If you're a fan of the original Legend of Zelda and don't already own the vanilla Ittle Dew 2 then Ittle Dew 2+ is a must-buy adventure that's bursting with charm in a vibrant, memorable, and puzzle-filled world.

Ittle Dew 2+ charms instantly with its open-world freedom, challenging puzzles, and constant snark. With the 2+ added dungeons, there’s plenty here to have you hunting for secrets for hours if you’re in the know. But if you’re stumbling through for the first time, you might find the adventure over too soon and too easily without knowing why.

    Ittle Dew 2 continues its series' heart-on-its-sleeve love for classic Zelda. [Issue #32 – March/April 2018, p. 76]

On top of the original base game, Ittle Dew 2 + on the Switch has the Dream World which adds 5 new dungeons with their own difficulties to conquer, a new boss, and cards to collect. It's a great way to make a somewhat short game last a little longer. And trust us, Ittle Dew 2 is so charming you'll want it to last as long as it can.

Overall, Ittle Dew 2+ is a good game with unfortunate flaws. While the puzzle aspect is top-notch, the action can feel a little inconsistent at times. The biggest problem I felt it faced is its lack of dynamic gameplay. Although it encourages you to explore to find hidden items, the game is basically "Go to this dungeon, now go to this dungeon" until the very end. Besides that though, I really did enjoy my time playing and laughing through the quirky story and it's undeniable charm. Sure it's not exactly Zelda, but Ittle Dew (2+).

Ittle Dew 2+ is more than the sum of its parts. It has many small great qualities that tie everything together to make it a worthy Zelda-style adventure. It is too bad that the combat is not one of those working parts. This adventure has a true spirit of exploration and a ton of puzzles and secrets to uncover. The legitimately funny character banter should manage to get a laugh out of even cold and dead inside cynical reviewers. The humour has a dryness to it that is unexpected for such a colourful and wacky looking videogame - most of which is derived from the flying fox, Tippsie (the best character in the game). The load times can be really lengthy at times, which is confusing since Ittle Dew 2+ is certainly not taxing the Nintendo Switch, but they are ultimately worth it in this quaint action-adventure game.

Replay value is aided by the short length of the main content and ability to complete the main dungeons in any order, particularly for speedrunners. On the other end, there's even more optional content than there is main content: you can run from main dungeon to main dungeon in about 4 hours, but hunting down all the secrets and completing the optional dungeons can extend a run closer to 14 hours. There's an excellent sense of freedom with regard to how you can squeeze as much or as little out of the game as you want. The combat, while more challenging than Ittle Dew, isn't considerably deeper mechanically, and the plot isn't at all riveting (a casualty of the streamlining), but it's incredibly rewarding to blaze through the campaign at breakneck speed or discover every secret the world holds. Highly recommended. Expand

I did not want to put my controller down. It is well done all around in regards to the music, the gameplay mechanics, the map, the puzzles, the hidden areas, the simple story (but interesting and very funny), etc. The level of difficulty is fair in general, but the bosses are quite hard. You can probably beat the game in 5-6 hours, but it took me 17 hours as I found every collectible items (24 shards, 8 pieces of raft, all the weapon upgrades), completed the 3 optional dungeons and completed the bonus one as well (Tomb of Simulacrum). I even entered the hidden Promised Remedy dungeon and beat the final potato boss (very very hard). I did visit the Dream World and did a few things, but did not complete it. I initially did not like the price, but I have to say it was worth it as I had a lot of content for my money. Ittle Dew 1 was good, but very short and not a ‘‘full one’’ in my opinion. Ittle Dew 2+ is a complete game and I really enjoyed it! I recommend this title to anybody who likes top-down adventure game with dungeons like the 2D Zelda games, Kamiko, Oceanhorn (garbage IMO), Binding Of Isaac, etc. It deserves a 8.5 out of 10 in my book.

PS I bought the physical edition with the goodies. Props to Nicalis for releasing physical copies with goodies!

It's funny, has a good art style, nice music and pleasant little puzzles. Unfortunately, there really isn't all that much going on in the game beyond that and by the end I was mostly just rushing through the game to finish it, and I doubt I'll even do that. The excitement just kinda drops off once you've found all of the items and you start seeing the same puzzles repeated with only slight variation. In the end, this game is not really worth the $30 asking price, but if you can grab it for $15 or less, you'll be okay. Expand
