Jan 27, 2021Cyber Shadow packs a lot of quality into a small six-hour package. If you love indie platformers and have a soft spot in your heart for games like Ninja Gaiden and Shatterhand then you won’t want to pass this one up.

Jan 25, 2021Through it all, Cyber Shadow knows why people have fond memories of NES-era action platformers, whether it’s the thoughtful level layouts, unforgettable boss battles, or eye-catching visual embellishments. This is not a game for the faint of heart, but more for the persistent. I came away from this retro romp satisfied, primarily because it harkens back to the classics while still carving out a distinctive game that rightfully deserves to enter the pantheon of stellar 2D ninja games that includes the likes of Ninja Gaiden and The Messenger.

Jan 26, 2021If you consider yourself a fan of retro action platformers, you owe it to yourself to pick up Cyber Shadow whenever possible. It’s clear in virtually every facet of Cyber Shadow’s design that this project was a labour of love and that its designer is intimately familiar with what makes the stalwarts of this beloved genre so great. Well-built levels, authentic presentation, tight controls and a high difficulty all combine to make this a supreme and focused experience, and one that we can easily say is well worth your time. Mechanical Head Studios has set a high bar with its inaugural debut, and we can’t wait to see more from this developer.

Feb 1, 2021Cyber Shadow could explain some aspects of its gameplay better, and it doesn’t do much to innovate in its genre. However, with meticulous game design, challenging yet fair obstacles, a meaty length, and beautiful 8-bit pixel art, Cyber Shadow is a memorable and high-quality action platformer.

Feb 16, 2021An extraordinary action platformer with a dark and lethal character, in a really iconic pixel art world.

Jan 25, 2021This is a great old-school, action game, that even with its flaws offers tons of fun. A great second half and an interesting approach to back tracking makes it worth playing.
-
Feb 3, 2021Cyber Shadow is a solid retro throwback with a few things that drag it down. The feeling of becoming more powerful and being able to take down huge enemy threats with your wits and skills is very rewarding, and the levels when you can use your abilities more freely to overcome challenges are quite fun. It's the trial-and-error areas littered with cheap deaths, demanding exact precision over long and frustrating stretches, that hamper the experience. Still, if you're looking for an old-school-styled ninja game that will test your skills (and sometimes your patience), Cyber Shadow is a worthy contender.

May 8, 2021A frustratingly hard game with very good sounds, graphics and controls. Should have had difficulty settings for casual players.

Sep 9, 2021It is a very mediocre game. Not worth the money
To me. I'd rather buy the messenger or something else -
