In Divinity: Original Sin, you were on a quest for the forbidden Source magic. Now, you yourself are a Sourcerer: a dangerously powerful individual whose abilities summon creatures from the encroaching Void. The Divine is dead and the Void is everywhere. Sourcerers are blamed and the Divine Order is leading the charge against the threat: you. Captured and sent to Fort Joy, you will be "cured" of your powers -- no matter the cost. But the Order has secrets of its own that may cast doubt on its so-called holy mission. As you escape from Fort Joy, you realize that if the world remains godless, it will be consumed by the Void. Divinity: Original Sin II is a masterpiece and a dream come true for RPG fans. This game takes us to a world in which our decisions will influence completely throughout the secondary plots, without forgetting to maintain excellent quality both in storytelling and in combat and personalization. One of the best role-playing games ever created.

From lonely farmhouses through pitched battles with gods in far-flung dimensions, Divinity: Original Sin II is one of the most captivating role-playing games ever made in both its original and Definitive incarnations, with the latter proving that even the most complicated role-players can be ported successfully to gamepad-limited consoles. This immaculately conceived and emotion-wrought fantasy world, topped by brilliant tactical combat, make it one of the finest games of recent years, and it remains an instant classic in the pantheon of RPG greats.

I named the vanilla release the best game I had played this millennium in 2017, and the Definitive Edition on PS4 the best RPG I had ever played in 2018. 2019 sees Larian’s RPG opus become portable and it is as fantastic as ever. It is easily the deepest, richest, and most rewarding game on the Switch. In short Divinity Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition the best game on Nintendo Switch.

Divinity: Original Sin II is the perfect definition of freedom in the role-playing genre. What Larian Studios has achieved here exceeds all expectations. It’s inspired by the classics, but it wants to innovate. It picks up elements from the original, but improves on them and expands them. Few RPGs can carry their acronym more proudly than the game we have here.

If you can’t play on PC, Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Switch is a perfectly fine way to play. It has its issues and quirks that make it more of a companion to the PC version, but being able to play wherever you want makes up for it.

Blitworks has done a fantastic job porting Divinity: Original Sin 2 to Switch, running great for the most part, including local wireless and an interface that has been scaled well.

Divinity: Original Sin II on the Switch does a wonderful job of staying true to the original PC and console versions with no major drawbacks — even if the menus can be their own mini-boss.

Simply incredible. Bought this after the BG3 gameplay reveal. I knew the game was well-regarded but never paid much attention as I assumedSimply incredible. Bought this after the BG3 gameplay reveal. I knew the game was well-regarded but never paid much attention as I assumed that it wouldn’t be for me - couldn’t have been more wrong.

It’s definitely not as pretty on the Switch as it is on other formats, but it’s still a detailed and attractive game and a little blurriness doesn’t make battles any harder to follow.

To be able to play something like this on the go is just wonderful. Note: tons of reviews talk about how hard the combat is, and I’m enough of a wimp that I out it on easy to give myself a fighting chance - while I would definitely recommend saving often (because I have reconsidered decisions a few times), it’s totally manageable for me.

If you’re on the fence, do watch a couple of gameplay videos - the range of possibilities for each battle and most conversations is just insane.

Even with stick-men as graphical representations, it would still deserves a 10/10. Obviously try to play it on a PC. But if you only have a switch, buy it, play it and realise it is one of the best crpg's in existence. Bought this game during the same time as Zelda BotW. I'm an immense Zelda fan (so I'm biased) but I'll easily put this on the same footing or above. Expand

Im not going to talk about the game itself, because it’s pretty much recognized as an amazing game. So I’ll talk briefly talk about the switchIm not going to talk about the game itself, because it’s pretty much recognized as an amazing game. So I’ll talk briefly talk about the switch port. I’m only a few hours in, but so far performance is very smooth. The graphics are a tiny bit blurry, but that doesn’t affect its playability so far in any way, and that’s to be expected for a switch port of this magnitude. I will update as I get further into the game, and unless there is a drastic change in performance, I’ll leave the current score. So far it’s a great port! Expand

Currently about 20 hours in and absolutely loving it. The creativity you have in solving problems is fun. Big D&D fan and I’m excited to hearCurrently about 20 hours in and absolutely loving it. The creativity you have in solving problems is fun. Big D&D fan and I’m excited to hear that Baldur’s Gate 3 is going to use this type of system (but with 5e rules).

The resolution is only a problem when you’re in a tight battle space and someone lights everything on fire. Even then, you have outlines on your characters to help find yourself.
