Despite a couple of gripes, Octodad: Dadliest Catch suits the Switch well. Whether you're playing on your own or arguing with up to three other players with the drop-in co-op mode, you're bound to have a fair bit of fun with it.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is the epitome of cult, as it's clearly a love-or-hate video game, since its purposely bad control scheme and comedic approach to things is far from most people's cup of sea water. As for those who think that this is up their alley, it's best to wait a bit. Not because this isn't fun or anything, but because it's currently a bit too pricey for what's on offer.

Once the novelty and the wackiness have worn off, you are left with a short and sometimes haphazard experience that treads an incredibly fine (and wobbly) line between hilarity and frustration. While kids will love the simple, bold, bright cartoon-like characters and physical humour, older players will likely feel that they are constantly at odds with the game's controls and become immune to its charms. If you haven't experienced Octodad before it's worth checking out, but be cautious - it will make you giggle as well as probably stretch your patience.

If you’ve already played this on Wii U you’ll know what’s to come, and there won’t be the laughs to the extent there’d be if you’re a newbie. It’s certainly worth experiencing, but try and get those controls nailed down ASAP or you’re in for a frustrating time.

Octodad is a fun little physics game, where you control an octopus, who disguises himself as a human.

You go through everyday live with him and his family and try to fit in with human society.
It's a fun little 2-3 hour long game with lots of bonus content and a great soundtrack.
If you're interested I suggest to try it out.

I really enjoyed this game. Personally I don't really like replaying games because I have already finished the story, but this was the onlyI really enjoyed this game. Personally I don't really like replaying games because I have already finished the story, but this was the only game I replayed because I thought I could get a perfect speedrun score on it and also because I wanted to replay it. Games like super mario odyssey are really good but I wouldn't want to replay that again because of how long it was. But Octodad was the perfect game for me to replay. Anyways this game was fun. The controls are a bit messed up but they were messed up on purpose to make it a bit more challenging. The story is okay and the characters are fine, but the chef is one of my favorite villains in videogame history. The many ways he tried to kill Octodad are just hilarious. In the end he does give up and the family does realise that Octodad is an octopus and the chef does leave them alone at the end but this is an amazing game. I rate it 7/10 because it's not one of my all time favorite games but this game is great. Expand

The gameplay is a bit hard to adjust to (I guess that may be the point,) but is fun to try to figure out strategies and methods for the objectives.
    The story... Well...
OKAY - SOMEONE MARRIES AN OCTOPUS AND DOESN'T REALIZE HE'S AN OCTOPUS.....

Overall, Octodad is an okay game. You'll have some fun with it, but it is pretty short.
