The heroes of the Kingdom confront the vile forces of the Undead, and you’ll plot your path to triumph for both sides in two epic story-driven campaigns. But not without some hands-on chaotic carnage and delightful devastation!

CastleStorm II returns to a classic fantasy land of medieval madness, rife with heroic knights, enchanting sorceresses, glorious griffins…and sheep. But a new threat rises – literally…as in, from the grave. Walking corpses. Headless horsemen. ZOMBIE sheep. All-around nasty necromancy. You get the picture.

Build an entire empire through gameplay that engages your inner hardcore strategist…then command – even CONTROL – your soldiers en route to triumph!

CastleStorm II does a great job at combining different genres like 2D action, strategy and even management. Once you learn how to play, you won’t want to stop.

Castlestorm II is a mixed bag; a combination of some equally intense highs and lows which almost feels worse than if it was simply not a good game. The issue is that it is a good game on a fundamental design level. The integration of several strategy elements alongside the hands-on gameplay makes for a thrilling and fun experience that is truly unlike anything else out there. That level of quality and innovation, however, is hamstrung by frequently poor controls, performance, and presentation which dramatically lowers the pedigree of the experience. Unfortunately, Castlestorm II feels like a step back from its predecessor, as it acquires more new problems than it fixes the old. Even so, we still feel it’s worth a light recommendation as a ‘buy it on a deep sale’ title. There’s always a chance that patches will fix up the rough edges, and if you can get past the issues in execution, there’s a legitimately great game to experience here.

I waited 2 days for a review before buying, but I cracked and bought anyhow. Game is pretty cool. Reminds me of heroes of might and magicI waited 2 days for a review before buying, but I cracked and bought anyhow. Game is pretty cool. Reminds me of heroes of might and magic with real time battles though. You develop a kingdom like in HOMM and gather resources to buy troopsIm still at the beginning but one thing i noticed. Loading times are long and happen every screen change. I accidentally hit cancel in the castle mode and was swearing like a sailor because i had to wait out of the screen and wait to get back in. This game is too cool to be held back by something like loading times. It ruins a lot of the experience. Expand

SWITCH HANDHELD VERSION:I initially bought this for my switch lite, but the graphics and cursor make it unplayable. This visuals on handheldSWITCH HANDHELD VERSION:I initially bought this for my switch lite, but the graphics and cursor make it unplayable. This visuals on handheld mode are terrible. PS4 version: I wanted to give Zen Studios a second chance and got the PS4 version. Visuals are fine but cursor still has a bizarre feel, like a bad computer mouse. GAMEPLAY: I was hoping for my CastleStorm 1 with better visuals to watch castles crumble. Instead, the castle on castle battles are almost entirely absent. You win by killing a set amount of enemy waves and or steal a flag. Pace of play is slow and you can’t progress with collecting enough resources. You must end your turn to collect resources. I must end my turn multiple times in a row to make one basic gold mine. Very boring. CONCLUSION: CastleStorm 1 definitive edition is still the best. CastleStorm 2 removed all that I enjoyed and tried to hard to innovate. I still enjoy the comedy and visuals (PS4 only) and want to support Zen Studios, but this is a missed opportunity. Expand
