    Outlast 2 could well be the scariest horror game I have played to date. There were a few very minor gripes, but the isolation, desolation, and desperation were noticeable throughout. The sense of fear was more impactful than in the first game, and there were parts where I played hiding behind anything I could get my hands on. I went to Temple Gate, and I did not enjoy my stay. And by that statement alone, I have to applaud Red Barrels for creating such a brilliant game.

    Outlast 2 is a good horror experience, but feels frustrating and too linear in some gameplay moments.

    Even after 13 hours of gameplay Outlast 2 continues to be a frightening experience. The game has some design problems, of course, but the flaws are forgiven when you get a true survival horror atmosphere all the way to the end.

    Outlast 2 is sadistic and violent without being subtle about it. Fear is not beneath the skin; it just hits you in the head like a hammer. It's not perfect, but it is great.

    Outlast II is a good game, if it does exactly as you please. Unfortunately, that is not always the case which makes for a very frustrating game.

    Outlast 2 has some great design elements, and the night-vision handy-cam mechanic is still scary. But the jump scares and gore don't mix right with the elements of psychological horror, and the story retreads horror tropes that didn't need retreading.

    Red Barrels's game is an immature and hateful slight at anyone who dares to believe in a divine creator.

    I played same 10 hours on this game, on normal (as my son advised me that Outlast games are really hard on hard).
    A- GRAPHICS- The game looks beautiful. Textures are very detailed. Frame rates are high. The atmosphere created submerses you into the game (also, it's half the price of an AAA game- it is as nice as RE7- leave the VR aside).
    B- STORY- This is not a game for kids or teenagers. The subjects on the games are reserved for Adults. I found it compelling so far, though I anticipate the ending will not reveal everything.
    C- Game play. Unlike RE7, you never feel safe, there is no safe room or weapons to protect you. That is thrilling. Mechanics are great and I haven't find a bug. Also, there is a lot of trial and error, so be ready to die several times reasonlessly. Also, I understand people complaining about the game being repetitive however I do not feel that way about the game.

There's not a whole lot of challenge to it, it's mostly just a lot of trial and error finding out where to go, and dying in between. The hallucination segments in the school seemed pointless to me, but then, the story doesn't exactly make sense anyway. Remember that WTF? ending in the first one? Get ready for another shot of that. This is NOT a 10. It was great for the first half hour. Great visuals and sound ect, seemingly more of the same outlast stuff. Until you reach the first enemy. Which is impossible to sneak by. She sees you by magic and just runs and a million and stabs you instantly killing you, over and over and over and over until you happen on the correct outcome by chance. This is the same for most of the game. Run run run and more run. It's garbage . Again the people giving this game a 10 are deluded. It's not scary just frustrating. Play any other horror game before this. It's such a disappointment after the first game was so great. Expand

    Worst game I've ever played and this is coming from a huge fan of the first game and even the DLC. There is no improvement other than graphicsWorst game I've ever played and this is coming from a huge fan of the first game and even the DLC. There is no improvement other than graphics because this game is clearly a recyclement of the first game, all enemies are pretty similar with the ones from the original, for example:

    Father Martin = Papa Knoth
    Marta = Chris Walker
    Laird and Nick = Doctor Trager
    Val = Eddie Gluskin
    Priest creature = Walrider

    There was NOBODY new.

    The story was confusing as **** why wait for a DLC just to understand the story? The DLC is definitely going to be a cash grab. This is not survival horror, it's a chasing simulator, it lacks puzzles, the pacing is awful and there is no point playing this game on hardest difficult other than earning achievements.

    If you want to play a real survival horror game with no confusing stories, Resident Evil 7 is your best option.
