The Quarry is a thrilling experience from start to finish that any fan of Supermassive’s other horror games will immediately adore. If this is your first foray into their games, The Quarry is an excellent jumping-in point before diving into their other games. Standout performances, fantastic writing, and horrifying visuals are sure to delight all fans of horror.

The Quarry sits comfortably near the top of the interactive movie genre. Equal parts clever and terrifying, it earns its ten-hour runtime with a series of twists and turns that are sure to delight. There’s action, romance, comedy, and unbelievably disgusting violence. Supermassive Games have delivered a rollercoaster that serves as a fabulous follow-up to Until Dawn, so anyone who enjoys the genre will be in for one hell of a ride.

The Quarry is a worthy heir to Until Dawn. It’s a classic teen horror, with a good amount of high-tension moments and an impressive number of branches that will push the most curious to return multiple times to Hackett's Quarry in search of the truth, dodging death on their own or with a group of friends.

Despite its minor flaws, The Quarry finally is the fun teen survival horror we've been longing for since Until Dawn.

The story is, as we have come to expect from Supermassive Games, very engrossing, shaped by the excellent characters and good cast. The gameplay is also as good as ever, making for an interesting experience that is plagued by a few illogical situations and technical glitches. Nevertheless, The Quarry is a great game to experience if you are a fan of teen horror films.

The Quarry's narrative easily surpasses previous The Dark Pictures Anthology entries with an engaging cast of characters and interesting mystery. Unfortunately, The Quarry plays better as a film rather than a video game as there aren't a whole lot of opportunities for players to explore or interact with the world. Still, with a fun story, difficult decisions, and an all-start cast, The Quarry is nonetheless a step in the right direction for developer Supermassive.

What we have here is a developer that is happy to nudge us with knowing jokes, but who doesn’t dare to frighten us. We might call it a Craven effort. As for the ending, there isn’t one—just a montage of postscripts, detailing the fates of the various characters. Only, we already know their fates, having been at least partially responsible for them. As the credits rolled, the sweetness of the humour had grown stale, and I felt distinctly unsated, though hardly hungry for more. I hate to say it, but Supermassive has made a Butterpop.

A lot of fun, great acting and overall vibe, but too short and overpriced.

If you're like me and grew up on Friday the 13th and have enjoyed a Supermassive/interactive-movie game, this is right up your alley. It looks amazing, the setting is great, the story is simple but effective, and the characters are surprisingly likeable. I'm so sick of the stereotypical **** girl and the brooding-but-secretly-cool guy characters but they were written and performed well enough here that it didn't bother me. It's definitely light on gameplay, but the amount of choice and consequence throughout keeps it immersive and fairly exciting, While I didn't find it particularly scary, I really appreciate that Supermassive hires real actors, which helps you to get invested in the story. It isn't the masterpiece that I think these devs are capable of, but I had a lot of fun with it and loved the whole mood and pace of the storytelling. Characters like Laura and Max, Dylan, Travis Hackett, even Abi and Ryan (who grew on me), were all great and really had me hooked on their respective narratives.

The one big downside is that I kept thinking how i just paid CAD$90 on a game that lasted 2 evenings. It would be amazing if it was a full-length, 20+ hr game that spans many days. I would totally follow the camp throughout the whole summer as a slow burn mystery starts to unfold. I imagine in the future Supermassive will go beyond the single-night story and maybe adapt a great horror book into a long, epic story where you follow characters in their lives and things slowly start to unravel and go nuts. Maybe something with a serial killer or something that doesn't rely on revealing a creature and then just fizzling out. Maybe Quantic Dream will beat them to it. Like a modern and up-to-date, not-terribly-cheesy Heavy Rain.

I love what Supermassive is doing, and this particular story should have been a home-run for me, but I can't help feeling a little disappointed after ending it. I think we'll see a masterpiece from this team, but it's not The Quarry

gotta be honest to date this is the worst title theyve come out with, the dialogue drags and drags through the first 4 chapters , jail chaptergotta be honest to date this is the worst title theyve come out with, the dialogue drags and drags through the first 4 chapters , jail chapter felt too long , not only that but the replayability is very locked in to making you do the full story again, no alternate save files, no parts to the chapters you can pick from, no skipping cutscenes that ive watched atleast give us the choice. not a good take from this dev. dark pictures anthology and until dawn are better , not worth 70 try around 40. Ужасные диалоги, много сцен, которые просто забыли вставить, неестественная мимика лиц, не интересные герои, которым нет желания сопереживать, отвратительное замыливание переднего плана при перемещении персонажа, которое давит на глаза.
