Despite a few stumbles, this collection is a must-have for 2D graphics fans in general, and fighting game fans in particular. [Issue #61 – September/October 2022, p. 72]

A quality fighting games collection with some of Capcom's best beat 'em ups, including Red Earth (which makes its debut on PCs and consoles!), the complete Darkstalkers saga and lots of customization options.

Capcom Fighting Collection is a fine collection of titles, with only one real clunker – yet even that is worth a blast just to see something different.

Capcom Fighting Collection is a very good compendium of classic Capcom fighting games. Acting as a primer for the Darkstalkers series but with plenty of options for other players, it's certainly an enjoyable title to pick away at. Meanwhile, the Switch version has the added bonus of its vital portability.

An homage to Darkstalkers more than anything, Capcom Fighter Collection is well packaged, presented and executed. There’s not a lot of title diversity, but a few make their first overdue appearance outside of Japan and arcades.

Capcom Fighting Collection on Nintendo Switch includes some amazing games that I was introduced to through this release and a few essentials in the genre alongside a lovely museum mode. The training features are welcome, but the online play needs some work on Switch right now when it comes to both stability and features.

Overall, Capcom Fighting Collection is a decent compilation. With its various bonuses, options and new modes, it appears to be an ideal companion for lovers of 2D fighting games. On the other hand, some choices (Cyberbots, Red Earth) can challenge and the Darkstalkers saga represents half of the titles available! A daring bet that will not please everyone, but we must recognize that the Street Fighter trilogy, with the anniversary edition, the Super Gem Fighter and the Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, is worth the detour. Depending on how attached you are to the ten games in this compilation, this one will have a more or less pronounced interest.
