    With performance that feels like both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Dauntless is a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch. In addition, the free-to-play friendliness of the title means that the community can only grow thanks to crossplay. The only real criticism of the game lies in the lack of endgame progression, but for a free game that is a blast to play with friends, this can be overlooked until the developer considers how best to explore this point.

    Dauntless offers up a pleasant alternative experience in the monster hunting action genre that focuses on the battles without sacrificing the core appeal. If you've ever wanted to take down larger-than-life beasties to wear their hides and take down even nastier foes, but felt intimidated by Capcom's more deliberate design, then Dauntless will prove a great, enjoyable way to finally see what all the monster slaying fuss is about. The fact that it's a fair free-to-play game makes it all the easier to experience for yourself.

    If you're not worried about a major story or a lot of strategy but still want to see what the monster hunting genre is like without shelling out a lot of money, Dauntless is a nice free-to-play game to ease you into things.

    Dauntless comes to Nintendo Switch with its own addictive personality and F2P. Players will have to hunt Behemoths in a magnificent port whose graphics stand out on the console.

    Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the loop of hunting monsters and collecting their parts to craft better weapons and armor. That being said, its performance issues in the open-world hub and the inability to earn any substantial amount of platinum through regularly playing the game inhibits me from giving further praise. However, with some improvements, this game could be a sleeper hit within the library of free-to-play Nintendo Switch games.

    Phoenix Labs has done a great job with Dauntless, designing a game that takes the better parts of Monster Hunter and pares them down into a rapid-fire and easily accessible action experience that’s sure to demand dozens of hours of your time once it gets its hooks into you. On top of this, you’re never hit over the head with microtransactions and it’s easier than ever to play with friends on other platforms. Though this Switch port mightily struggles from a performance perspective, it’s still enjoyable on a consistent enough basis that such issues can be mostly overlooked. It literally costs you nothing more than time to give Dauntless a try, and we’d highly recommend you give it a shot.

    Uninteresting and uninspired, Dauntless is certainly impressive in its own right, but as far as actual gameplay goes, what's present fails to engage beyond the surface level. Perhaps that'll be enough for most who download the free title, but between aesthetically resembling Fortnite and aping Monster Hunter's combat wholesale, Phoenix Games has failed to contribute anything truly novel to the experience. Dauntless is as derivative as they come, and while that lack of price tag may be appealing, there are much better games to spend one's time (and even money) on. Go play Monster Hunter instead.

Dautless ждал год минимум когда вышел то был на Английском языке . Сейчас наконец появилась локализация на Русский . 22+ лвл купил боевой пропуск. И да Dautless была второй игрой в мире после Evolve - 4 против 1 . DBD . пятница 13 и прочее хорошие игры но бой против монстра как в классическом Evolve остался тут . Единственное что бы не убить игру разрабы вместо монстра под управлением человека поставили бота . А то эти все криворукие дети начнут ныть о балансе и игру тоже прикроют с волной нытья . Поэтому для меня это хорошая альтернатива .MHW не то допустим , китайщиной за километры пахнет играть в той вселенной невозможно . Здесь же очень приятно проводить время . Надеюсь вы меня услышали. Ну и что бы понять игру тут над прокачаться больше 7 лвл . Так как очень растянуто начало для детей которые не могут сбить монстра с ног. ........… Expand

It's a free to play game so of course it has microtransactions but I've played for hours with other players and I've been having a great time without feeling the need to spend money on anything. The progression in this game is not locked behind spending money plus the majority of the MTX are purely cosmetics. Now regarding the performance, it doesn't run that great in Ramsgate (the town/hub), it's playable but the resolution and the fps are low, and there is a bit of lag, but from what I've read the performance in Ramsgate on other consoles is not that good either so I guess that is to be excepted on the Switch. The hunts are surprisingly very smooth though, no lag and no other issues which is great because it's the most important aspect of the game. Also, it's worth mentioning that this game has cross-play and cross-progression across PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch. I guess having Epic Games as their publisher made that happen. I also read that a mobile version is planned for 2020. It's really great being able to play with other players on different platforms.… Expand

Also, most of the micro transactions are purely cosmetic, the only ones that aren’t, are currency that’s used to speed up stuff and get other things, and that’s it, I think, overall, the micro transactions weren’t very in your face, and they were very tolerable, now, for the game, the gameplay is really fun, and it’s always a good time to be able to pick up a controller and play with 3-4 people relatively quickly, it’s nothing complex, just some good ol monster smacking fun, now go on, and get out there, have some fun.… Expand

    Look I get it, if you can't spend money on games AT ALL - it's nice to have these options. I may have even booted up a title like this from time to time when lacking cash. You know what a better solution is? Sell your console. Because if this is the quality of game you want to enjoy - you're either misguided or masochistic.

    I would spend time actually going over the game mechanics, but its pretty much Monster Hunter - minus the polish and meat that makes Monster Hunter so good. Instead, you get cookie-cutter designs for characters and beasts, pay-to-upgrade BS and not much reward for investing.

    I find the Fortnite approach (while I don't play the game) of having optional "seasons" to buy into - is a much more favorable one to just generally slapping a price tag on anything unique.

    This is to Monster Hunter what Fallout 76 was to Bethesda fans - a low budget cash grab. Sucks too, as I am a big fan of the Monster Hunter formula and wouldn't have minded a low-budget replication, but this is more reminiscent of a hot, wet, steamy pile of gaming trash - cooking on a sidewalk in a **** neighborhood.

    This port of Dauntless on Switch is awful with ultra low resolution and a lot of freezes.
