Sublevel Zero Redux brings something new to the FPS genre. Despite it's minor oddities, it's a well-rounded game that deserves to be in everyone's library.

Sublevel Zero Redux offers its players quite a challenge, though the crafting could've been more in-depth. Besides that a very enjoyable game.

If you have some nostalgia for classics like Forsaken or Descent you’re going find a lot to enjoy here in Sublevel Zero Redux and if you’re new to this type of gameplay experience, well, this is a great place to jump in too. Pleasing on the eyes and ears and featuring smooth gameplay that deftly balances relaxing exploration and intense combat, Sublevel Zero Redux will keep you up late at night as you continuously say to yourself… “Just one more try”.

Sublevel Zero Redux is one of the most ambitious roguelikes due to its impressive combination of genres and intuitive gameplay. Although a few unfortunate drawbacks make it a less than stellar experience, genre enthusiasts should definitely check this one out.

Sublevel Zero takes the lost six degrees of freedom genre, injects some roguelike elements and leaves you with an entertaining but very short shooter that knows how to give you just enough rope to hang yourself. This is a clever little arcade title and we’ve enjoyed it but there are questions over the value for money.

The redux versions on console are definitely more entertaining than their PC brother – mainly thanks to the various difficulty levels, more areas and fresh enemies. But some main problems like the missing flow you’d associate with Descent-style games are still existent.

If you have a longing for another game similar to Descent and Forsaken, Sublevel Zero Redux is it.

Sublevel Zero Redux is Devloped by Sigtrap Games and Published by Merge Games for the PlayStation 4.
The story starts with a Universe that it falling apart from storms due to an unkown cataclysmic event. Humanity has been scattered and the majority of the past has been lost.
You are a member of a clan that seeks knowledge that has stumbled upon an uncharted system with a facility that is guarded by automated defenses. Upon inspection you learn that the facility is the cause if the storms and everything around you disappears into the fabric of reality. Your only option is to enter the facility in hopes of finding answers and a way back home.
The gameplay revolves around you in a gunship defending yourself against automatic defenses in a labyrinth of levels. With the available upgrades for your gunship and weapons, this game gives the player a variety of ways to advance your gameplay.
I have enjoyed playing this Retro style game that has me coming back for more.
Scoring this title was tough, If you die it restarts a new game. This sci-fi game sort-of acts like a survival game which does not make giving it a Quick Review Rundown Score any easier.
After spending some time thinking about the games pros and cons I've scored Sublevel Zero Redux a 7 / 10. (Good)
