In a futuristic "light cyberpunk" world where animals have replaced humans, privileged citizens live under a protective dome from the ambient air pollution while others struggle to make a living on the outside.

Brok, private detective and former boxer, lives with Graff, the son of his deceased wife. Although he could never elucidate the nature behind her accident, recent events may shed some light on an even more tragic outcome... one that may be linked to their own existence.

Will they be able to withstand the threats of this corrupted world and face their own destiny?

"Brok" is a narrative-driven game that blends action, puzzles and investigation in never-before-seen ways. Will you use your brain... or your brawn?

Brok the Investigator is a true original. It’s a hodge-podge of point-and-click, side-scrolling beat-‘em-up, visual novel, and find-the-object. Most of the time, these disparate ideas sit slightly awkwardly alongside one another, but despite a slow start we did eventually feel a little spark and the whole thing became more than the sum of its parts. It's all the more impressive given that it's just the second game from a one-person studio. Graphic adventure fans should absolutely consider thoughtfully pointing and clicking it onto their wishlist – or just drop-kicking the heck out of the buy button.

Drawing inspiration from the Phoenix Wright and Streets Of Rage series' alike, but improving on both with its own quirks and tweaks. While there is a strong difficulty spike near the end of the game, it provides a number of accessibility options. It can even be played entirely blind thanks to a recent update!

The game runs smoothly on Switch, looking particularly gorgeous on the OLED screen. It has optional touch screen controls and a generous hint system styled after Professor Layton. Combat is entirely optional, as is the drive for its multiple endings. One ending alone clocked in at 13 hours. The script is entirely voice acted, and is not at all patronising, while simultaneously not being too complex to understand.

The mark of a great game is one that makes you wish to immediately play it again upon completion. This is exactly how I felt upon reaching my first ending of Brok. I plan to keep coming back and get them all, as I know for a fact I will have even more fun doing so.
