If you’ve played previous Sniper Elite games, you already know if you’re going to like Sniper Elite 5. If you haven’t, I can’t recommend it enough, as well as the previous entries. The quality is consistent all the way back to the first entry, and it’s a ton of fun. Don’t forget to check out the Nazi Zombie Army games as well. As I mentioned at the beginning of the review, Rebellion knows the meaning of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, and they’ve used that to pump out a series of great games.

It’s easy to get lost exploring the giant maps in Rebellion’s Sniper Elite 5, and it’s been a while since I’ve played a game where I lost track of time. The collecting part leaves something to be desired, but the co-op and invasion gameplay modes more than make up for that.

Sniper Elite 5 is unmissable for anyone with even a passing interest in stealth games.

Sniper Elite 5 is the best one yet. It still has some technical issues, like the messy AI and it can be hard sometimes, but it’s still a lot of fun and probably enough to make both hardcore fans and newcomers happy. It’s a blast.

Everyone who loved the previous entry, will surely enjoy this one, that lacks real improvements and innovations.

Sniper Elite 5 is a culmination of many years of gameplay systems and development processes being polished to a mirror sheen. Making tremendous strides in both technology and visuals, Sniper Elite 5 can stand amongst the likes of its AAA contemporaries with gorgeous, realistic environments and visuals. Character modelling and animation could still use some refinement and the narrative left something to be desired, though the story thread was enough to provide adequate pacing for the action on screen. If you’re a fan of the series or looking to finally see what all the fuss is about, Sniper Elite 5 is the best the series has ever been.

Sniper Elite 5 is a bad game, in part thanks to boring maps, lackluster graphics and a non-existent story, but most of all because of its fundamentally flawed AI that takes all the fun out of stealth and sniping.

It is in many ways what you may have come to expect from SE games set in new areas with gameplay and graphical improvements. Though for some it not might be the jump you are hoping for it is still a great step forward for the series. Expand

Absolute prime example of modern gaming, wait four years for the game, they release it with more bugs than a hobo's mattress.
It's mind blowing how this game got through QA testing before release.
Mission objectives not appearing, exfiltration points not appearing, enemies halfway in/out of the environment, trophies not tracking, constant investigating AI, floating character when climbing ladders, voice chat not working in cross play and on and on and on.

Enemy AI is so random that they either all run into your fire in a straight line or hear a suppressed shot from everywhere on the map and proceed to target your exact location with relentless precision.

The sad thing is there is a great game underneath all the mountain of bugs, but there is no way we'll ever see it 'cos they ain't fixing all this.

ButFirst of all: I love Karl's assignments in Africa (part 3) and Italy (part 4) and so I was very pleasured when part 5 was announced.... But what the hell was Rebellion thinking here?! Although the individual areas are larger- but they are mostly unsuitable for "stealth play". In France, our "super agent" can only walk the paths specified by the developer – get over a knee-high wall? –No way ! And in addition to the catastrophic topography (especially in villages/cities hardly find any hiding places) comes the sometimes INSANE amount of enemies. Rebellion should have focused on the strengths of the last parts and consistently continued them in France instead of chasing the multiplayer trend. The only thing that is the same in the new part as in the parts from 2014 + 2017 is the graphics quality (even though I played the new part on PS5!)

    For SE 5 : Rebellion , sit down , F(ailed) ! #NotMySniperElite!
