    The nostalgic value of this collection is beyond any doubt, they are three masterpieces that today are still very funny (and with a sensational script), but this remastering has fallen short in many respects, and has technical flaws.

    Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition is kinda rough and kinda janky, but it isn’t quite the disaster that the dogpile claims it is. Sure, the character design looks rough in high resolution and there are a fair number of bugs, but the games largely function as they did three generations back when they released. It ain’t great, but we’ve certainly seen worse.

    I’m a diehard fan of the GTA series, but I’m of two minds about this up and down port to the Unreal 4 Engine. The initial wow-factor of the visual upgrade is undeniable, but the more you play it, the more cracks appear in that pretty veneer. Some of those are legacy fissures that have not been repaired. Others are eyesore imperfections wrought by a new team of less-than-master craftspeople.

    Here’s the thing, though; despite every issue that the GTA: DE suffers from, I’ve still been having a good time with it. Which is simply a testament to how well-written the Grand Theft Auto series is. The GTA: DE needs a patch. Or, maybe, it needs a boatload of patches. Though, I still find myself enjoying the over-the-top storylines, ridiculous dialogue, and outrageous mission structure. It’s hard to call these definitive, but still easy to call them classics.

    I love it, the few added features like weapon wheel and the map is so much better plus the added auto save

It seems like most of the textures were upscaled by AI and as a result there are lots of weird visual inconsistencies. The audio quality also seems way worse, I read because all the audio files were lifted from the mobile version. They didn't even improve on the original game's issues, like the bad pop-in effect of cars and distant objects. There are some minor quality of life improvements like the weapon wheel but the games are definitely not worth it for that. These are definitely not the definitive versions of the games and it is a shame Rockstar took down the older versions of the game, as those versions + a few mods make for a far superior experience.… Expand

The quality of work of the game and it’s UI is laughable and quite disrespectful tbh, and whoever worked on this should be ashamed of themselves. The game truly plays and looks like trash on the ps5. Characters looked so bad and rushed, the windows of buildings that were supposed to look so much better is seriously laughable, the cars don’t look nearly as good as mods and the fps is a disaster on performance and fidelity mode.

    Do yourself a favour and don’t let rockstar and take 2 disrespect you as well. Do not buy, even if this trash is on sale. I’m done encouraging them to release pure garbage due to the passion I once had for these titles.

    Games are unplayable and crash every 5 seconds on PS5. Tried getting a refund and they refuse because i played it for an hour!!
