Working with a clearly limited budget, Tamsoft has focused on delivering a tight action-combat system, while also relying on the fan service of both Senran Kagura and Hyperdimension Neptunia to see it through. It’s a good couple of hours of genuine fun, with the requisite bath scenes, humour and familiar characters to meet and fight. You can’t help but think that both properties could have grown to become more than this, but taking as it is, it’s still entertaining nonsense, with a heavy emphasis on the “entertaining”. I play enough serious games that require deep analysis, this kind of thing is my ideal break time between them.

Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA was a pleasant experience and nothing too crazy happens. It can be a delight to fans but can also disappoint those looking forward to more. Unfortunately, the story was pretty uninspiring and the crossover was more mindblowing than the actual game. It was entertaining and easy to learn though, but if you aren’t a fan of either franchise it can be hard to understand. While the game was an absolute delight, there isn’t enough content to make this the best crossover ever. Hopefully, with Ninja Wars being the start, there will be something more in the future.

Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars doesn’t have much meat on the plate in most respects. There isn’t much depth to the action, and it’s over pretty quickly by the standards of Senran Kagura and especially Neptunia. The only area where it really goes beyond adequate is in the charming character interactions and amusing script. It would be nice if there was a little bit more here to enjoy, but I think for the fans of the brands, it’s enough. Those not already invested in either series will want to give this a pass, however.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars is a fun yet formulaic anime beat-em-up. However it blurs the lines of both franchises, and might not offer enough of either franchise’s core experience to please their fans.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but like any game like this, it gets old before too long.

Tamsoft has been making Hyperdimension Neptunia and Senran Kagura games for a long time and knows exactly how both franchises work. However, Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars is not funny story wise and the gameplay feels terrible. It's a shame this project wasn't entertaining at all, because a crossover like this could give fans a big game to play.

There is so much potential in a crossover between the Neptunia and Senran Kagura series that it’s a real disappointment this is the best Tamsoft, Compile Heart, and Idea Factory have to offer. What should have been a celebration of two niche franchises that have defied the odds (and critics) to succeed in this industry is instead yet another forgettable spinoff for two series that have already seen their fair share of forgettable spinoffs. Both franchises deserve better, and quite frankly, so do the fans who have done their part to keep them going.

4 years passed without a new installment of a Senran Kagura for the Nintendo Switch and 7 years without a game of the hack and slash genre,4 years passed without a new installment of a Senran Kagura for the Nintendo Switch and 7 years without a game of the hack and slash genre, the last being Deep Crimson. Years of not receiving a game for Nintendo, and seeing how it was censored on the Playstation. A new installment has finally arrived, even if it is a crossover for the hybrid console.

Although the game does not support the graphic capacity that the PS4 supports, it came out decently and playable for the Switch. Although there are parts that you have to wait a long time, although you can skip parts, but it doesn't make sense if you want to follow the story.

I recommend the game better on the Switch than on the PS4 by far and for all the bad things Sony did with this beautiful franchise. Although if you want graphic quality and things that the Switch has (uncensored), then wait for it on the PC. Now, about Playstation for the damage it did to the Senran Kagura saga, neither forgetting nor forgiveness.

Never played a Neptunia title, but have finished a few Senran Kagura games. This had a ridiculous story which didn't take itself seriously and had some funny dialogue. The action parts were basic but generally a lot of fun - I enjoyed them more than the basic Senran Kagura experience tbh. I liked the tag team mechanic. Fanservice was never too extreme or intrusive. Recommended if you're into weirder titles. Expand

Disappointing amount of fanservice. No transformations, no clothing break, and slower-paced than other Senran Kagura games.
