Even a couple of odd design decisions don't get in the way of the high-octane thrills here, thankfully. [Issue#253, p.70]
Whether you played the PSM version or not Switch Galaxy Ultra is still just really fun.

This game is GREAT! I usually don't play games like this, but it is truly addictive and insanely fast paced!
It's a challenging game. The controls are easy to master, but the gameplay is everything but easy :D
And knowing that this game donates all their profits to Caudwell Children (charity)!
Truly a great job on this game! Can't wait for another game of this developer!

This game is really fun, addictive and looks great. There's not a challenge, you cannot loose but if you want a game just to lay back and relax after hard day at work than this is the game for you!

Switch Galaxy Ultra is a fun game to play in small bursts. When you are whizzing through the tracks at great speed it is exhilarating. However, it loses its focus when it adds gameplay barriers that detract from the quick paced nature of the game.
Switch Galaxy Ultra is the PS4 version of one of the dozen of endless runner that you've stumbled upon in the last three years on your smartphone or tablet. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you're willing to block out the story and to seek out the challenges that SGU provides too many ways to avoid, a deceptively fun and enticing arcade racer is there for the taking.
Switch Galaxy Ultra is an endless runner in which the player has to steer (or more accurately switch) their spaceship between up to five lanes in order to avoid obstacles, collect orbs and hit boost pads. As with plenty of other PS+ offerings over the last year or so this is another title that would be fine played in shorts bursts while sitting on the train or bus but, with the wealth of alternatives available on modern consoles, I never felt the urge to invest all that much time in it. The gameplay is just too simplistic and, even with the upgrades that can be made to your ship(s), it doesn’t evolve in any meaningful way from start to finish.

I liked the comics - they kept me in the game for a while, only they
but other parts.. garbage, garbage, garbage. At one moment I was really stuck how to travel between planets.

Currently on PSN for free for PS+ members ... is it worth it....
yeah, just about.
Styled like a mash-up between a cyber-punk-comic and F-Zero (Nintendo classic), Switch Galaxy Ultra is a reflex game. Already my partner has taken to it well as it's controls consist of "push left" go left, "push right" go right and X to boost. This simplicity is why the games actually okay, easy to pick up and put an hour or two into and casually return to another day.
It is what it is - feels like a glossy app for a tablet, but it plays well. Perhaps more use of the music would of brought a little more to the game - ie - having the music in sync with movement or speed etc

Poor graphics, boring and repetitive gameplay... Upgrades and different ships change nothing... I was expecting something more, but i was dissapointed. I don't recommend.

Literally just switch between 2-4 lanes to avoid colored sheets of glass. That's the entire game for 50 levels. Super boring and repetitive. Upgrades and different ships change nothing, as well as the few little things they add. Some parts you are going too fast and theres too much stuff and theres no way you cant get hit. Has all the variety and interesting gameplay of a flash game. Only redeeming part is when you're going really fast and avoiding stuff it does that thing where you feel funny in your stomach and balls.
