Climax was really onto something here. If it only decided to sway a little from the constant arena-like battles and introduced some more exploration and puzzle-solving, with much more downtime, it could have been one of the great PS2 action games. [Issue #150, p.66]
It's fast-paced, it's accessible enough, there are plenty of moves for the casual gamer, and it's got plenty of unlockable fanservice extras.

Besides this is the game I use to play when I was a child but this game have a thing that no game has better graphics for ps2 game

its one of my first hack and slah games I dont remember to much about it i just remember thats I like the gameplay too much maybe its not great now but im when i was a kid I likt too much and the story was bad the graphic was so good i wish if they make second part of it

While the appeal of Ghost Rider palls in the long term (the game is simply too samey, unless your thirst for fighting overrides your need for variety and pacing) it’s a strong and well-considered title. [Mar 2007, p.86]
The levels that had the most polish and the enemies that went along with them were on display at E3 a year ago. Everything else is not nearly so well rendered or animated.
If you have the sort of disposable income that allows you to spend thirty quid on a short-lived and rather bland diversion, or if you have an intensely adolescent fondness for flames, skulls and chains, then I dare say you'll find Ghost Rider to be 'not that bad'. And it's not.
Even die-hard fans of Ghost Rider may be offended by this game attempting to pass itself off as representing the Spirit of Vengeance.
Combine the terrible gameplay with overly dark and grainy visuals, a horrible story and voice acting and bad audio editing – cut scenes are far quieter than the in-game sound – and you get one awful package.
the game is almost 100% equal to GOD OF WAR everything resembles GOW from the hud to the executions, just missing the blood and torn limbs

Besides being a copy of god of war, this game is fun, beautiful and beautiful, good mechanics, good gameplay in the phases of the bike is extremely fun. That is, besides being a copy of god of war this is fun and very fun.

This hack n' slash action title is like a low-budget mix of "God of War" and "Devil May Cry". There's very little story, the levels are linear and the enemy types are limited. But combat is fun and the numerous unlocks are terrific. After you finish the game, you'll earn full comic-book issues, alternate costumes, a turbo mode, behind-the-scene videos and Blade as a playable character. While "Ghost Rider" isn't spectacular, it's still a PS2 gem. I would rate it with a 7 out of 10.

As other people have mentioned this game is heavily inspired by God of War and the combat is just about the same except with a different protagonist. The game Conan was very much the same. This game deviates a bit from those two by adding a motorcycle race/combat theme which is quite fun. With the bike you can decide to be a speed racer or go slow and harvest enemies. In this manner it's your choice what style gameplay you enjoy more and this offers you an ability to not get locked into too repetitive a gameplay experience. I found this a necessary change since God of War was so popular anyone playing this game would likely need some changes in design to enjoy it as its own unique game. Where I feel the development of the game could have been better is with sound and portraying the ghost rider character with more umph. The sound is not very atmospheric and pretty low grade. Not very spectacular. Similarly Ghost rider is just kinda there and his character could have been fleshed out as way more badass which would have made the game much more enjoyable and immersive. All in all this is a very decent game, in my opinion quite underrated. As with the other reviews I do agree this game lost some merit by being compared to both God of War and also with the release of new generation games around the same time it was released. Fast forward to today where people are forgetting about god of war and the PS3 and you see the true merits of this game being a hidden gem and underrated are finally being properly discovered. 2k is a great developer and this is another solid game that maybe took too long for people to notice it. .

Sadly, the enemy types are limited and the camera is terrible. You'll often find yourself getting hit by projectile attacks that you won't see coming. Unlockable content includes comic-book issues, extra costumes, a Turbo mode, behind-the-scenes videos and Blade as a playable character. Overall, "Ghost Rider" isn't spectacular. But it's not that bad either. I would rate it with 6.3 out of 10.
