Master Duel has all that it takes for a Yu-Gi-Oh! video game to work: let's hope Konami is going to support this one for a very long time.

By its proposal, Duel Master clearly distinguishes itself from Duel Links, the other free-to-play in the universe of Yu-Gi-Oh!. By focusing solely on the playing card game, the title offers a very complete experience with official rules and a huge collection of cards on all media thanks to cross-platform.

A solid basis for digitising the card game across platforms, presentation aside. You’ll need to love the card game though, or you’ll be left in the dust. [Issue#12, p.94]

If I could grade Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duels in Magic Terms, I’d give it a Sideboard B. If you love Yu-Gi-Oh, this is probably the pinnacle of the game’s experience, with modern flourishes and easy access to a huge repository of cards. However, if you’re not a hardcore fan and just fancy dipping your toes in the water, this game is probably not for you — by all means give it a chance, but don’t be surprised if you find its complexities impossible to overcome.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is, nowadays, the purest Yu-Gi-Oh! experience. A gift for the fan of the TCG. [Recommended]

It's called Master Duel so if you are anything else but master I would not recommend this game. The hardcore Corean gamer will pull out unbeatable(10*, 4000atk/4000deff, spell immune, resurrect on death, spell effect, instant win) monster from the first turn with series of chain spells and monster effects and if you manage to defeat that monster he will just bring it back next turn even stronger and another one like it next to it. I did not enjoy duels not one but as casual who just want to recall some of the past yu gi oh glory :( Expand

You get some starter decks from playing the solo mode but as soon as you're in PvP duels. It's the usual pay to win bs I've come to expect from Yu-Gi-Oh. If you're not playing one of the meta decks, with one turn victories you've already lost. You've got people playing multiple limited or forbidden cards like they forgot to put the restriction in the game or players just modding.

Once you're at Gold V you won't win a single duel without any meta FTK (first turn kill) deck.
It's a shame, Yugioh used to be the best Card game out there.
Additionally it's heavily suffering from microtransactions.
