Reunite and stand together in a new age of heroes. Overwatch 2 builds on an award-winning foundation of epic competitive play, and challenges the world's heroes to team up, power up, and take on an overwhelming outbreak of threats around the globe.

Overwatch 2 evolves the look and feel of the world, with more dynamic environments, larger scale battles, additional in-game storytelling events, and improved atmospheric effects and shadows. Heroes in Overwatch 2 will also have a brand-new look, with greater detail and higher fidelity.

In Push, a new, symmetrical map type that will launch with Overwatch 2, teams battle to take control of a robot that begins in a central location, then push it toward the enemy base. Either team may take control of the robot at any time. The team that pushes the robot furthest onto the enemy side wins the game.

Play an active role in the next chapter of the Overwatch saga through a series of intense four-player missions. Fight back against Null Sector, uncover the motives behind the omnic attacks, and confront a rising wave of new threats.

Your accomplishments and loot collections will be carried forward to Overwatch 2. That means you'll keep your skins, player icons, sprays, emotes, and more!

Current Overwatch players will battle side-by-side with Overwatch 2 players in PvP multiplayer; they'll also be able to play Overwatch 2 heroes and maps.

Overwatch 2 should not be a sequel. Its improvements feel great and perfect the gameplay. The free to play format will keep it afloat and introduce many to a fantastic hero shooter with impressive charisma, but it is not a sequel. What was seen here should have come sooner and may well be insufficient for fans.

I hope the allure of what makes Overwatch as a game and a unique world can be seen to newcomers despite the negative cloud that is surrounding much of it. In terms of play, Overwatch 2 is more fun to play than it has ever been. We are in luck, however, as Blizzard has clearly been keenly listening to the community since the launch of the game didn't go very smoothly, and the potential for more fixes and fine-tuning seem like it's their biggest priority. It will be interesting to see where things are after a year, that's the blessing and the curse of a live-service game. But for now…

Overwatch 2 is not a full sequel in the way one usually is, instead porting over the original game and enhancing it with a bit of new content. It doesn't justify the number at the end, but that doesn't take away from what is still a terrific multiplayer experience. Removing the price point entirely, Overwatch 2 can now be considered one of the best free-to-play games around.

The introduction of passive abilities for each role sounds subtle on paper, but when Reaper goes on a spree, gaining a 25 percent boost to movement and reload speed for 2.5 seconds with each elimination, he becomes a lot more deadly. Across the board, these passives and individual character toolkits incentivize a more aggressive approach to play that emphasizes hero roles more than ever before. It’s an elevated version of the original’s execution that takes some getting used to, but once you do, it’s a lot more fun and satisfying, because the big plays get even bigger.

Overwatch 2 has the same strengths as the first game. It's a new version of an enjoyable multiplayer shooter. But it lacks many essential things. The servers don't work well, it doesn't have a lot of new content and buying new stuff is extremely expensive. The gameplay is excellent, and the foundation is set, but there's still a long road ahead.

It’s really difficult to even grade this game. Should it be called “Overwatch 2” at all? And how is it going to grow? Right now, it brings next to nothing to veterans but still remains a very good team shooter.

Fun at times. Improved visuals look the part, but this sequel strays too far from the team-oriented gameplay that made the original so compelling. [Issue#21, p.96]

Also; I love how all the progress I made over the course of 5-6 years in Overwatch 1 has been wiped despite me doing all the steps Blizzard tells you to do. Also really love how they've ruined the game and locked everything behind paywalls. Taking half the fun out of the OW experience.

Not concerned, though. Fortunately, I still have Overwatch 1 and will just go pla- NO WAIT, NEVERMIND, CAN'T EVEN **** DO THAT.

    Die, Blizzard. Die.

EDIT: I got my progress back, so the score goes up. But it's still literally Overwatch 1... but with a dreadful economy and the same scummy F2P / live service hindrances that have ruined numerous games recently. Shame what they've done with Overwatch because the gameplay itself is still super fun.

    -Forced close of OW1.
-new players either pay 40 bucks for the heroes or have to play about 100 matches to unlock them.
    -no sign or info

-they call it a sequel, but this could've been an update in sted since not that much changed.
-servers would've been better if you didnt force the community to play 2 in sted of play 1 till servers were stable..

really feel like Blizzard is gonna make this their Fortnite: free base game but heavy on the MTX and monetisation of this entire franchise.

They ruined this game so much. Buffing characters who clearly don’t need it. Needing characters who clearly needed every advantage. My main pet peeve is when someone quits instantly, the match is ended early. What help does that give the winning team? SMH. Rest in peace Overwatch 1. Expand

I will be as fair on my review of this game as the leadership behind this game was with the shop and battle pass. The gameplay is undeniableI will be as fair on my review of this game as the leadership behind this game was with the shop and battle pass. The gameplay is undeniable done well and can be addictive, the action is almost none stop and you have moments in plays where you are on the edge of your seat because your team makes a major stop or a huge push. This enjoyment really comes to a daunting halt once you return to the menu and see your battle has budged just a little and you haven't been able to accumulate any in game currency from the battle pass progression. The shop is expensive as h e double hockey stick, I don't see anyone enjoying this game in totality especially when you are seeing other players with new skins and you cant afford not even a key chain or emote with the bare minimum currency you get maybe once a week. This game is just good awful when it comes to customer experience. I do not recommend this game to anyone. Your welcome. Expand
