As Shantae gets caught up in the island's sinister secrets, she'll use all-new dance abilities and instant-transformation Fusion Magic to explore the nonlinear, interconnected world where she'll visit multiple towns, overcome treacherous labyrinths, and battle dastardly bosses. The game also features a new collectible card system that grants players the freedom to augment Shantae's powers to suit their own style of play.

    Shantae and the Seven Sirens stays true to classic entries but pushes the series forward with the inclusion of unique abilities and new characters. Thankfully the game’s smartphone roots don’t appear to hold back the console experience, and we are left with one of the best Shantae games to date. The load times and lack of direction might cause a few points of frustration, but not enough to make this experience any less enjoyable.

    Shantae and the Seven Sirens is a game meant to be enjoyed. We understand some fans won’t like it’s lack of challenge, but we’ve certainly had a great time with it.

    Shantae and the Seven Sirens is another enjoyable game in the Shantae franchise. The open world and exploration could be streamlined a little but the characters and gameplay are as enjoyable as ever with great animations and abilities.

    As well as transforming abilities, you unlock room-affecting powers as you progress, and these are a lot more iffy– indications of where to use some are irritatingly lacking. The lack of map markings for currently impassable objects or collected heart pieces also feels a bit annoying.2 Still, it’s a lot of fun throughout its short duration, and the cartoony surface is backed up by plenty of heart. It’s not the best game of its type, but it’s an example worth playing. [Issue#178, p.76]

    But perhaps 2D platformers aren't the future for her now. Perhaps it's some for something a little more narrative-focused rich in the worldbuilding, to play to the properties' actual strengths, because after five 2D platformers, I'm now getting tired of being teased that there's more to all this, but never actually getting the promise of a fully realised Shantae fantasy.

    This game was super fun to play, I would consider buying it even though it may feel similar to the previous game it was still fun

    I love Shantae! Awesome game, it's a fun happy time. Definitely worth buying, WayForward is a quality company.

    Absolutely love the Shantae series the charaters are all fun an lovable. The bosses are really interesting and designed well.

    As with the other games in the series the metroidvania style of play having to run back and forth trying to unlock new areas and transformations. I would definitely say this is probably the easier side of the series especially if you are looking to plat the game. This unfortunately means the final boss which although fun and interesting didn't really put up much of a fight. Would have liked a bit more of a challenge - even the speed run wasn't too bad (except for the dancing coconut shy - that mini game nearly made me burst a blood vessel).

A partire dalle sezioni iniziali, il videogioco saprà catturare il giocatore grazie alla sua estetica, all’umorismo di fondo e alla sua struttura di gioco. Quest’ultima, sebbene non presenti molte differenze rispetto a quella dei capitoli precedenti e non offra un gran livello di sfida, può soddisfare ampiamente chi sia disposto a cimentarsi in un’avventura che scorre piacevolmente. Infine, anche il carisma della sua protagonista e degli altri personaggi contribuisce a consolidare un prodotto che nel complesso risulta più che buono.

    Es un juego para disfrutarlo sin complicarse demasiado, la dificultad es casi nula ya que casi desde el principio puedes hacer upgrade rápido de armas, así que no vas a tener ningún problema con los enemigos normales o los bosses.
    Como cualquier metroidvania tienes que adquirir nuvas habilidades a lo largo de la historia y luego revisitar sitios antiguos que sin estas habilidades no podias entrar, pero la verdad que no requiere mucha exploración ya que casi todo es bastante directo.
    Asi que en general, una buena entrada al mundo de los metroidvania, con unos controles buenos, unas habilidades un tanto diferentes y muy sencillo, para jugar sin complicaciones por unas 8 horitas que dura el juego.    … Expand

    The game is the closest I have played of the shanty game to a Castlevania Symphony of the Night kind of game Just one big map you have to explore.

    It is relaxing adventure but is no will challenge, you get so much food and it's so easy to replenish it that there's no real possibility of dying.

    The journey is easy a off find out ,only one time I was stuck and had to watch a walkthrough to find out where I was supposed to go.

    This is my second favourite shantae game I have played just behind the pirate.    … Expand
