Feb 19, 2018I’m really glad that a game like Disc Jam has released and has as much polish as it does. I think they went a little overboard with the cosmetics and not enough on character variety, but those minor things that I can overlook since the core of the gameplay don’t rely on those things. It a great game that I could easily recommend on any platform as long as you use a controller.

Feb 14, 2018With a buy-in of $14.99, Disc Jam presents an entertaining and challenging competitive sports game in the same vein as Rocket League. While it has an easy point of entry, it takes a while to full master. The action is intense and games can just as easily be turned over if the throws are right. The microtransactions do muddy the waters a bit, but if you don’t mind waiting for those cosmetic rewards, they won’t impact your enjoyment of the game. If you are looking to get into a new competitive e-sport exploding onto the scene or if you’re looking to have some fresh and friendly couch competition, Disc Jam just may be worth looking into.

Feb 12, 2018The entirety of Disc Jam depends on if you’re into playing Disc Jam competitively online. If you’re not into that, then this game is probably not for you. The Ghost Arcade is the best mode aside from online play, and while it’s nice that it’s there, it’s just the same thing with an offline hat. On the bright side, online runs very well and thanks to cross-play with PC, the player base should stay strong for a while. The disc-throwing action is very fun, but with limited ways in which to do it, Disc Jam is a one-trick sport.

Feb 12, 2018Pick this up without fear if you know you have friends with whom you'd like to compete. Otherwise you might want to keep a lookout from the sidelines to see how it all plays out.

Feb 28, 2018The audio and visuals get boring fast, but at its core Disc Jam has addictive, solid gameplay, and with competitive cross-platform play, it's definitely worth a crack if you like the idea and want a break from Rocket League.

Mar 7, 2018The game is seriously addicting thanks to the gratifying mechanics and simple, fun premise that it’s built on. I can see myself jumping online almost daily to claw my way through the ranks but I do worry that the long wait times for matches will only get worse if High Horse Entertainment don’t manage to pull in some more players. I wish them all the best and hope to see Disc Jam continue to be supported by them for the foreseeable future.

Mar 5, 2018The lacking online player base is a shame because there’s an enjoyable experience to be had here. It nails the easy to pick up, hard to master element that defines all great arcade games. The overall package can feel somewhat barebones but if you’ve got the joy-cons to go around this is a great game to introduce to your next game night.
