One Strike is a truly unique, 'pure' video game. For the asking price, you get a rather fresh take on the one-on-one fighting genre and it can quickly become your go-to game when you are in need of a break between other more complex games or just need a quick burst of intensive reflex exercise. Find a group of like-minded players to play it with you and it becomes your current best, most efficient option to ruin friendships on the Switch (at least until Super Mario Party is released). Grab it without fear and then... either strike or die. There are literally no other options.
One Strike lets you take control of six different warriors as you fight to determine who is the deadliest. The simplistic yet tense gameplay will keep you on your toes. The small roster and limited variety to the modes are fun in bursts, but not for extended periods of time. That being said, One Strike is a fun fighter to pick up and play at a low cost.
One strike is a pretty good game. I vote for game of the year 2021. I didn’t fully understand all the moves, but it’s a lot of fun, mostly because it’s fast and you stand a good chance of winning even if you **** at games, which is nice. Even better taking Dorito breaks!
Overall, regardless of a missed block or two and too many similar modes, One Strike is a fun game to play if you have friends over and want to split the Joy Cons, or even if you have five to ten minutes to spare by yourself.
This is a simple effort that is very easy to get into and to adopt. Unfortunately it's also too simple for its own good, with a visual environment that does not look better than many of the games it's based on and a lack of balance between characters that does not motivate the players to explore their features.
Es una obra maestra, un juego casual y rápido para jugar con amigos. no importa cuantas veces lo juegue siempre tiene esa emoción de la primera vez, las peleas son geniales de ver me gustaría que siguieran sacando nuevos personajes
I personally love games that have simple mechanics but are hard to master, and this game features that, and more Extras. The different gamemodes are super fun, and the variety of characters ist just right for my taste, except for one, and that is Hangaku. She is incredibly overpowered, because every other character has one ability he exceeds in, but lacks in another department. But Hangaku has the highest range of all fighters, while having little to no downsides, making her incredibly powerful, even as a easy difficulty bot. If this would get patched/balanced, this game would be in my favourites of all time.
Stupidly easy rock paper scissors style game when you play as the only ranged character. It's like bringing a gun to a sword fight. 4 moves, dash left, dash right, attack and block (or quick attack depending on the character). Most typical attacks require two presses one to ready, one to attack. Blocks release after a brief second. Stupidly quick game too even on arcade mode with best 5 rounds out of 9 for each competitor. Since there's not much going on, I focused on how low resolution the pixel art is. It's just a bit ugly, shallow and I didn't enjoy the experience. I bought it for 50 cents, so I got my 50 cents worth, but It would be a struggle to return.
SummaryBecome the deadliest fighter in a vintage Japan. Only one strike settles the duel, master the fighting style of each warrior to outsmart your opponents.
