Outer Rim is an honest DLC offering beautiful cards, a new and fun way and some attractive novelties. For holders of season-pass it is a very good opportunity to do it again. Indeed, the content does not necessarily justify the 14.99 & euro;. Unless you are a big fan of Greedo or Nien Nunb. It's up to you.

Outer Rim is a good addition for Star Wars: Battlefront, but it doesn't represent a reason to buy the full game.

Even though I generally dig Outer Rim, I think it's a fairly tough sell as a standalone add-on given the current pricing. If you're way into the game, specifically the smaller modes, it has some of the better content in all of Battlefront. But otherwise, I'd stick with the free updates for now and wait to see how the three other packs in the season pass play out before committing to the full bundle.

I still don’t see a reason to drop $50 on a season pass for Battlefront, but I do feel that when the Outer Rim is made available for everyone on April 5th, it is a pretty good buy at $15 (if you are still playing Battlefront or looking to pick up Battlefront). The 4 new maps all feel very different from each other and I really ended up liking how the new Heroes & Villains play.

It is tough to recommend the Outer Rim expansion, because it doesn't highlight any of Star Wars Battlefront's stronger points. You are basically getting more of the same, and if that is what you are looking for, that is what you will get.

Star Wars: Battlefront's first foray into DLC proves to be a mixed bag with uninspiring heroes and a couple of dud maps failing to match the caliber of the new Extraction game mode and Jabba's Palace level.

When Star Wars Battlefront first launched it was criticised for lacking maps. DICE has done a great deal to address this in free updates (to date, three new large scale maps and one small), putting rest to any notion that these paid expansions are a cynical cash-in. It may not be exactly what people want – that's sure to come later – but the Outer Rim DLC offers a good package for fans of a game once criticised for not having longevity, but which on this evidence has a bright and long future.

And it comes with a great new location – Jabba’s Palace. I love exploring this palace, even when I’m not fighting – sometimes I’ll wander around just looking at things.

Worth it for sure – and I anticipate the same from Bespin and the Death Star – get the Season Pass, I did.

EA pushes out their first DLC for Battlefront! So, is it worth your time and money? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

First of all, no new planets?
EA pushes out their first DLC for Battlefront! So, is it worth your time and money? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

First of all, no new planets? Seriously? Just a few maps that were available on launch for Battlefront II? Are you kidding me? Well, let's just start the review!

    1. No New Planets
    Read the text above

    2. More Unbalanced Star Cards And weapons
Outer Rim adds 2 new Star Cards and 3 weapons, Dioxis Grenade, Scatter Gun, Adreline Stim (Star Cards), Relby V-10 Rifle and DT-12 Blaster (Weapons). But you'll never use any of these since you have to earn them by completing Hutt Contracts, which takes alot of time. And it's not even worth completing them.

    3. More "Iconic" Heroes
Outer Rim also adds 2 new "Iconic" Heroes to play as, well one of them is a Villain. Nien Numb and Greedo. You may be thinking "Well they're not really iconic are they, in fact who is Nien Numb?" Well, in that case you are 100% correct. None of these characters are iconic, they just had a few lines in 1 movie (A New Hope & Return of the Jedi). If you still don't know who Nien Numb, he's the alien who sat next to Lando in Return of the Jedi. Actual iconic heroes and villains would be better. You know like Yoda, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, Grand Moff Tarking, just a few examples of characters who did more than just talk.

    4. New Maps
Outer Rim features 4 new maps to play on. Jabbas Palace and some factory on Sullust. Which is a total rip off since Jabbas Palace was already in Battlefront II at launch, and they promised us new planets. Sullust Factories doesn't count as planets, EA.

    5. 1 New Mode
Outer Rim also gives you a new gamemode to play on! It's called Extraction. It's basically just like TF2's payload gamemode. The only difference is that Extraction is already dead.

That's pretty much all that Outer Rim offers. Some weapons, star card, maps, a gamemode and 2 "Iconic" characters from the Star Wars universe. So no, this really isn't worth your money. It also made the base game worse by adding a forced playlist.
