    I dont really see this game being any different than nfs heat. i dont know why this game gets so much hype. also i hate the fact that this idio* named LPRIPPER just tries every single way to idolize this game so much. probably paid guy. his image of lashing on ppl doesnt help either

    worst Music ever, unlogic KI and many bugs and Lagging for now.
    I would not buy it for now, also the Online Modus is very "rare" and not many Playlists with all the same Racetracks. But the Music is really the worst, then the stupid Fortnite Graphic Look which i even can not deactivate.

    Heat was better, Criterion f'd this one up. Sloppy gameplay, slow progression, wonky and goofy art style. Recycled cars. Terrible online.

    There is no major change in the game after NFS 2015. Copy-paste the game is 75% similar and the difference is 25%. The driving has not changed, the cars have not changed, the same police cars and police sounds. Create a new part or make a remake of the old parts.

    This game could be much better if they didn't add some mechanics that ruin the whole fun. Driving in the game is the best part, I really enjoying racing and upgrading my cars, getting new ones, the graphics look quite good and even the new cartoony style additions are nicer than I expected before buying.

    But unfortunately there are some mechanics in the game that are ruining the whole experience for me. Starting by the fact that you need to go to your garage to do practically anything other than drive, like changing your selected car, tuning it, or even change its color. Primarily that doesn't sound like a bad idea but the problem is that the new game has week system and every single time you enter the garage you change from day to night or from night to the next day, so you cannot visit your garage without forcing your way into the next big race, which happens always on saturday.

    What seems like a minor issue becomes a bigger one because the more you advance through the game the more expensive the participation fee becomes for the big race on saturday, so that means you need to collect more and more money every day so you can upgrade your car with more expensive items and also to participate on the next race.

    And here is where the worst part of this game mechanic comes. In the game there are so many police cars you can barely drive for more than 3 seconds without finding at least one police car in your radar, and there are often more than one, and if your wanted by the police, which usually is always turned on on the night time you cannot drive freely anywhere for more than 3 seconds because you need to hide or try to drive so fast that they don't see you. This is really very limitating because it's a game about racing and you cannot drive freely for more than half of the time.

    And if that wasn't enough, the more oney you carry on you the more aggressive the police cars get so they are more likely to take your money away, and that together with the weekly mechanics and the increasing amount of money needed every time ends up forcing you to replay the same races over and over again, specially if you happen to fail the race at saturday since you're forced to go back to the prior friday and you're forced to make the whole amount of money needed for that race, which usually you can collect during a whole week, in one single day, meaning you will need to carry a lot of money on you and get the police trying to steal your money again and if they succeed, well, guess what, you can repeat the friday all over again because there is barely any freedom in this game.

    I find it weird that people are complaining more about the story or the graphics when the real problem is that the game isn't fun to play due to this lack of freedom and big amount of repetitiveness, which in my opinion is a lot worse because that's actually the core of the game.

    It's sad because otherwise I really was enjoying it but I've had that situation described above already a couple of times and it's no fun to play the same missions all over again. I'm really near to giving up the game even when I already got into class S, which is number two in the highest rank, but I don't enjoy being forced to repeat the same thing over and over again.    … Expand

    Visuals: 2/10 - not possible to disable cartoon effects which is annoying me entire time playing and poorly optimized, hell even NFS Heat or NFS 2015 looks better at this point.

    Forget everything else. Asap this, asap that, asap everywhere. Like, why? I listened to like 5 of the soundtracks and all of them are forgettable. Yes i can turn them off but remember, the soundtrack is one of the critical part of the game, and certainly it doesnt deliver whatsoever.

    Definitely not worth it especially at that high price, its a heat copy with a few minimalistic changes, cops are meh, pursuits not enganging, best was MW 05, Rivals and Hot pursuit. Customization is wacky goofy and cringe story and dialogue with political direction IN A RACING GAME

    It's an abomination. With EA's half-hearted 2022 you might wonder how the company maintains a cashflow of any kind and that would be perfectly understandable because this is the worst NFS I've ever played. I could explain why, but I have a feeling you are going to just shake your head yes and save your money on this lazy effort.

Feels like the people that have written the lines are from outer space and does hardly even know what a human being is, let alone have they ever met one. The driving feel is horrible. Same disaster as heat with brake to drift, it just feels so bad. Feels like it's peogrammed by people that never have deiven a real car. Just as in heat, you can be at 300kph/186mph+ turn and yank the e-brake and stop in 10 meters.
    I dont like the anime stuff either. This game is more arcade than ever, and I would only recommend this game to people below 14 years of age. I'm truly disappointed, and while this game deserves a 4, I'll give it a 1, just because the 7.3.it has in total now is waaaay to high.    … Expand

    Unbalanced opponent difficulty and despite the developers coming out and saying that the graffiti effects could be turned off, that is NOT the case. You can turn SOME of the effects off and only on your car. The opponents cars have all the effects still on. Got a refund on this one. Garbage.

    It does not have interior customization which i was hoping for. also i would like more of an updated wheel list and more new body kit parts. and more tuner/muscle cars there's majority super cars like the car list needs to be updated alot!

    Tried the trial. Its just heat with few extra touches here and there. Definitely not worth the price tag. (Yes sale discount or some sort exist but still, its not worth the price)

    Unfair and too hard because of poor vehicle handling and a cheated IA. Extremely slow progression, forgettable music and scenario. In one word, frustrating. But I love the style with those manga touches. Performance wise, it is terrible. Run poorly on a ryzen 5600x, an RTX 3070 and 32go of RAM tridentz neo 3600.l with drops to 30fps without DLSS and to the upper 40 with DLSS quality.

    Trying to do races at night on Heat level 5 and all I'm doing is driving away from cops. I finally get away and have 2 helicopters hovering above me, one not moving, and 2 to 3 cop cars spawning close to me. All I do is run away from cops at night, when all the good stuff is happening.

    Dieses Spiel reiht sich für mich ein in die letzten Jahre, wo wieder und wieder enttäuscht wird. Handling nicht besonders gut. Wagen machen was sie wollen wann sie es wollen oder auch nicht. Das neue Boostsystem ist sowohl gut als auch schlecht. Beim Driftig eher störend als helfend während es in Rennen sie gerade zu Kinderleicht macht. Den dein Wagen wird immer durch einen starken BoostDieses Spiel reiht sich für mich ein in die letzten Jahre, wo wieder und wieder enttäuscht wird. Handling nicht besonders gut. Wagen machen was sie wollen wann sie es wollen oder auch nicht. Das neue Boostsystem ist sowohl gut als auch schlecht. Beim Driftig eher störend als helfend während es in Rennen sie gerade zu Kinderleicht macht. Den dein Wagen wird immer durch einen starken Boost gerade gezogen und leicht oder stark nach vorne unkontrollierbar geboostet. So brauchst du nicht mehr gucken wie nehme ich die Kurve am besten sondern einfach bisschen quer gehen in den führenden knallen oder einfach so den Boost benutzen der sich meistens durch leichtes driften 1 von 3 Balken geladen hat und zack bist du erster weil die Ki sowas natürlich nicht macht.Wer Cops aus den letzten Teilen liebte(jetzt sehr schwer bis gar nicht mehr zerstörbar ) wird sie hier auch lieben hat sich quasi nichts dran getan nur das jetzt bei jedem Rennen deine Fahndungsstufe erhöht. Dadurch du quasi immer Stufe 5 bist wenn du mal mehr Geld haben willst oder aber einfach Rennenfahren. Die Gegner sind meistens nicht sonderlich stark bei Rennen egal welcher Schwierigkeitagrad.
    Für Grafik geb ich 1 Punkte und fürs okaye Driften 1. Dafür das sie nun dieses Tag/Nacht Rhythmus geändert haben u d nun nicht mehr Nachts Street Credit oder wie das hieß sammel musst und dieses doppelte farmen wegfält auch 1 Punkt. Und den 4ten und letzten Punkt gibt es für zu gewinne Wagen bei Rennen wo man nur ein bruchteil für die Wagen zahlen muss und sie meistens sogar mit doppeltem gewinn verkaufen kannst als das rennen dir abzieht und das du in manchen mission Late Game Wagen schon einmal fahren kannst.
    Story is halt ok interessiert am Ende eh keinen.

    Alles im allem haben sie also Heat mit besserer Grafik ein paar bug fixes und Verschönerungen/ Verbesserungen. Dafür mit neuen Fehlern und Sachen die einem das Spiel zur Hölle machen wo vorallem das schlechte Handling und Cops zubuche stehen.    … Expand

There are new kits that got criticized recently, but I'm a fan of uniqueness and would never say no to more customizations. However, you guys removed certain customizations, like watanabe rims or sunline racing kits, even removed almost all brake brands. Additionally, you guys added a liberty walk hood and yet… there is no kit? Why? Also, what happened to ChargeSpeed for BRZ and Urban Outlaw for RSR? They are gone as well. That's not all though, KS kits… where are they? You guys had it in Heat, yet they're nowhere to be seen in Unbound. The missing parts play an important role in the (street) racing genre and I really hope they get added back in the future… considering that your UTC explains the game would focus on customization, which makes no sense for the several missing parts.     NFS heat in a new city with pretty art added on top. The game forced me through the first race 3 times... Gas and clutch are switched, steering on my wheel feels awful. Hands down the worst wheel "support" I've ever seen. Unintuitive and uncustomizable controls. A racing game that won't let you set up your racing steering wheel controller.... Wow. Classic EA.

    Luckily steam accepted my request to return my money. I played for eight hours and it was annoying. I drove the same track (different race) over and over again. The Voice lines have been always the same and the handling and Motorsounds were just not good.

    But the biggest problem is the Multiplayer... I can't drive my Cars. That was the point I quit and got my money back.

    EA got so lazy. Just like Dirt 5 and Grid Legends almost feel like the same game, Unbound is like an S version of its predecessor. Same game, "Different" improved graphics. Boring, not original, not worth the money. Been playing this franchise since the 1st game was out, I'm 41 years old and can safely say that for me, this is the least favorite one i have every played .

    If you've played the past 3 NfS there is not much new to you apart from a new story to play through. They kept most of the core elements of heat or just slightly tweaked those. The graphics are improved, there are some new customizing options, a new takeover game mode and a new nitrous system. Tap nitrous is a good addition to make racing feel a bit more engaging and makes it a little bitIf you've played the past 3 NfS there is not much new to you apart from a new story to play through. They kept most of the core elements of heat or just slightly tweaked those. The graphics are improved, there are some new customizing options, a new takeover game mode and a new nitrous system. Tap nitrous is a good addition to make racing feel a bit more engaging and makes it a little bit more tactical in multiplayer.
    Speaking of which, the multiplayer is separate to the solo mode. Cars you buy and customize in solo are not available online and vice-versa. Some cars that are free to buy in solo, do have challenges you need to grind to unlock for multiplayer. For example driving 30 playlists (!) in a certain car to be able to purchase the other car. This just feels like they had to stretch the content as much as possible. Another negative point for multiplayer is the complete absence of cops. You are limited to freeroam and racing in playlists. In solo the cops don't feel like a challenge, they are just annoying at times.

    -- multiplayer and single player use separate garages
    -- multiplayer has no cops whatsoever

    Would I pay 70€ for it? Deifnitely not. It rather feels like NfS 2015 V4 or just a new NfS Heat DLC. I'd recommend waiting for it to get deposited in the EA Play membership. It might also have gotten some new content until then.    … Expand

    This is the THPS5 of NFS games. The graphics and art style look very similar, and it's the same sort of low point for the series. Ignore the paid promoters, this game is pure disappointment. Do yourself a favor and play the EA Play trial before you buy if you are really interested.

    For me its nothing more tjan 5. Downgrade from heat in case of mods to the cars, annoying efects, which can’t be disabled even thou they said it can be!!
    Story is good, graphics are ok, cars roster is fine, and there is literally nothing more to say about this game.

    This game feels like a different genre with the effects you cannot turn off. The dialogue reads like a 40 year old voice actor trying for a part in a high school student role. First NFS game in 15 years I won't be buying (played the 10 hour trial)

    While by no means perfect, Criterion's put the franchise back on the road with NFS Unbound. Oozing with originality, and giving players their fix however they want to play (whether in story mode, online, customizing cars, or outrunning the cops), Need for Speed Unbound is the strongest outing the series has had to date since Criterion's Hot Pursuit entry in 2010.

    Wie sagt man in einem Restaurant immer: lieber eine kleine Karte mit richtig guten Gerichten, als ein Buch mit Dreck. Das hier ist ein Buch.

    Die Grafik geht ok, allerdings gibt es überall Grafikfehler, wie komische schwebende Schatten, die Pfützen sein sollen.
    Der Sound ist gut, aber… man wird IMMER zu beinahe JEDER SEKUNDE des Spiels mit irgendwelchem blöden Gesabbel genervt. Die (schon wieder) pseudocoole Kiddiegang ist die ganze Zeit nur am Labern… das geht mir so dermaßen auf den Sack!!

    Und dann ist es dieselbe blöde Story, wie immer. Wozu brauche ich in so einem Spiel eine Story??!! Und erstrecht keine so platte, dumme, nichtssagende, kopierte.

    Ich soll dann also zu einem Event.
    Während ich dahin fahre, werde ich permanent zugelabert und mit neuen Ereignissen belästigt, die ich dann vorziehen muß. Gehe ich dann in die Garage, um die Kohle abzuliefern, sind die Events nicht mehr verfügbar, weil ein nächster Tag angebrochen ist.
    Ich soll in 7 Gagen meine Karre pimpen, soll aber immer wieder in die Garage, um Geld abzuliefern, und dann ist der Tag futsch.

    Nachts sind die Bullen aktiver als tagsüber. Wieso?
    Die Cops im Rennen sind ein Witz.
    Die Steuerung ist schlecht.
    Die Musik ist eine Katastrophe.
    Keine Schnellreise zu den Rennen.
    Ewige Wege zu den Events.
    Die immer gleiche Katastrophe.

    Hier hat man es nicht mit einem ernst gemeinten Arcaderennspiel zu tun, sondern schon wieder mit einem Bling-Bling-HipHop-Epilepsie-Kinderspiel.

    I've played every Need For Speed this is the worst one I ever played. Playing hardest/medium/easiest change nothing when it come to racing, because they have such crazy rubber banding that all CPU are 100m away from you at all time. You constantly fighting cops every single race. The music was bad, handling was all over the place, cant turn off the visual effects, and you are placing an expensive pricetag? AI has catch-up boost and a lot of speed if it’s the one or two cars picked to challenge you at the beginning of the race.


    -Music sucks
    -Cartoony graphics can’t be turned off, I.e. wings sprout from the car everytime a jump is made. Annoying
    -Cops are everywhere, especially at night. Most of the game at night is spent running. -safe house is safe only if there isn’t any heat, would be nice if you could drive into you garage and drop heat.
    -can’t return to safe house unless you plan on advancing to night or day. -game will auto swap cars before a race but won’t put you back into original car. Heat 5 with class B cars anyone? -can’t switch cars once you leave the safe house Online mode on PS5 doesn’t work, when connecting to EA, an error message appears and white screen, no inputs from controller unless it’s a ps button.

    Only thing worst than this game is the fake reviews and other sites that promoted this piece of garbage. Don’t know who is worse scum the developers or the reviewers…zero negative reviews from the amateur critics at Metacritic…what a load of BS    … Expand

    Arcade racing game is supposed to be fun, not frustrating and so grindy. Add that with bad soundtrack and bad handling, this is definitely not how to make an arcade racing game, considering the price.

    There is also no cops in online multiplayer mode as of this review.     The patrol cars are on every corner in free roam and I do mean it on every corner. One behind another, 2 to 3 in one intersection.
    Once they start chasing you, you lose precious time trying to get rid of them, only to end up in one spot for 10min waiting for them to go away once you escape and repeat that same thing a few more times, while going around the freaking map, just to reach a destination.
    The undercover cops are such an unnecessary addition. As if, all the mentioned wasn`t enough.
    At this point, completing the game becomes a chore.
    I have spent more time being a sitting duck rather than racing, which is the whole point of the fu*kin` series.
    After the cops, there`s the godawful AI racers. Completely unoptimized and setting up the game to relaxing difficulty does not make the game relaxing at all. I tried the game on challenging but soon set it to relaxed, only to experience the same thing.
    Racers such as Justicia (350Z) and Harlow (C8) make the game a living nightmare when you try to progress through the story mode. Even when you don`t bet against them, often they feel rigged.
    Like, you blow them away at one point and the next, one of two of them are breathing down your neck at the finish line.
    Also, often, trying to catch up to lets say Harlow, you will chase her from 0 to 70% and only remain a bit close to her and still lose.
    After the atrocious AI, there`s the grind.
    You get bombarded with buy-ins, that take a whole lot of money from you and in return, you barely get anything. Even when you bet against someone.
    Through most of the game, you can barely save up to even have a shot at a weekly qualifier.
    Only at the last week you get a sensible amount, if you manage to beat the bad AI, that is.
    Another thing regarding money, which frustrates me so much, is that, in order to upgrade your ride to the next class (A, A+, S and S+), you need to pay a large amount of money.
    If you want to get your B tier car to S, you have to not only pay for the parts BUT also something called a garage upgrade.
    I have seen games like Gear Club 2 implement that but there you can actually handle that expense.
    In Unbound, it takes away most of your hard earned cash, AND you have to redo the same races over and over again to save up and buy the parts you "unlocked".
    The drifting in this game is just plain bad.
    Taking a powerful. RWD car and not being able to achieve barely any score, after a long drift is not optimized scoring. Wont even mention taking a lower end car to a drift event. Some of them are actually off road, which is pure stupidity.
    The voice acting is blander than my voice. The main character sounds like he is about to give a TED talk seminar about global warming.
    In Heat, the character sounds like a normal person and you can relate to him, his tone when speaking to someone in real life. In Unbound, even in intense *moments, its so bad !
    Speaking of voice acting. The AI racers just don`t shut up. And turning down the voices in the audio settings mutes even the cutscenes, which is stupid.
    Now, onto the music.
    Same as Heat, a few good ones while to rest suck fat, hairy a**hole.
    No variety at all. And some songs like Ice Cream, Money are pure cringe and oh my god, I can`t stand that guy yelling MASSO, all the time....
    The cars handling to me became too snappy. They often feel good but, no matter what car it is, it starts to jump like crazy over the smallest things, specially when you upgrade to S and S+.
    The customization is better in some capacity. Some parts are absolutely wild but that does not help too much with my final score.

Le choix graphique, l'ambiance et le gameplay sont super, je met 10/10 sur cette partie, pas contre pour le reste c'est proche de 0 par rapport à NFS Heat, en therme d'ergonomie dans les menus, la progression campagne / multi qui sont totalement différente et les voitures bloqués à l'achat par des défis infaisable car le multi est mal géré.. Par exemple pour débloquer à l'achat la Nissan S15 il faut gagner 20 course en classe B avec une Nissan sauf que vu que il n'y a personne en multi (et c'est uniquement joueurs contre joueurs, aucun bot !) il y a 5-6 personnes dans l'open world quand on ouvre la carte mais la plus part jouent en S/S+ donc impossible de trouver quelqu'un pour faire une course en classe B pour les défis, et les seules fois où j'ai pu c'était avec un ami donc on était 2 dans la course, le défi est juste infaisable non pas parce que c'est impossible de gagner mais juste de trouver du monde pour faire course.… Expand

And the story is very basic not like the rest NFS heat was better story and the most important thing to is the Garage it’s so basic and I hate it the garage on nfs heat was way better where you can see all of your cars and no it’s not the best NFS OF THIS GENERATION If you say that you honestly don’t know anything about NFS. Nothing can pass NFS 2005 the icon and underground 1 and 2. And their are a bunch of useless cars in the game and they all the same.     After playing unbound, safe to say that my gaming experience is better with heat. I feel like unbound is a cheap copy of heat.

    Night time is actually so bad in this game, its not even funny. It autos you at Heat 5 for no reason when leaving a safehouse. So most of my time at night are just boring cop chases all night long, and when I escape its just me praying I get good cop spawns on my way to events. Not to mention in THIS game, they introduce a cop at Heat 4 that doesn't appear on the radar so it'll justNight time is actually so bad in this game, its not even funny. And THAT is extremely annoying when you don't do anything to deserve Heat 5 in the first place. And it seems that in this game compared to any other, cop spawns are increased. They are legit EVERYWHERE. Around every corner. If you think you're safe, you're not. I legit have to ninja drive around the map to sometimes avoid these guys.

    You wanna play some good Need for Speed that'll actually treat you fairly? Play Heat if you haven't already. Heat has no cops during the day. And ramps up your Heat for every race you do at night. That's a balanced experience. This game literally has me closing my application and trying again because I am tired of getting randomly seen AT HEAT 5 on my way to events. Annoying. Unfair. Inconvenient.    … Expand

    Need for Speed was seriously starting to look dead and buried – and here comes the rescue party! The combination of beautiful, realistic-looking graphics and effects borrowed straight from an anime works surprisingly well, the story doesn’t get in your way and the driving model hits exactly the right spot. Even the open world is fun! This is how you make an arcade racing game.

    Need for Speed Unbound is the best modern NFS to date. It is still riddled with issues like rubberbanding and weird drifting physics, but it still provides its players with the best handling system in years, with grip racing finally back. With the best visual design NFS has ever had and some interesting campaign decisions, it gives hope that the series is back on track to becoming something great.
