WRC 7 is undoubtedly 2017’s most exciting rally game, held back only by an overall experience that makes the same mistakes as its predecessor.

WRC 7 is better than its predecessor but is still far from its direct rival DiRT. It offers a good career mode, with all the official tracks of FIA Rally championship and many improvements. The physics of the vehicles and the graphics have to be improved.

There are several visual as well as gameplay improvements, but there is still a long way to go for the WRC franchise in order to take advantage of its full potential and be worth of the brand it embodies. The adding of Epic Stages or split screen is an interesting offer, although we expected much more from a game like this.

WRC 7 is an interesting iteration on the previous titles. It doesn't make great strides but the accessible handling provides some simple thrills. The license brings some scenic stages, even if the visuals aren't finely tuned, and I will never get tired of hearing a rally exhaust. It's enjoyable, if lacking in complexity and options.

After the almost disastrous game of 2016, Kylotonn listened to the complaints of the community and corrected many of the problems. The result is a truly exhilarating racing game, with a touch of simulation, that manages to transfer to the player the sense of speed and danger when driving in the difficult conditions of WRC. There’s still room for improvements, but the right path has been set.

If you needed proof that some games end up putting out what you yourself put in, WRC 7 is likely the closest the series has gotten into successfully drawing in the more casual players, all the while maintaining the series’ raw and challenging simulation edge.

WRC 7 It is not the game rally lovers deserve. It repeats the same mistakes from last year, spoiling the potential of the official WRC license.

this game is amazing! I preordered dirt 4 on ps4 but this game is much more interesting than this codemasters sh*t. first i wanna say that imthis game is amazing! I preordered dirt 4 on ps4 but this game is much more interesting than this codemasters sh*t. first i wanna say that im not a fan of wrc game series because sooner games like wrc 5,6 was total disaster. but in this game i fall in love from first gameplay. new handling physics is awesome to this title. now you can feel speed of wrc car and there is a lot of chance that you dont stay on the road. my pros and cons:

    PROS:
    -30FPS STABLE on PS4 not like wrc 6 with freezes and stuttering;
-improved graphics (models of cars are very nicely projected and the game engine have added lens flares and glow which is very nice)
    -long, narrow stages
-repairing cars after stages like in cmc rally 2
    -license
    -handling physics
    -cars left dirt on tracks
    -amazing weather effects
-better view from inside the car
    -special stages mode
    -career mode
-difficult races on PRO mode on

    CONS:
    -fans could have better textures
    -co-pilot is only "good"
-replays are not so good as in DIRT series

so the game is awesome and i like it! dont listen sh*t opinions like this is the same wrc as was in last years.. no! i dont listen it i watched few really good reviws, buy and this wasnt a waste of money because the fluid gameplay and beauty graphics compared with smooth gameplay is awesome!

WRC 7 is such a huge step up from previous titles that I don't get how IGN could give WRC 5 a 6.6 and WRC 7 a 6.0! This game gives similar sensations as DiRT Rally.

Kylotonn has really done a good job this time. The physics are excellent. Pure simcade: correct handling, albeit not very complex. Surprisingly realistic for an official title. Keep in mind that I love Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO's handling so I lean towards the sim side, but the handling model in WRC 7 is very satisfying. You can (have to) play with the weight of the car and modulate throttle and brake. The 2017 cars are absolute beasts; massive acceleration and grip and they need some real fast reactions to slide correctly. Also great that the 2016 WRC cars are there as it's nice to also take more toned-down runs once in a while. Ditto with the WRC2 R5 cars. I do not like the R2 class, though. For FWD they feel fine on asphalt but on gravel the're way too easy to slide. Feel more like a Lancia Stratos than a FWD Fiesta. But I doubt anyone gets this to drive R2 cars!

The stages are mind-blowing. Although they are re-used from WRC 6, it's hard to even recognize them due to the amount of detail added this time, plus they are much narrower and more bumpy. It was a bit of a letdown to see that the epic stages are just the sum of the shorter stages, but at least sometimes they are reversed. I did the Monte Carlo epic stage and it was... well, epic! Flying down the straights, through tunnels, snaking through the hairpins, the junctions, the constant change from tarmac to snow and back to tarmac. It's an incredible experience, and the car handling compliments nicely. The stage ambiance is excellent in each rally and there are lots of famous landmarks and jumps and turns that can be recognized.

Sounds continue to be average but they do their job. On my 7.1 home theater I love hearing the stones bounce off the sheet metal through the surround speakers.

Replay angles still suck but at least that retarded camera that stares at the front bumper is gone.

Force feedback with the G29 is decent. It's nothing special but does what it has to do: communicate what the car is doing. That said, it's tough to commend any FFB after being spoiled by Assetto Corsa. Pad feeling is great, the best I have felt in a rally game this generation, but both pad and wheel need tweaking in the setup menu: both are way too twitchy out of the box. On the G29 lowering the steering sensitivity helps a lot. I use 40%. And you can adjust on the fly in the pause menu while racing so no need to go back to the main menu.

Graphics are good. Better than DiRT 4 but not quite at DiRT Rally level. Light years ahead of Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO (which is still my favorite rally game). With the game being locked at 30fps I think they could have been better, but they do the job just fine. 2K on the Pro looks nice as do the improved textures and shadows. I would have appreciated HDR. I would have given a score of 9 if it weren't for the 30fps. That's inexcusable and the only big fault the game has. However, it is locked at 30 and doesn't go down from there from what I've seen. I prefer that to a target of 60fps with constant drops and slowdown. Screen tearing has been completely eliminated in WRC 7. Draw distance is practically infinite. Very little popup. The light modeling is fantastic. Dawn and dusk look especially nice. A huge leap forward from 6 but still room for improvement. If you're coming from DiRT Rally or Project CARS the 30fps is a bit jarring at first but it only takes five minutes to acclimatize and it doesn't affect gameplay. I tend to be less sensitive to this than many others, so keep that in mind.

Multiplayer is fun and it's nice to see local split screen and Hotseat mode, which is an absolute blast with friends. You can also make a custom rally season and choose various stages over three days. Nice thing to have if you think the career rallies are too short. AI speed on Hard and Hardcore are very challenging so even the fastest drivers will have fun racing in single player.

WRC 7 provides an exhilarating rally experience on par with DiRT Rally. Highly recommended. Racing game surprise of the year and does a great job of giving you that on-the-limit immersive feeling.

I usually find user scores to be a better indicator of critic scores but in this case I was wrong.
The quality of the visual environment, the car and the sound effects are good. The settings offer decent customisation for a rookie like me.

The actual components that make the game is some what lacking. The behaviour of the car, the obstacles, the bumps, trenches in the road makes the game very frustrating. I thought GT was unforgiving, this game is worse. Unless you have talent it its going to be a real struggle to play.
I really dont think an actual car and wheel will behave the way this game does.

Overall the game is decent but nothing that really stands out to make it shine. It probably just satisfies a very small group of people that really like rally car game and this particular style of game mechanic.

Wrc5 and Wrc6 It was a complete idiot job. There is screen tearing on the console, could it be such nonsense?

I can't say it's too bad for Wrc 7, at least there is no screen tearing, and the gaming experience is not killed, it's not bad, it's an average game
