Mar 9, 2018It all adds up to one of the must-have games on the Switch, alongside Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Skyrim. Still need a reason to buy a Switch? You’re all out of them.

Feb 20, 2018While the first game shows its age a little, Bayonetta 2 looks as if it were released last year. The graphics are better, the gameplay has more nuance, and the presentation is even more outrageous. And best of all, both games run like a dream when taken off the dock. It still blows my mind that Nintendo was able to get high-end games like this and Skyrim to run so well when played on the go. If you haven’t played Bayonetta before, then this two-game collection is the perfect opportunity to get on board. And for those anxiously awaiting the release of Bayonetta 3, there’s no reason to not dip back into the well with this fully featured, amiibo supported, and now completely mobile, Switch reproduction of Platinum Games’ best franchise.
-
Feb 14, 2018Bayonetta 1 & 2 rank as two of the best action games of all time, and now you can play them on the go. What’s not to love?
-
Feb 14, 2018Bayonetta herself is one of the sassiest characters in gaming and the combat is simply better than any hack and slash action game that I've ever played (and still is to this day). The game is only made better by the enhanced performance and portability provided by the Nintendo Switch and it's one that every Switch owner should have in their collection.
-
Feb 14, 2018Stylish, spectacular, and satisfying, the Bayonetta games are among the best action titles I’ve ever played.
-
Feb 14, 2018This is one for Bayonetta hardcore fans or those who’ve missed out on the originals. It’s also a brilliant way to get ready for Bayonetta 3.
-
Feb 21, 2018The original Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are still magnificent these days, and the Nintendo Switch version succeeds in allowing you to re-experience them on the latest console, even in a portable way. If you are a fan of action games but haven't tried the original version before, don't hesitate to buy the bundle. They might be the greatest action games until the releases of God of War or Bayonetta 3.
-
Jul 15, 2018Between the tongue-and-cheek gameplay and the upgraded playability, Bayonetta 1 & 2 for the Nintendo Switch are remarkably polished ports.
-
Feb 27, 2018It still feels wildly incongruous that this series wound up as, ostensibly, a Nintendo exclusive property considering how hard it works to earn that M for Mature ESRB rating, and yet, after the series spent eight years bouncing around gaming platforms, it finally feels like it's found a true home on the Switch.
-
Feb 22, 2018The Bayonetta games remain near-perfect examples of pure, unfiltered action and spectacle.
-
Feb 17, 2018These are two of the most enjoyable and finely crafted action games ever released. While the lack of meaningful new content or resolution bump is a bit disappointing, if you’ve yet to experience these bats–t crazy but beautiful brawlers, this is the perfect time to discover what makes the Bayonetta series so bewitching.
-
Feb 16, 2018Bayonetta is one of the best series of the hack and slash genre and this port is true to the Wii U versions with some small improvements. It is a good version for new players or for fans who want to remember the action of these games anywhere.
-
Feb 15, 2018The queen of stylish action has now made her way to the Nintendo Switch, and along with Bayonetta herself comes two of the best action adventures money can buy. While both games have minor nitpicks and there, overall they’re fantastic experiences enjoyable by casual and hardcore players alike, giving form to quality re-releases on Nintendo’s latest platform.
-
Feb 14, 2018Bayonetta 1 & 2 is the perfect choice if you have not had the chance to play them previously. Its style fits perfectly with the Nintendo Switch controls and the quality of both games is still amazing.
-
Feb 14, 2018Bayonetta & Bayonetta 2 are a perfect witch’s brew of fun and functionality on the Switch.
-
Feb 14, 2018The main thing is the developers haven’t messed with the content. Because almost no one bought the Wii U, few people had the chance to play Bayonetta 2. With Bayonetta 3 on the horizon, giving people a chance to catch up is a really good idea on Nintendo’s part. That’s why these ports have been released, and they’re that good that, even if you were one of the few with a Wii U, you may as well buy them again.
-
Feb 14, 2018Being able to play two of Platinum Games’ finest efforts whenever you like is hugely appealing, and the abundance of content on offer here only makes it even better. It’s somewhat disheartening that neither game has received any significant improvements beyond amiibo support and slightly better performance, especially since the Switch has proven it’s capable of far more.
-
Feb 14, 2018Bayonetta 1+2 are spectacular entries in the hack-and-slash genre, and playing them on the go is a surreal experience that vastly diversifies the Switch's library. Rewarding skillful play with gorgeous, satisfying action while being thematically engrossing, these games are a breath of fresh air, even today.
-
CD-ActionMay 16, 2018I’m glad Bayonetta 2 finally managed to escape the Wii U prison, because it’s too good a game to rot along a dying platform. PlatinumGames’ series is the pinnacle of the hack’n’slash genre and I strongly recommend it to every Switch user. [04/2018, p.71]

Feb 16, 2018Two safe ports of two extremely awesome over-the-top action games.
-
Feb 14, 2018Though the first game’s starting to show its age as far as visuals go, the relentless action remains timeless. Fast, frantic and frivolously fun, it’s still worth playing. The sequel, however, improves upon everything; deliver a more focused, more nuanced and more refined. It’s a glorious masterclass in design and flow.
-
Feb 14, 2018Bayonetta 1+2 is one of the best hack and slash compilation in terms of gameplay and looks fantastic in handheld mode. However, it isn't polished in dock mode with only 720p and excessive jaggies.
-
Feb 14, 2018On Switch, the two chapters of Bayonetta find their ideal refuge, adapting adequately to the rhythms of portability and maintaining a remarkable fluidity during the action.
-
Feb 28, 2018If you've managed to miss the two Bayonetta games previously, or you just want to have them available on a portable format, this collection is a must buy. If you've already played the two adventures however, there is nothing new to find here - even though the improved framerate is docked mode is a notable improvement over the Wii U versions.
-
Feb 21, 2018The first Bayonetta is slowly showing its age, but its more robust sequel remains at the top of its game. It contains some of the best combat mechanics that are perfectly integrated in the most over-the-top, outlandish scenarios. It’s stylish, frantic and oddly addicting. Unfortunately, the story may as well be non-existent and the voice acting from characters such as the newly-introduced Loki will make you want to skip cutscenes. It doesn’t help when you hear the brat calling Bayonetta Love every second sentence and cussing every scene. Regardless, it’s all about the craziness that PlatinumGames usually brings to their games and they’ve hit it out of the park with Bayonetta 2. They refined the formula with the sequel, creating a top-tier action game that shouldn’t be overlooked. It may not be perfect, but this is a solid remaster that more players need to experience, and considering you get two games for the price of one, this ends up being an incredibly appealing package.
-
Feb 16, 2018Assuming you have any taste for frenetic action games, these two titles represent the cream of the crop.
-
Feb 14, 2018Put simply, if you're a fan of the series, Bayonetta 1 & 2 are essential on the Nintendo Switch, especially if, like me, you only plan to play them in handheld mode. It's undeniably disappointing that they're less attractive in docked mode, but nevertheless they're still wildly enjoyable and engaging, just not as sharp as you'd probably expect.

Feb 14, 2018It’s clear that these are direct ports of the Wii U games, bringing across the touch controls that were added to the mix for those who wanted to tap at the screen of the Wii U GamePad instead of press buttons. Though not the best way to play the game, it’s actually nice to see some games making use of the Switch’s touchscreen instead of pretending that it doesn’t exist, even if it’s just because all of the hard work had already been done.
-
Feb 14, 2018You’ll have to decide for yourself whether a game that’s this sexualised is to your tastes tonally. The actual combat and gunplay, however, is far less contentious: there’s a reason Xbox and PlayStation owners were livid that Bayonetta 2 was a Wii U exclusive, and if you’re a Switch owner who missed out the last time, now you get the chance to find out why. Don’t pass it up.
-
Feb 14, 2018The Switch continues to be a great place for ports of fantastic games, and my feelings around Bayonetta’s Switch Collection are much the same as they were for Skyrim and DOOM; this is the perfect excuse to either replay these games or to experience them for the first time if you missed them the first time around. Bayonetta might be a strange outlier in Nintendo’s game library, but she deserves her place: her games are absolutely modern classics in the action genre.
