PowerWash Simulator is the type of game that you sit down to play for 15 minutes, then realise hours have gone by. It may not be full of intense action or have a rivetting story, but once it’s got its hooks in you, it’s hard to break free. The desire to clean just one more object is strong. Still, it’s an acquired taste: it does simply have you undertaking menial jobs after all. But if you like stress-free games and don’t mind repetitive tasks, the reward of making things look shiny and new is considerable.

If you are the kind of person that can sit down and appreciate a job well done after finishing house chores, you just might find an enjoyable pastime in PowerWash Simulator. On the other hand, it's a game best enjoyed in short sessions, as spending hours on end on a single job can be rather tiresome. A cooperative mode would mitigate this situation, but the way it's been implemented is far from ideal, unfortunately.

So I played this on PC and gave it an 8 there because this is an oddly satisfying game and I enjoyed the creative levels and offbeat storySo I played this on PC and gave it an 8 there because this is an oddly satisfying game and I enjoyed the creative levels and offbeat story (yep it's a thing). Obviously I enjoyed it enough to play it again on PS5. So why the lower score? I ran into performance issues. As the career mode continued there was a stuttering issue that got to the point where every 10 seconds or so it would basically freeze a moment before continuing. I still beat career mode, but it definitely detracted from the experience. Expand
