it does a great job of adapting the quirks and abilities from the anime to a 3D arena fighter. That fun eventually starts to fade away due to shallow combat and a weak story mode, but overall, it’s not a bad first endeavor.

This anime-styled fighter goes plus ultra for fans of the My Hero Academia franchise, but its lackluster single-player content feels phoned in.

My Hero One's Justice is an ideal fighting game for fans of the series. Unfortunately, the not particularly refined gameplay makes it a repetitive game in the long run.

After a while, the experience of playing the game can feel akin to being dropped into a TV show's previously-on segment.

The character roster is sometimes good, better than mha bfo, and the gameplay is simple. However unlike db FighterZ, you cant use their dub voices, just japanese. The cutscenes, in the story mode, suck. Their in a comic book style but use shots from the anime. This game has dlc, being shoot style Deku, Wind Guy From Provisional exam, and endevour. I feel the game is under rated, its good, for a while, it has great customization for characters, flash battles (similar to jump force) and over a fun game to play together. Expand

Think along the lines of smash, powerstone, etc etc, rather than something like dbfz or bbtag.

Are there problem areas? Damn straight. Story mode seems like an afterthought and something just sort of 'there', it's only real purpose is to unlock things, which is a huge downside if you're here for single player content. Controls are a bit simplistic for a fighter compared to other fighting games, which again, makes a lot of people unhappy, looking for something more serious.

The good? The game is very fun. Like, very fun. Environments get destroyed, everyone has crazy super moves, etc etc. It's flashy. It's fast. The more I've been playing it, the more fun it is. And it's very easy for people to get in to, but even for people looking to take a little more seriously will find some fun combos still. Is this enough to rate this as high as I did? I thought about that for a very long time, and I settled on yes. A lot of the modes and things in the game are half-assed and not really all that great, but it's core, multiplayer fighting, is fun enough to me to tip the scales. A lot of the negative reviews rate the game low because of the single player content - and rightfully so,but for me, I was never really going to fiddle with that unless I had to, so I didn't really take much off for that.

This will never be anything competitive. This is more of a fighter to just chill and have fun with, nothing serious, and you won't find any crazy insane tech that require ultra perfect timing, but that aside, you have something fast and fun, with MHA flavor.

The story mode is a slideshow of important fights from the series (for some reason starting in season 2) and gives just enough context to remind you when they took place but not enough to lend them any real emotional weight. I often found myself thinking as I ran about and jabbed at these balanced versions of very, very unbalanced characters from the series that I would probably have a better time just watching the actual fights again.

The combat is approachable and satisfying enough, but it's pretty clear that people are playing One's Justice for the Hero Academia characters, not the gameplay itself. Overall it's a decent fighting game mechanically but not enough to grip me or in any way enhance my love of the source material.
