Need for Speed Heat leaves a good taste: a enormous map, lots of races and missions to complete, good speed sensation and huge customization options (both in cars and avatar)... It feels like a greatest hits album, with the best parts from the previous 15 years of NFS remixed.

The combination of speed effects and (HDR) lighting is amazing and atmospheric - with a fairly constant image refresh of thirty frames per second. Only when you stand still does the lack of details on things such as shop premises stand out.

Need for Speed Heat may be a greatest hits collection of past success stories in an attempt to make up for the past, but it still pushes the pedal to the metal when it comes to being a guilty pleasure of pure street racing junk food that’s hot off the engine block.

Need for Speed Heat is a full open world racing game. It does just about everything the competition offers, but without thinking outside the box. Less generalist than Gran Turismo or Forza Horizon, which he comes closest, he is far from equal. However, it offers a good alternative to change the mood. Racing games in open world are no longer jostling at the gate anyway.

Need for Speed Heat is the best entry in the franchise for quite some time, but it's still not quite where it needs to be. The day vs. night gameplay is a compelling loop, and it's a big step in the right direction for the series in general. It's a solid effort with fun handling and lots of customisation options. It's a shame the open world lacks personality, and the police are perhaps a little too hardball, but there's still plenty to like. At the tail end of this generation, Need for Speed is back to being good -- let's hope it can be great in future.

Need for Speed: Heat clearly shows why the series needs a serious pause to reorganize itself.

An unnecessary release which cobbles together pieces from other, better racing games into a competent but dull experience. Save your cash and grab a copy of Burnout Paradise Remastered instead.

I ****** knew it, that a c***, I didn't wanna buy it and I was 100% right after playing the first 30 minutes at my friend's house I glad II ****** knew it, that a c***, I didn't wanna buy it and I was 100% right after playing the first 30 minutes at my friend's house I glad I didn't waste $60 for $10 game which is EA supposed to pay for people for play. First, annoying stuff is a technical issue is Frostbite engine it just does not run with racing game, you can see how building loading during the race and MOST CRUEL THEY COVER THIS BY RAIN WHICH IS PRETTY REGULAR IN THIS GAME. Secondary, game soundtrack the worst in history of NFS, etc. Rip of this engine from other games especially racing it's only for Battlefield smash walls and drop building. Secondly, cars physics if you played Forza Horizon 2,3,4 just skip wherever it's it or wait for price drop 80% minimum, I'm gonna buy on sale only. I have a much better vision statement to create the best NFS. I continue playing in Forza Horizon wait for a sale. P.S. developers experience a lot of problems due to creating that's game so. Expand

Back then, you could choke them, hang them from the rafters, write a note with your off hand, and consider it job done. Police didn’t check for rope burn, compare handwriting, etc.

If it looked good, and there were no signs of struggle, you could make a decent living out of manufacturing suicides.

Today, there are more variables one has to consider. Beyond vastly improved forensics, more thorough procedures, and a force driven by statistical successes, you have to - for example - avoid being hoisted by your victim’s social media petard.

Again, not to harp on about nostalgia or anything, but you could meet someone in a bar, get them drunk, strangle them in an alleyway, dump the body in the trunk and finish the rest at their home. Try that now, and you’ll be in a selfie or two with a crazy umbrella drink.

    Social media is self-surveillance.
