An entertaining title that excels in coop. The main characters have loads of personality which makes for an entertaining adventure, rounded off by a fantastic score. Some puzzles are repeated far too often however and you can get stuck in the environments which is a bit sloppy. Nevertheless, Pode is well worth your time.

At its core, Pode is a fun puzzle platformer with some neat ideas. If players have a friend to sit down with, it’s a blast to run through, from its gameplay through to its cute design and great soundtrack. Solo play is still decent if a little awkward, but even then it’s easy to get lost in its charm.

Some flawed puzzles don't stop this beautiful, adorable platformer from being well worth your time.

Pode does a good job of being adorable, puzzling in all the right ways, and fun, all in the span of a few hours and while it’s worth mentioning the game seems a tad too short, the consistent pacing throughout makes it feel like a bit of a longer journey than it actually is. Despite camera issues that made the platforming and gameplay mechanics a bit more challenging than it needed to be, and although it could have used a more engaging storyline, the environments and the bond Glo and Bulder share bring an enchanted feel to the entire game that’s hard not to find charming all the way to the very last moment.

This is only a small puzzle adventure from Norway, but if you’re looking for a decent co-op-experience this might be it.

Coupled with a sedate soundtrack composed by Austin Wintory, a sonic sensation that enters your ear like waves lapping at a shore, it’s a relaxing experience from beginning to end. [Issue#161, p.84]

Players looking to tackle Pode on their own will experience a cute, fun puzzler with at least a few moments of challenge before the end. But those who bring a friend or significant other will arguably reap the greatest reward in this short but sweet wordless tale of love and friendship.

    an adorable journey home
Pode is a coop puzzle platforming game where you play as a rock and a star, as you try and climb a mountain to help the fallen star get home…
Pode can be played both single player as well as local coop, though I found it best played with someone else, I played as the rock character with my girlfriend and she played as the star.
Here youll be going through a 3 and a half hour adventure helping eachother progress with different abilities, as the rock youll be able to press pressure pads and pick up blocks, as the star youll be bale to bring plants to life, and as the game progresses unlock the ability to leave your light bubble behind as well as teleport to it…. All of these changes and additions to your abilities add to the challenge of these puzzles… you feel challenged throughout… and like a genius when you finally figure out a sequence of events that need to occur to get to the switch or get your partner to the section of the room they need to be in order to progress….though I did find the star characters position to be slightly more demanding than playing as the rock character, as most of the executing of the plans falls on your shoulders….
The challenge here though I feel is perfectly balanced, its gradual.. you get a nice break as you complete a series of an area and start a new series… it isn’t constant frustration… its like a smooth roller coaster which is nice and stops the game from getting overwhelming… the only negatives I found here are the end rooms of each section… none of the puzzles really made sense to me.. I wasn’t sure what was being asked of me most of the time.. and my girlfriend was too busy running around being a start to help me figure it out.. so wed just resort to youtube…
This again though is the only knock against this game…
Pode is adorable from start to finish as youre bringing life to this giant plant to climb and get your new star friend home…
    I give pode
    a 7/10
