Really easy to pick up and play. The controls are very easy and responsive. The mini puzzles that are presented to the gamers are easy enough to understand yet still provide a nice challenge.
A quirky, lighthearted third-person action-adventure that's a fun and engaging diversion - ideal for the PSP. [Oct 2005, p.109]

It's challenging, fun, genuinely hilarious, and sets the benchmark for future PSP games in this genre - the likes of Daxter and Prince of Persia have a lot to live up to.
It looks pretty and the controls work well, but overall MediEvil lacks in excitement and is slow to get good. You'd only buy because there aren't any other decent action adventures around yet. [GamesMaster]
This tale of the comical (and dead) knight starts off brilliantly, but the excitement tapers off when severely hampered by the nasty camera and repetitive action.
A satisfactory diversion on the PSP that’s hampered by some control and camera issues. It could have been a lot more fun.
Judged purely on its own merits on this platform it looks like it might be vaguely interesting, but all too soon you're dragged into the real world and forced to acknowledge that despite its warm touches of humour, the hackandslash action is nowhere near the standard we expect from a full-priced game these days.
Mój osobisty powrót do czasów dzieciństwa, kiedy grałem w MediEvil: Resurrection na psp. Dokładnie tak zapamiętałem ten tytuł, kiedy odpaliłem go ponownie po latach. Ciekawa przeróbka pierwszej części z serii, w której ponownie musimy zapobiec złym czynom Zaroka. Poziomy przechodziłem z przyjemnością wczuwając się w klimat oraz głębie lokacji mających zróżnicowane mechanizmy, by je przechodzić. Z niektórymi mapkami radziłem sobie bez problemu, a z niektórymi musiałem trochę przy tym posiedzieć. Nie mówię, że rozgrywka była jakoś turbo wymagająca, ale niekiedy trzeba było chwilę pomyśleć co należy zrobić. Design postaci oraz przeciwników bardzo mi się podobał. To samo mogę powiedzieć o udźwiękowieniu efektów walki jak i odgłosów postaci. Składając to wszystko w jeden element powstała lekko mroczna, lecz z pozytywnym i głupkowatym nastawieniem platformer z ciekawym pomysłem na siebie. Jak na grę z psp jest to świetnie wykonany tytuł według mnie. Polecam serdecznie.
