Stubbs The Zombie in Rebel Without A Pulse is a fine remaster, warts and all. It’s the best way to play this fun game without the expense of an original Xbox and an increasingly rare disc copy. Yes, there’s the technical issue and the occasional crash, but it’s none the worse for it.

Even though its gameplay mechanics are a bit dated and there aren't much improvements over the original game, the remastered version of Stubbs the Zombie is still one of the most unique experiences you can have, especially if you missed it 15 years ago.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse isn’t a terrible game by any stretch of the imagination, but once the novelty of playing as a zombie has worn off, it’s rarely fun. It’s dated in just about every way imaginable, and while those who fondly remember it from many years ago might get a kick out of taking control of Stubbs once again, newcomers are probably just going to left wondering why his corpse has been reanimated once more. With some fresh ideas I’d like to encounter Stubbs again one day, but his original outing now just carries the stench of decay.

The game is solid — stable frame rate, the assets look as good as they possibly could without an overhaul, and the modernised controls are a demonstrable improvement. Hit detection is a little sluggish, but it's worth the price of entry for getting a peek at such an oddity. While saying the game lacks focus could be construed as an insult, it’s truly fascinating to see a game made with, for its time, such a high level of quality that wears so many different hats. And for that, we appreciate the opportunity to experience it in the modern era.

Game is fun but crashes to frequently. If they fix this I think it's definitely worth it .

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse
    More dead than alive
Stubbs the zombie is a 4 hour long 3rd person action adventure gamewhere you play as the stubbs the zombie… and this is a really charming game, futuristic yet vintage in the way fallout is… the humour, the abilities you gain throughout your playthrough, bowling with your head, detaching your arm and taking of the bodies of enemies, farting on a crowd of cops, you can even play this game with another person… but ultimately it just doesn’t hld up.. the charm wears off about 30 minutes in and struggles to ome back as the game goes on… I just didn’t find it fun, it was more frustrating to me trying to get through oceans of guns, whistling to my brain dead zombie army in hopes that they’ll follow me and help me move on… but the checkpoint ystem is just awful here with how much it expects you to take on at a time, its frustrating to get through levels in general not knowing which way to go or what youre supposed to be doing, and the levels and envorinment are just super bland and uninteresting, no insentive to explore, no even wanting to explore if there were because of the annoying checkpoint system and risk of so much progression loss, no excitement of whats aroundthe next corner, this is just overall a pretty bland game that’s nothing but dumb fun.. until again youre over the fart jokes…
Stubbs the zombie has charm, it has body dismemberment, but the overall experience is only flesh deep..
prepare to be bored and frustrated if youre here playing for your first time rather than sharing and reliving a game you loved from 16 years ago…
