Your friends. Your adventure. Your rules.

Since the dawn of ever, warriors have banded together to fight evil. Now Mii characters based on your favorite people must unite to do turn-based battle and save Miitopia! Cast them in roles across the kingdom, manage friendships, and give them jobs with distinct stats, abilities, gear, and a custom look. Then behold as awesomeness unfolds! Guide your team of Mii characters on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord and restore the stolen faces of the citizens of Miitopia. As you watch with bated breath, Mii characters will mingle over food, camping, exercise, sleeping arrangements, and yes, combat! In these wild, yet traditional RPG battles, your partys relationships affect the outcome. Enemies attack while you explore the world map, which is littered with hidden paths and treasures. Talk about a win-win!

Miitopia is the right kind of silly nonsense. It's oddball, but never random for the sake of randomness. There's method to the madness, and in giving players such control over the experience, Miitopia ends up becoming something resonant on a personal level. Part of the reason I had so much fun with this game was because I had a direct hand in crafting what I experienced. I rarely laugh out loud as much as I have had with this one, and that is more impressive of a feat than Nintendo will get credit for. It's hard to get humour right over something as extended in length as a JRPG, and Nintendo nailed it.

Miitopia is a very charismatic game that offers us the necessary tools to create all kinds of Mii. While this port may not be worth a second purchase for everyone who already owns the game on 3DS, this is a fun adventure from start to finish.

Miitopia's main weakness may be that, for an RPG, it lacks depth of gameplay. Nonetheless, it manages to shine bright despite it all thanks to its MII. The fact that we, as players, can become the main characters alongside family and/or friends, thus creating altogether a charismatic group of heroes, it's indeed its biggest virtue.

Those who delight in making Mii doppelgangers and watching them get into hilarious situations will have a blast with Miitopia, but if that doesn’t sound like something you’re interested in doing, you’re probably better off steering clear.
  5. Although it becomes repetitive after a while, it is a game that I can recommend for both players who are new to the RPG genre and those who are looking for a game where they can spend time without thinking too much.

Like its predecessor on 3DS, Miitopia Switch is an original work that will introduce you to RPGs. Filled with humor, its simplistic, non-strategic nature is nicely outweighed by its powerful Mii editor and long lifespan. Although a bit repetitive, this fun adventure will be a breath of fresh air for those who are new to this world. For the rest of us, we have to admit that the differences between the original and the remake are minimal.

Miitopia is whimsical in its opening hours, but becomes repetitive far too quickly.

The game is very repetitive. The plot twist is always the same after the first time you see it. I liked the soundtrack the most.

The addition of a horse is great. And the updated Mii maker is absolutely insane, I’d pay 50 bucks just to use all the miis everyone created, and I did. My only gripe is that you can’t control your other party members, which is a huge bummer. But that’s forgivable when I can fight along side Videogame and Anime characters. Expand
