Their lives are about to take a drastic turn when they accidentally open a sarcophagus whilst playing with debris on a beach, releasing a mysterious ghost cursing all the animals! Thankfully, our three Marsupilamis are immune to the curse and decide to set out on an adventure and find the ghost and reverse the curse. Inspired by the comic book Marsupilami from Franquin, this 2.5D platformer will take you on a colorful journey through the Palombian jungle, a coastal city and even an abandoned temple. Jump, punch, dash and swing with your tail like only Marsupilamis do. While mainly targeting a younger audience, the most dedicated gamers would be delighted to learn a Time Attack mode will challenge them to finish each level as fast as they can. And for the completionist, a beautiful artwork gallery will be unlocked after collecting hidden feathers and visiting secret dojos. Expand

Marsupilami: Hoobadventure is a great platform game that, despite being aimed at children, knows how to entertain all kinds of players. It is true that it is easy and short, but it is also tremendously fun and will become one of the best proposals of the genre this year.

A fun platform game that manages to offer pretty good entertainment without any real narrative material. Perfectly family-friendly, the game has the advantage of easily adapting to all ages without boring them. However, the experience would have gained by diversifying its level compositions in order to overcome its too-short lifespan.

Le Marsupilami et Le Secret du Sarcophage feels like a child-oriented Donkey Kong Country-like. Way more accessible and easier than the original formula, it will give to the youngest players a glimpse of what is to come, with its many secrets and evolutive yet conformist level design.

Taking inspiration from Donkey Kong Country and Rayman Origins and perfecting the movement! The Environments, animations and music are all breathtaking too! There wasn't a second where I didn't have a dumb smile on my face! Only criticisms are the lack of collectibles despite a very strong exploration aspect, there are a lot of secrets, but only for fruit. Overall a really really fun game! Just moving around this world feels incredible! Expand

Well, some of them are. The thing is, in many regards Marsupilami is a solid title. Though perhaps control responsiveness and overall pacing are a tad on the sluggish side, everything feels pretty smart and accessible. You’re free to simply run and jump along, keeping your head in the game to simply complete the level, or take the time and effort to seek out meatier challenges and secrets that will require you to demonstrate some additional gamer cred to complete. This all somehow gives it both a family-friendly and tough-but-fair degree of difficulty that should help it appeal to a pretty wide audience. I do wish it had a little more to offer in terms of variety, to better match up against some of its stronger competition on the platform, but if you’re just out for a good time it may be a winner depending on what you’re looking for.
