Miitopia is the right kind of silly nonsense. It's oddball, but never random for the sake of randomness. There's method to the madness, and in giving players such control over the experience, Miitopia ends up becoming something resonant on a personal level. Part of the reason I had so much fun with this game was because I had a direct hand in crafting what I experienced. I rarely laugh out loud as much as I have had with this one, and that is more impressive of a feat than Nintendo will get credit for. It's hard to get humour right over something as extended in length as a JRPG, and Nintendo nailed it.

Miitopia is a very charismatic game that offers us the necessary tools to create all kinds of Mii. While this port may not be worth a second purchase for everyone who already owns the game on 3DS, this is a fun adventure from start to finish.

Miitopia's main weakness may be that, for an RPG, it lacks depth of gameplay. Nonetheless, it manages to shine bright despite it all thanks to its MII. The fact that we, as players, can become the main characters alongside family and/or friends, thus creating altogether a charismatic group of heroes, it's indeed its biggest virtue.

Those who delight in making Mii doppelgangers and watching them get into hilarious situations will have a blast with Miitopia, but if that doesn’t sound like something you’re interested in doing, you’re probably better off steering clear.
  5. Although it becomes repetitive after a while, it is a game that I can recommend for both players who are new to the RPG genre and those who are looking for a game where they can spend time without thinking too much.

Like its predecessor on 3DS, Miitopia Switch is an original work that will introduce you to RPGs. Filled with humor, its simplistic, non-strategic nature is nicely outweighed by its powerful Mii editor and long lifespan. Although a bit repetitive, this fun adventure will be a breath of fresh air for those who are new to this world. For the rest of us, we have to admit that the differences between the original and the remake are minimal.

Miitopia is whimsical in its opening hours, but becomes repetitive far too quickly.

To start withMiitopia on switch is the release of a fun 3DS game, and it has been given intense upgrades that make the rerelease worth it. To start with the changes, the biggest thing is the far enhanced mii making. The level of customization with makeup is unbelievable and you (or more accurately random people on the internet with immense skill and time) can make literally anyone as a mii. The game also introduces a horse as pretty much a fifth party member. Horse is cool, mine is named Robert and I love him. I haven't played the 3DS version so I believe those are the main changes (as well as an upscaling to HD that looks good). Now moving on to the minor complaints that I think hold the game back. To start, you can kinda tell some enemies are upscaled 3DS ones and appear a bit blocky or sharp. Another thing is that horse whispering attacks are awesome but only the player character can use them which makes the horse bonding with party members feel insignificant and seeing all the awesome horse whispering moves would require you to play every job as the main character. Only other problem I could really think of is how underused the townspeople are. Some have like maybe 5 lines of dialogue. The good parts are hard to list because the whole game is amazing. Mii making is fun, almost all the interactions are fun, the humor is good, the combat is good if not a bit simple, and the post game is phenomenal. I very much recommend it. Expand

The addition of a horse is great. And the updated Mii maker is absolutely insane, I’d pay 50 bucks just to use all the miis everyone created, and I did. My only gripe is that you can’t control your other party members, which is a huge bummer. But that’s forgivable when I can fight along side Videogame and Anime characters. Expand

No new popular miis from Switch, only old ones from 3ds, makeup dissapears during half of the animations.
