Gamers can play as the memorable characters from the original trilogy such as Darth Vader and Boba Fett. Star Wars Battlefront features a wide range of modes tailored for different types of battles, from larger 40-person competitive multiplayer to crafted missions that are played solo, with a partner via split-screen offline or co-operatively online. Star Wars Battlefront might not be terribly considerate of solo players and its by-design accessibility might deter DICE’s hardcore Battlefield fans, but there’s no denying the multiplayer is a hell of a lot of fun, and as far as creating the feeling of being part of a Star Wars movie, it doesn’t get any better than this.

A brilliant Star Wars experience, but with limited life-span and little depth. [Christmas 2015, p.76]

As Star Wars fever builds ahead of The Force Awakens, Battlefront's brand of accessible multiplayer mayhem is definitely going to make a lot of people happy this Christmas. Sure, it could do with a campaign and sometimes it's a bit too shallow for its own good, but Battlefront is also one of the most authentic Star Wars experiences you can have outside of kissing your sister - "for luck" - and scrapping with your dad.

Star Wars: Battlefront has great potential, but its lack of content certainly lowers the experience. Fans might forgive this but we know that at least for now the game is still just a demo.

Star Wars Battlefront is a good Star Wars game, but an average multiplayer shooter. If you have any love for a galaxy far, far away, you'll get a real kick out of the taking part in its fun, large scale battles, and your reverence for the source material may even be enough to keep you coming back despite its shortcomings. If, on the other hand, you're after the next big shooter to keep you occupied longer term, the limited weaponry and simplified customisation mean that this isn't the game that you're looking for.

Right now, it’s bigger than life, feels good while you're enjoying it, but is somewhat disappointingly hollow.

With five tutorial missions, nine multiplayer game types and two single player modes, spread across 12 maps, Battlefront feels massive yet most of its modes wind up feeling like chores.

This may be why some users don't like it but I think the gameplay is awesome! I love how you can play different characters, use different weapons, and recreate wars and battles from Star Wars. I love how the original soundtrack composed by the genius John Williams is played theoughout the game too! You have to level up though to get access to more weapons and outfits. If you are a newbie, you need to work up the latter just like reality. When I played this with my boyfriend, for the first time, we fell asleep later that night and I startled him awake by yelling, " we need opposition forces NOW!!" Over and over. I never sleep talk, that is how much of an impact this game
made on me. It helps when you are playing on a high HD tv with incredible surround sound too.

The graphics are beyond amazing and the sound is unbelievable through my surround sound system but its lacking depth in parts of the game. The "campaign" is lacking in every possible area on the only reason it gets mentioned is because there is somewhat of a story.

This game does not go beyond the title, in terms of game depth, because it is really a battlefront and heavily focuses on the various battles that are happening during the rebellion. I wish it had more of a story line but I can settle with this. I imagine the next installment will have a story based on the new trilogy.

At least the graphics and sounds are fantastic, but i could load up on some LSD and clean my flower garden and have a deeper and more rewarding experience than picking up some dead stormtroopers mario money in this game. Some of you may say "Hey now! they've added lots of exciting DLC and expansions!" well hemorrhoids can be exciting also, and i could play with that offline (unlike the DLC) but it cant fix an already painful BM session. Battlefront is the painful BM of the year. It gave me some long hard BMs just by being awful and shallow and reaching into my wallet while i had my pants down for the said BM. how could you EA. You destroyed a franchise, a classic, a memory, and a perfectly good digestive tract. Shame on you. Expand

I'm so happy I didn't buy it. I played the game while over at a friend's to finally see what it was like. Nothing like the old BF games. God this was the worst thing ever. It killed me man. No story mode, no real command posts it seems either? I only played the tutorial flying mission, which had the crappiest controls,a ""hero"" battle on Hoth with me as Luke and my friend as Vader?? What the frick is that? GAH. And in the regular battle mode you only have one base character and the builds don't even correspond to the personnel it seems and you can't even be a hero in regular battle. AND you can't be on the same team. Recalling older BF games there were several game modes and the fields were way more expansive than what I played on split screen with my friend. i didn't get a chance to try the online multiplayer, but I'll say this- I am not going to purchase this game or any DLC until like a year from now and its a used/pre-owned one, cause Lord knows there'll be a ton of them by this time next year.
