Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is the ultimate murder mystery experience with many new ways to get through the class trials, a large world that expands the more you play, and an interesting story behind it all. If you're intrigued and can put up with the vulgar sophomoric content then this is a must-buy game.

There are not many superlatives that does not stick to Danganronpa V3 : Killing Harmony. This third installment in the series is more extreme, more meta, more amazing in its storyline, even if the core gameplay suffers from reals changes to surprise the old students. Unless the visual novel genre or its Japanese style makes you want to run away, Danganronpa V3 : Killing Harmony is worth the school trip.

Ultimately, Danganronpa V3 doesn’t add too much new to the series. But that’s okay – it doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel when the wheel we already have still rolls out eclectic characters and shocking moments so reliably. It’s a great rollercoaster of hope and despair with a climax that made me sit back and think about everything that just happened. The road to the end of Danganronpa V3 is long and twisted, but the ride is well worth it.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is a worthwhile new chapter in Spike Chunsoft’s now-beloved series about the struggle between despair and hope, bringing some legitimate twists and shocking surprising with it. It also, however, serves as a sign that Danganronpa may be running out of steam—and that this should perhaps be the chapter where we say goodbye to that adorable psychopath Monokuma.

While I can’t discuss story details, Danganronpa V3 shines by highlighting the memorable cast while twisting the story around in surprising ways. The structure doesn’t change much from the prior two entries and it doesn’t need the minigame padding, but that doesn’t stop this from being a fantastic experience. Fans of the series owe it to themselves to play V3, as it was clearly created with them in mind and holds up perfectly alongside Trigger Happy Havoc and Goodbye Despair.

Just about the only new thing this time around is the ending, which arguably recontextualizes the entire series in a way that’s sure to leave some people infuriated. Personally, though? I don’t think that a controversial, divisive ending changes the fact that everything that comes before it is basically just 35+ hours of more of the same. If you’re a PS4 owner, of course, all of this will seem new and kind of scandalous, so I can see why it may appeal to some people, but for Vita owners hoping that the previous Danganronpa game marked a new direction for the series, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony will represent a bit of a step back to the safe and familiar (to the extent, obviously, that Danganronpa could ever be described as safe).

Great characters development, well-written story and great mysteries to solve. While I'm not a big fan of the ending, I'm good with it unlike some of the fans. Gameplay mechanics has been refined as well in V3 and I love the UI compared to the previous games. Beware that this game took me like 70+ hours to finish and it was worth it. I wish there was another game that can capture the magnificence of Danganronpa V3. Also, prepare for the feels.

Reminder that if you haven't played Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair then I'd suggest to play that first.

From the amazing opening case, to the wonderfully written and performed cast of characters, to the CRAZY ending that definitely caught me off guard, but in a good way, D3 really shines in all aspects of the story mode. While I definitely would have liked to have seen a number of the mini games that were invovled in the story removed entirely. Some of which just seemed to have been there to artificially extend the cases (most notably the supremely boring taxi mini game....), it's easily done considering how supremely amazing the individual cases were. I seriously cant recommend it enough for people to go out and play this series. It's a MUST that you play the first 2 games in the series before playing this one. The ending loses a ton of impact if you haven't played those. But, for those looking to give the Vita a proper send off here, I'd highly recommend going through even if you only sorta kinda care about stories in video games. This is probably one of the most well written stories I've ever seen and it immediately became one of my favorite games of all time. Expand

I hated the ending at first, it was something I didn't expect (which is always a plus) and I didn't like the direction they took. I mulled it over and decided that the twist was creative enough to be applauded. A good set of unique characters once again and the environment to explore is mysterious as ever (not as cool as the island in number 2, but still decent). Some of the new minigames in the trials are good (Debate Scrum has amazing music and mind mine is just a fun diversion) and others are kinda boring (psyche taxi, rather be snowboarding).
Daganronpa is a fantastic serious. And V3 makes sure it doesn't get stale. Whether that's a good thing or a bad, time will tell. I think it's sitting around an 80/100 for me right now. That may go up, I don't see it going down.
If you haven't given this serious a chance, it's worth the time for something over the top and unique.

never in my life have I seen something so self-deprecating that was equally pompously arrogant
I was completely satisfied with Danganronpa 1, 2 and 3 (anime) and was wondering where the story could possibly go from there
and it ended up going nowhere. it does nothing to justify its own existence, and if the developers didn't want to continue the series, they shouldn't have continued it. and yet they have the nerve to say the fans are problem? **** that, you guys are the ones milking the franchise, not us.
