One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 has the unusual honor of being both one of the best anime-based games and best Warriors games I've ever played. It has its flaws, including the tiresome return of Giant foes and the usual Warriors repetitiveness, but it's a great example of how to reinvigorate something that seems like a tired formula. If you're a One Piece fan or a fan of the Warriors franchise, PW4 is absolutely worth a go. Once you've taken a bite of gum-gum, you won't be able to resist more.
While the missing story arcs are a disappointment, One Piece fans should be more than satisfied with One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4.

Even after you nerved Tashigi, do not only gave me carrot, but made her better than Tashigi. A genuine masterpiece, a must play for everyone. Don't play Giants they ruin it.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is a must-play for fans of the series, even if you aren’t caught up. The game shows just how varied a Musou title can get in terms of mission structure and map design. However, given the small number of playable arcs, it’s strange the story would waste two on arcs that were in the previous game. Still, this is one Pirate Warriors adventure that I was happy to go on.
A rare innovative Musou game, with tons of content but a handful of issues. If you can wrestle the camera into submission, and especially if your One Piece fan, One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 is full of treasure once you dig past its flaws.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 includes plenty of content, a lot of similar content where enjoyment is based on how well people gel with the mindlessly over the top, flashy, fun, combo system that is enhanced through the vast unique character move sets, skill selection and Power Rush mechanics. There are some genuine nice additions to the Warriors combat that gets to shine when characters are levelled up, and I hope these get carried to other entries and built upon. As it stands, this is the best Pirate Warriors to date, once it gets going, but it suffers from the repetitive issues and performance that this series is known for, while taking small, incremental steps to improve with each release.
With a vast amount of upgrades and a general feeling of rewarding players for their continued commitment, the game is equally clever in not taking advantage of the time players will no doubt invest. It may ultimately result in an iteration that doesn’t claim superiority over its previous forms, but even for those with virtually no care (neither prior nor ever) for the One Piece narrative, the delightful indulgence in the ridiculous is an attractive-enough proposal. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 in the end is another solid argument for, rather than against, the Warriors template of hack-and-slash being lent out to other brands.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is yet another action heavy entry in the spinoff series that will provide fans of the series with a fun experience for awhile before starting to feel very monotonous as a result of the lack of anything special to set itself apart from other games in the genre.

Why skip arcs? Why is Chopper limited to small handful of techniques we know he's capable of? Sanji's inability to fight women is a nice Easter egg, but it quickly gets old when you..... Idk.... Actually want to play as him more than once in a blue moon? While some characters have been involved in the story much longer, why skimp on development maps for others that haven't? Why are so many characters missing from the roster? Ceasars clown is shown in cut scenes. Why isn't he a playable character? Come on guys, you can do be better than this.

Terrible game, a disgrace for the anime unfortunately the game is so generic, the graphics looks like a PS3 game, don't waste your money 60$, wait and buy this game in sale.

reuses assests from every other warriors game INCLUDING the ps3 era.
It is noticeable as the game progresses that the character models and world all start improving. Until you enter the timeskip, it is very obvious that the you are playing the ps3 games.
After that the colours change in the level, and character models really **** not by much.
By 2020 standards this game looks abysmal.
The choice to make luffy yell the same thing every time he dashes was a terrible one
