Cult of the Lamb is a unique game in a world full of roguelikes, mashed together with a management sim that is oh-so-much fun. The cutesy graphics help tone it down, but don’t be mistaken – this is a dark game at times; it’s also a must-play title if you’re looking for something a little different.

Cult of The Lamb works so well because of how quickly the game feels. The roguelike elements never feel dragged out and too repetitive. The cult management elements never makes you feel as though you have to grind for that next upgrade. Players start the game running and never let up. There is always something in Cult of The Lamb making it an addictive title.

Cult of the Lamb is a beautiful marriage of cuteness and macabre, in an adventure with experiences that change every time we play.

Cult of the Lamb proves to be a remarkably fresh take on the roguelite genre, not just in its goofy and creepy aesthetic, but in its smart blending of action and survival mechanics. Gameplay remains tense without ever feeling like it’s unfair and a steady stream of unlockables and collectables ensure that your efforts are always rewarded. It’s just a shame that the performance isn’t up to snuff, at least at launch, as that’s really the only major complaint that we have here. We’d still give this a hearty recommendation to anyone who thinks it might be up their alley; it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Cult of the Lamb proves itself to be a great new addition to the Switch library.

Part top-down action game, part management simulator, Cult of the Lamb is a game that perfectly blends multiple genres, and does so in such a great manner that not even some nasty bugs can take away its shine.

Cult of the Lamb works because it weaves two halves into a complimentary collection. This creates a comforting and meaningful flow between all-out action and cerebral stock management.

An incredibly detailed and accomplished game that deftly balances combat with managing your very own occult village, Cult of the Lamb is an amazing game that deserves to be played. But no amount of humour or depth of mechanics can save the consistent and disappointing performance. I pray to Cthulu that some patches can bring this essential title up to snuff on the Switch.

If you are into rogue like games or animal crossing like games, this game has elements of both and does both quite well. Its a ten to fifteen hour game that I personally put nearly fifty hours into and I don't regret a single one. This could even be my game of the year. I've heard a few other people complain about performance on the Switch and I had no such issues. This game is fantastic and I'd recommend it to anyone. Expand

Cult of the Lamb brings a nice formula that makes the game addicting on PC and xbox, where the game runs flawlessly. On the Switch however,Cult of the Lamb brings a nice formula that makes the game addicting on PC and xbox, where the game runs flawlessly. On the Switch however, this is yet another one of those mediocre ports that leave you wondering "what the hell, have they even PLAYED this build on the damn handheld?" Going past day 8, if you get that far that is, due to corrupt data, frameskips, framedrops, terrible framerates, pretty much ANYTHING brings the performance down at that point -- and the more your cult expands, the worse this game behaves, making it impossible to finish the game on the Switch.

It doesn't help that this game is based on Unity, which has never run great on Switch, so don't even bother to think that 60fps is on the horizon. If anything, all Massive Monsters can do at this point is to implement a 30FPS cap, call it a day and say that they tried "their best".

All in all, Cult of the Lamb is just another rushed mess brought to you by Devolver Digital and the MAIN reason eshop should allow refunds in the US. We were LIED TO! We've been fooled, and now we're left with a broken build of a game that is fun to play (but not on the switch) and they have our hard-earned money.
