New Tales from the Borderlands is immensely entertaining, exceptionally well written, and acted with pitch-perfect attention to character. I wish the action wasn’t so restricted to quick-time events, because a full-on action game with such quality of humor and characters would be a hands-down GOTY contender. After replaying the original Tales from the Borderlands, it was obvious how much the new game improves on the first. Any gamer that appreciates great writing, fully dimensional characters, and a wide gamut of humor will love New Tales from the Borderlands.
At about 10 hours, New Tales from the Borderlands is a solid successor to the first title under Telltale, and its story has all the right emotional beats. I cannot count the number of laughs the episodes drew from me, but towards the end, the game's uneven pacing was hard to ignore. Paired with its stale quick-time events, there is more New Tales from the Borderlands to improve on, but this sequel is a step in the right direction.

This is a good successor of the original series, with charming character and the sense of humor we all know and love.
Pleasant to play, visually beautiful, full of humor, we are delighted to be able to return to the world of Borderlands in the manner of a TellTales. Unfortunately, the additions of gameplay and the wobbly side of its scenario do not play to its advantage.
We love the characters and the sense of humor in Tales of the Borderlands, but decision making, QTE and exploration sequences don´t live up to the story.
I wish I could say I nailed New Tales of from the Borderlands with a bad score because I was holding it to a higher standard because it was developed by Gearbox, and that it had a lot to live up to by following the original Tales. Those things may be true, but this game is a soulless slog regardless of who made it or what series it’s a part of.
No where near as bad as the vocal minority make out. It is not as good as the Telltale one but if you thought it was going to be then you were just kidding yourself.
Some characters are cringe, some aren't. Two of the main characters are intentionally socially awkward from each extreme end of the social spectrum which was probably a really stupid choice; one nerdy and awkward, the other overconfident, trying to be cool (so not cool) and annoying. You will not want to see those two characters in future Borderlands games. The other main character and the assassination robot are decent.
You will eye-roll at some attempts at humour and you will laugh at others, sometimes hard. Episode 3 is especially funny. But, which jokes land and which don't depends on your choices and the outcome of many choices can be quite unpredictable. So, you need to be aware that 'you' might have made it less funny and if you're not interested in replaying with different choices then you may never even know.

Great story and fun new characters with story developments that I'm exited to see play out in the later games. I Don't think this game fully lands the ending but great overall.
