How goes it, my dudes? It is I your friendly neighborhood PlayStation back with another interesting title.
Do you like a pool? I am pretty sure the fact your reading this means your interested at least or just looking for an office read.

Pool Nation is in fact just as is sounds, it is a game about billiard. And when I saw about billiards I'm talking simulation of high caliber. You can start your own career and advanced to pro-level over the course of a pretty realistic path or the sport. The game comes off a very true to life on the table, which is where this game shines. Physics, geometry and true-life feeling is the name of the game, boasting a robust amount of options to play at all skill levels. The options vary on a UI that adjusts with your shot allowing to see an overlay of your path and adjustments to how you intend to shoot. The very realistic sounds will remind you of the real thing as you break and sink shot every time. The tables and rooms of each event feel as they should, based on local and event level. The focus aside from the ever-popular career mode is multiplayer events and vs. Speaking of modes, there are tons of them!
Ranging from the classics such as 8 and 9 ball to 3 ball and golf. There is a lot of verity on cue and ball sets however lacking in player options. The sound effects are on point but the BGM is soul-shattering dull here. The game does its job well at being a very realistic sim, which I suppose the lack of BGM being more upbeat would make sense, especially at the higher end level.

    Pros:
the sound effects are the highest of caliber and hitting it on point with every aspect.

The physics could bring an avid pool player to tears capturing the "smooth" follow up required to get each shot right.

Looks and feels like what you'd expect from a sim style game.

The controls are great with a fine learning curve that does feel philosophically like pool.

    Cons:
The BGM is awfully dull no matter where you go.

The lack of "player" customization is kind of a bummer, would have been cool to see my avatar rising up as a star.

(It made miss playing pool with my old man)

Pool nation very much delivers on its name. It truly is all about pool and all of the ways its played. Down to the point of adding house or bar rules if desired. Anyone who's up for a quick match or looking for fun for a short bit would do well here.

With this all said I give this game a final rating of:
    7.5

Honestly, if you like pool and laid back experiences this is a solid game and could have been an 8 or even a 9 if it had just a little more to it.
