While lacking in the charm department, VR Karts captures the fun and chaos of kart-racing really well in virtual reality.

While the immersion is interesting at first, you’ll soon discover that there is a lack of variety in almost every aspect: track design, visuals, challenge level, content in general.

VR has been around for a while now and just being in VR isn’t enough. Like any other kart racer we want interesting levels, tight controls and fun power ups. VR Karts doesn’t deliver any of that. The VR is welcome but without it, there would be literally no reason to own this.

VR Karts features nothing but being an exclusive karts game on the VR platforms. The gameplay isn’t tight enough, it lacks original fun content and even the power-ups are totally boredom. With so many good karts game on the gaming history, it’s surprising that a game developer will deliver such a bad experience.

Even, if for some reason, you happen to take a liking towards VR Karts, it’s not worth £34.99 of anyone’s money and exposes the imaginary premium that studios are putting on games simply because it says VR in the title. It’s such a sour point to end on, but even if it were priced accordingly, VR Karts rarely peaks above mediocrity.
