That J-Stars Victory Vs+ delivers its rampant destruction in a way that goes down so smoothly, even for newcomers to the genre/universe…well, that's more than enough to make it worth picking up, as far as I'm concerned.

It's a good fighting game, easy to learn but still able to reach interesting levels of strategic depth.

J-Stars Victory VS+ is a reasonably solid handheld brawler that houses plenty of content. Its accessible but mostly satisfying and fun gameplay suits portable play well, even if its simplistic systems will do little to keep fans of more technical fighters engaged.

Too lightweight for fighting fans and too charmless for anime fans, it's hard to see this pleasing anybody.

I bought this game thinking It would be a brainless brawler with anime characters and a casual and shallow fighting system and bare bonesI bought this game thinking It would be a brainless brawler with anime characters and a casual and shallow fighting system and bare bones content. Im very impress with this game, now obviously The home console versions are superior but the vita is amazing for 5-8 minute fights and a story mode you can just pick up anytime. The cast is very large and they have a fairly deep combo and move system, even deeper then the ultimate ninja storm series. It runs very smooth and looks good all things considering, the maps are large and destructible and colorful. It met my expectations for a 3rd person brawler with a ton or character and variety, which makes it the absolute best 3rd person fighter on any mobile platform and possibly the best fighter on mobile Expand

I like the premise but I find the story to be rather pointless and I find it annoying that you have to progress to certain points in the storyI like the premise but I find the story to be rather pointless and I find it annoying that you have to progress to certain points in the story to be able to have all of the characters at once even if you have enough to buy them all. It also bothers me that you can play as certain characters during the story mode, but that doesn't make them available for you outside of story mode unless you buy them. I could put up with this if they let me use the characters that I've purchased during the story since only a finite number of battles dictates all of the participants.

Honestly I'm not a huge fighting game fan mostly because I'm bad at them but I usually play through them for the interesting and needlessly complex story. For some reason I'm pretty alright at 3d fighting games similar to Dissidia Duodecim. And I'm pretty alright at this one too. But it feels like character wise they bit of more than they could properly chew and left out a large portion that could have been incredibly interesting and complex. But hey its a fighting games for shounen Jump characters it's not supposed to be taken seriously.

Pretty decent anime brawler. It's simple enough to easily get into it, but not so shallow to get bored of it.
Let's be honest though, no one
Pretty decent anime brawler. It's simple enough to easily get into it, but not so shallow to get bored of it.
Let's be honest though, no one is going to play it for the fighting system, it's all about the fanservice.
The fanservice is great for the most part, the story mode falls flat, but it's really fun to play with available characters and see their different quirks and moves, the presentation is also amazing (for example, Shinpachi commentating the fight off-screen while you play as Gintoki, is solid gold.)
The only problem is the lackluster roster. From the almost 50 years of Shounen Jump history, we've got merely 52 (39 playable) characters; and while some of them are a really nice surprise like Medaka Box characters, some are there just because they were popular at the time of the game's release (Which is why, for example, instead of the beloved staple of the series, Kujo Jotaro and DIO, we've only got the previous two JoJos, and no one else.)
The number is especially disappointing when coming from the previous Shounen Jump game, which had 305 (56 playable) characters.
But even so, it's still fun and well made even on the Vita (despite some hiccups here and there, like pixelated shadows.)

While an interesting set-up, it was not clearlyJ-Stars Victory VS+ gathers almost all of your favorite Shonen Jump characters in one place. While an interesting set-up, it was not clearly defined as to how and why. The game provides you with 3 story arcs. 3 almost mirrored story arcs just with different characters. This is not that big of an issue though because if you are interested in j-Stars, it will most likely be for the fights. Even with over 50 characters to choose from (only about 30+ are playable), the game is weirdly lacking in variety. The attacks are the standard Normal, Strong, and Special but with the lack of attack modifiers, matches can look extremely repetitive. If you are looking for depth in a fighting game, stay clear of this. But if you just want to see Goku beat the crap out of Naruto and Luffy, then this game is for you. Expand

The same as the console version, but WORST in almost every way.
But just for being portable, maybe is worth it.
