The team writes intelligent, worthy scenarios and narratives, and then they do the best they can to build gameplay to support that concept.

The Technomancer tries hard to grab some originality in a very congested genre market. While it doesn't always stand out on its own, it does enough with a familiar formula and a solid story to make it more than worth your time. The Techomancer's tale is certainly one worth telling.

Filled with goodwill, The Technomancer is one of the best RPG from Spiders, but the overall quality and the lack of budget take their toll on the final result which only offers a mild feeling.

The Technomancer is an ambitious sci-fi RPG limited by the realities of budgets. Fun and intriguing, but lacking polish and certain genre staples.

The Technomancer might have been the beginning of a new and fresh role playing-series in the hands of a more experienced developer, like Bioware. It's a game worth playing for its story and setting, but the game's full potential is never realized.

Good for a fight, dull for everything else. [Issue#176, p.81]

The developer's ambition to make a triple-A title without the resources of a larger studio gets the better of them.

Beatiful graphics and lighting make for jaw dropping landscapes, great story, characters and choice you make matter. A main character that is powerful in damage yet weak in health work with the plotline immersion. The game actualy make you want to do the bad options unlike most games. More enemy diversity than a mass effect game that allows you to actualy fight non human races. It has flaws in basicaly only human graphics of unimportant npc. Expand

Brilliant. Whilst it hasn't got the polish or smoothness of Mass Effect, it's definitely up there with it for quality RPG enjoyment. What theBrilliant. Whilst it hasn't got the polish or smoothness of Mass Effect, it's definitely up there with it for quality RPG enjoyment. What the game does so well is give you that immersive feel to lose yourself in through great music, great environments, and a fresh feeling plot. But it doesn't stop there, that is also backed up by cracking combat (although character build does affect that - and playing as a Rogue made my experience a lot more enjoyable) and interesting characters. The missions and whole game feel episodic, and the relationship which you develop between your commanders, companions and other characters become the real focus of the game alongside political shifts, with the missions serving as a great vehicle to bind all that together. It's a criminally underrated game, and personally I've found it to be the best PS4 game which I've played so far. It's definitely flawed, and there are jarring moments which highlight the gulf between this & an AAA game. But they are fairly rare, whereas the "man this is awesome" moments are a lot more common. If you like action-RPGs this is simply a must buy. Expand

    Quite enjoyable, but quickly forgettable.

If there had been a little more fluidity to enemy spawning rates and locations then things might have been a bit more interesting. But, no. The enemies were in the exact same spot every time, and followed the same attack pattern without fail. Which isn't much fun, but did allow for easy grinding.

The skill tree looked interesting, but I didn't bother with it. Seemed like a lot of fuss and nonsense to be honest. Lock-picking and a good knife was all I needed, even on hard mode. Which, it turned out, wasn't.

Every character has a story. It's up to you if you want to know about their particular sad tale. Yes, they're all sad. If you do bother speaking in detail then you get 'rewarded' with a buddy mission. Which "warms your soul". Apparently.

The game looks nice, plays well, and given that it's often on sale now then you might as well play it.

I picked it up on a PSN sale for $10, I played for about 10 hrs and gave up on it. I enjoyed the combat system, the RPG elements and the setting of the game. The graphics are average and the voice acting is terrible. The story did not really grab me and make me interested in continue playing. I have to many games in my back catalog to play instead of wasting my time on sub-par games. This game seems like a fusion of Mass Effect and Witcher but doesnt achieve greatness as those games did. I would pass on this game if I was you. Expand
