Despite its complex tutorial, Puzzle Chronicles is one of the best PSP games out there. Character customization, usable items, companions and sidequests en masse will make you play forever.
Good old-fashioned gameplay with an RPG twist, but not as good as Infinite's Puzzle Quest. [Apr 2010, p.85]
Puzzle Chronicles is undoubtedly a well crafted puzzle/RPG, capable of engaging both fans of the genre as well as any newcomers to the series, but despite it's undeniable qualities, the low difficulty level might fail to offer a real lasting challenge.

Puzzle Chronicles is a decent game wrapped in a tacky and uninspiring packaging. The puzzle based combat and the accompanying system for upgrading your character works well. Unfortunately the overall design and voice acting is horrendous and there are simply too many minor flaws present here for the game's qualitative sides to really shine through. Stay clear until you can find this title in the bargain bin.
Horizontal Tetris is not a bad idea at all. But if you combine it with a stupid story and crappy visuals you bury all the fun this puzzler has to offer. [Issue#190]
