Instead of employing trivial jump scare tactics, Visage expertly toys with your senses and messes with your head, first causing uneasiness, and then evoking authentic fear. There’s no reason to weep for the cancelled Silent Hills anymore. We’ve got Visage, the best horror game of the year, maybe even the best in years. [13/2020, p.51]
Visage is quite possibly the most oppressive experience we've had since Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The variety of gameplay and terrifying set pieces make this surreal nightmare of human psyche and things lurking in the dark, a must play.

I normally don't write reviews, but Visage was different, so I felt obligated to write one
The atmosphere and the vibe generally felt dark and depressing, maybe lonely, mix that with random events happening throughout the game and the sense that everything seems normal but isn't.
The game also doesn't give you much to work with at first, that's maybe a bit confusing, but the game eventually unfolds itself, and it's worth pulling through with it
Visage for me is psychological horror at its finest, and something no horror fan should miss out on

Visage drapes over you like some ghastly blanket, smothering you with unsettling ambiance and high-quality scares. Though it fumbles a certain stretch of gameplay, its otherwise meticulously designed structure, head-scratching puzzles, and creative manipulation of level design more than pick up any slack.
Visage is a game survival horror fans must experience for themselves at least once to fully appreciate, even with its flaws. Watching the game through the eyes of a streamer simply does not compare to the masterful way it manipulates its players emotions and tension levels. Visage is not just another edgy PT wannabe, and if players can get past the controls and be patient with the puzzles, they're in for a genuinely frightening ride.
Clearly recommended for all fans of horror games.
A more than discreet survival horror that stands out among its congeners.
Visage is one of the most terrifying games I’ve ever played, full stop, but it’s not going to be for all horror fans. The game’s perplexing puzzles, convoluted story, and rough edges will turn off some, but if you can stick it out, there’s a good chance it will eventually sink its hooks into you. Good horror can take time to process, and I believe Visage’s dark presence will only grow with time.
A must play for horror fans.
If you are a hardcore fan of horror games or just horror in general, you must play this game. Overall, as a game it is a 7/10 kind of game, but for us die hard horror fans, it's a 1000/10, by far the best horror experience I've ever had

I thought overall it was a very effective and entertaining horror experience. The look and sound of the game was on point and they managed to create a truly terrifying game. That being said, the inventory system was annoying that you only have the 5 slots and to then have to awkwardly carry round two things at once in your hands. On top of that I never even used most of the items anyway, with the main thing being the lighter to constantly allow me to see. The insanity meter was one of the most pointless things I've seen in a game, as it had little bearing on the game and after the first maybe hour of gameplay I never paid any attention to it or took the meds to lower it. I usually enjoy games with puzzles but I felt like Visage didn't have many puzzles that required much thought but instead just required that you run around the house over and over again to find the one little thing you missed to advance the game. I think this studio will do well on their next game, there were a lot of positives here in terms of presentation but the delivery on the gameplay was lacking. Hoping they step away from the PT copycat genre as well as it's been done to death now.

What a shock, the best horror game of all time has a 3.8 rating from the brainless masses that are gamers.
Anyway, the first two chapters of this game are by far the best horror experiences you will ever have. Smart scares, decent gameplay, brilliant atmosphere.
The last two chapters are a real let down. It feels like the developer ran out of money or interest.
The overall story is good, but definitely very reminiscent of Silent Hill 2 and all the other psychological horror it produced.

The game i feel like has lot more work to do..., atmosphere and some of scares are good at times that about it the scares get old and the house direction is horrible take a look at PT and layers of fear original resident evil,dark souls even i know the game says it suppose to be hard but it made it hard to truly appreciate the scares and atmosphere ,i got about 40 hours into the game (finished after a walk through), i mostly got turned around a ton because of bad lay out design, and some of the story don't make sense (at-least to me) controls are a bit atrocious at times but it will a place in the back of my mind that they could of done better.

Shockingly bad controls on ps5, the carrying and inventory systems are atrocious, immersion is not possible because of them. Tried for 3 hours, deleted, waste of good money (£15+)
